I've been to a lot of ski resorts, and no place I know of has as good of snow as Alta. Their lifts are old, their restaurants are mediocre at best, their parking lots are poorly designed. But you forget all of that when you hit the snow. And you can get to Alta in about 20 minutes from East part of Sandy, 45 minutes from just about anywhere in the Salt Lake valley, including the airport. As for it being ski-only, I have nothing against snowboarders, but it is nice to have ski-only resort.
i dont get Americans rejection to trains and buses, you could get to the resort so much quicker and more efficiently during good snowfall days. In Europe we have trains which take you up to the resorts, where I go in Austria and Germany there are trains which go to the top of the mountain so you can ski down.
I do respect the ban on snowboards, as they say, we need to preserve the skiing culture in alta. I have nothing against snowboarding but I have to agree.
At this point they should just go ahead and ban skis from Brighton except for ski patrol. That would balance things out nicely with the crowds, make it a boarders only mountain and then hopefully everyone will drop the discussion.
I would youtube it, but basically from my understanding most ski resorts didn't allow snowboarding and then changed the rule to allow it & Alta never changed the rule.
As a boarder, there are probably a bunch of different reasons - some that might be reasonable and some that are just an elitist hold out from the 70’s and 80’s. I could see the argument that sb’s track out steep terrain more aggressively since on average most boarders don’t really know how to ride fall line on steep terrain. Lots of side slipping and snowplowing. Also snowboarding used to be seen as the ‘dark side’ of the industry. A sport for dirt bags, that skiing didn’t want around as it grew. Who knows for real tho
Funny that Alta and the people who support the hate still use the reckless out of control excuse to keep snowboarders off the mountain. I’m in my early 50’s now and made the transition to riding in the early 90’s. Worked at a shop and saw first hand the way snowboarding saved the entire industry. From the shape of your planks to the way you ride the mountain. It’s all thanks to snowboarding. I reconnected with the mountain in 2020 getting the family season passes. The first thing I noticed was how things had done a 180. The ones out of control, talking shit, over their head, making things uncomfortable are the ones on 2 planks. So keep your lame ass mountain. Moguls haven’t been cool since I wore jeans and gators in the 80’s.
Nice vid, you should make more like this
Thank you! I would love to explore more mountains around the world.
Quality is getting so good on these props Alex keep ripping
Thank you! I really appreciate it!
Was super sick to ride the lift with you and share some convos. We look forward to having the Hackel crew back at Alta soon ! Yeww
Thank you we will be back!

I’m jealous man. I was skiing on grasss yesterday 😂. I bought 1000skis park 3 days ago. Should I get pivots 15 or griffon 13?
hey thank for the support! go with the pivot 15's or the Jester 16's there alittle sturdier then the Griffon 13's
You gotta ski Wolf Creek it’s the most insane pow ever and so deep
Hell yeah! I got to check it out :)
Wolf Creek is awesome, I have a yearly trip with friends and stay at some nearby cabins. The phrase “most snow in Colorado” is no joke
@@jasonsize2 that’s awesome! Yeah definitely I’m very fortunate to call it my home resort
Alta is my my number one ski area w/out a doubt.
I don't blame you, I am bummed I am not still there skiing all the new snow.

Fuck that elitist bullshit. Same shit different asshole,
Love this!
💕💕💕
I must say, we have had pretty heavy snow this year, so if you thought that was good then I guess you gotta come back.
Hahah I definitely want to come back and get a major storm under my belt up there.
Most insane group of skiers you will find, tons of people at Alta are amazing at skiing!
It's true the average skier there is really really good
Was lucky enough to have a season pass the last few years here
Where was the bombay hit at?
so sick alex
Thank you!
you are my inspiration
Thank you!
@@AlexHackelNetwork Have you ever heard of Gulmarg
What is the model of the red freeride ski in the video.
Hmm I never been to Alta but WH2O is my heaven on earth. Alta does look fun though.
I skied with Tristan when I was 7 or 8.
As a Brighton local I really want to hear what the people in the other canyon think of the $1 billion gondola.
Haha we tried to stay off the gondola topic as that is its own bag of worms, but if anyone wants to drop in with their feelings go for it
Redondulous about sums up my thoughts on the gondola
Elon should do a tunnel up the canyon, solve all problems!
As a boarder I’m definitely bummed that Alta doesn’t allow us but I also kinda get it. It’s too bad but at least SB is right there, same with Brighton
I feel that, Brighton is so sick i want to spend some time there 💕

@@fandam801 this isn't bad idea... but it is because I love skiing Brighton and would never willfully wish that away.
Can’t believe he broke a pivot!!!
Right!? Pretty unheard of!
Looks like normal snow 😂
It wasn't the biggest dump but it was super nice :)
Answer: yes always
Why cant you Snowboard there?
