How much do you need to use the generator on the trip and do you have any solar. Have you considered some sort of bimini in the cockpit area with Solar on top?
Hi Noel, If moving between destinations we found the 140watt fold up solar panel and the short period we run the diesel motor when coming in and out of an anchorage is enough to meet our power needs. If we are on anchor in one spot for a couple of days or more and have both fridges running we like to run the gene for an hour or two each day to keep the batteries charged. We hardly used the gene on the trip up the coast but found it very handy when spending a week or two out on the whitsunday islands. A bimini would be good and something we would consider if keeping the boat for long term cruising. Cheers dean and fiona

Thankyou Laurent, it is interesting as this 3hp yamaha doesn't seem to have a safety kill cord. doesn't mention it in the user manual either.
