The dosdude patch is the way to go. it’s easy to install. the other option is to get a standard 2012 machine and swap screens.

the radion delete from macmods (usa) worked well for me. You get a download 10 dollars and it boots from a mem stick then you have to remove the resistor feeding the crap radeon graphics chip
