By far, your video is the best on how to remove the panel (there is many others, but they don't show the removal of the latch) and the latch is the reason why yours is the BEST!, thanks
gotta love youtube for stuff like this. I’m replacing the opening latch on this exact vehicle, even the same color. It was just meant to be. I found the hand latch assembly on eBay for $12, then this perfect tutorial. Thank you for taking the time to make and post this video. Karma will bring good things your way!
Thank you for this video! Waiting for my replacement latch lever to arrive from Discount Toyota Parts, as I chose to use genuine parts instead of aftermarket versions.
Hey did you ever by that trim piece for around the handle? Mine is broken into lol 4 pieces before I have even started taking my door off and I know it’s going to just explode once I start working on it
@@TheVanderbone I never did get around to it. I looked around for a new one, but the old one is still functional. I just left it alone for the time being.
wow thanks for this. I have a 2001 Tundra .I had to replace the interior door handle. Cant believe with such a heavy duty backing plate the onlky thing holding the grip on are a couple of short #8 screws? Any way got it fixed and all back together in about an hour.!
I did everything like the video said. But the door won't come out. It's the lock that won't let the door come put. Any suggestions to take the lock out.the door is lose to come but the lock won't make it. There is no way to get to that lock. Thanks, Benny.
What does Toyota call the handle you are trying to replace (broken piece)? I am only getting door latches when I google "handle" for 2005 Toyota Tundra. My latch is broken also.
Looking for the same part, its called a "pull handle" part number is 74640-0C020-E1. I think that part number is for left (drivers side i think) and fawn or tan color. Also not sure if left and right are different, but thats what it says on toyota parts sites. pull handle should bring it up though. Let me know if you find one for a good price, $40 + $10 shipping seems expensive for something I can easily live without
Thank you for creating this video! You’re legacy lives on though all the first gen Tundra fans needing this help!!
8 years old and still super handy thank you

Worked on my 2006 Tundra SR5. I was stumped on removing door panel until I saw this video. Thanks
Thank you for putting these instructions out there. You explain things well.
Thanks for the reminder about the bezel around the door handle. I have had the panel off 3 times in the last 8 years and forget each time.
Thank you it's nice to have a simple answer to a simple question great video
Great video, which was much-needed help to me! I would recommend all who watch it to have a trim pulling tool to pop the panel free from the door.
I thought on looking for a tutorial after I broke the latch, totally regret not looking for information first. Thanks for the video.
I just did the same😅
Thankyou thankyou THANKYOU! this is exactly what I was looking for. Saved my door handle trim!
Thanks man, instructions worked perfectly on a 2003 Tundra!
Bro…thank you. I didn’t want to break it 🤙🏽

Worked perfectly for my '01 Tundra, but I still broke the handle trim. Very helpful video!

Thank you for the video...I was pretty close to just breaking the latch.
Thank you sir. You are a gentleman and a scholar.
Like the other folks, thanks for doing this. Just what I needed. I'm sure I would have broken the handle trim piece otherwise.

Don't know where I went wrong, but I did everything in reverse, and when I got done, I had a Honda.
Same here but I had a Harley..I figured it must just be because the factory used Asian & American parts to build both?
Great video, quite helpful! Thanks for posting!
Thank you! Very well done!
