When my daughter was Coco's age in the flashback, she liked to reach her hands out and touch my face - so when that scene came up in the theater, that was when I started crying.
One of the clues that most people miss is de la Cruz's guitar has a gold tooth. It is shown prominently on the album cover Miguel looks at to compare to the photo. De la Cruz does NOT have a gold tooth... but Hector does!😁
I didn’t notice this at ALL the first time I saw it last week, but when I rewatched it today, I picked up on it so fast and slapped myself so hard for not noticing! Such a good detail. I also really enjoy that Hector and Imelda are both wearing purple, something else I noticed on my second watch. Such subtle but great foreshadowing
I studied music therapy in college and when I first saw this movie I got so excited at the end because Coco‘s reaction to hearing the song from her father is a well known and documented phenomenon for patients with dementia or Alzheimer’s. This is my favorite Pixar movie. I love that the message isn’t just “follow your dreams at any cost” like a lot of kids movies say. it’s that family are the people who support you in your dream and sacrificing your family makes the dream hollow.
Yeah there’s a documentary about Alzheimer’s disease and music. I had seen that documentary before seeing Coco and the scene where she starts remembering was so amazing. I love this movie so much. I recommend it to everybody. I love it so much.
I'm so proud to be mexican, and have this tradition brings me joy. Day of the day is actually the day of the life. When i watched this movie in the theather I was bawling like a baby. Arriba México
One of my co workers had lost her husband before this movie came out. When she went to see it she had no idea it was about what it was about and by the end she was a mess. Poor girl but she said while it "ruined her" it also was a good thing for her to remember him always even when she moves on.
This movie holds a very special place in my heart. My grandfather was a musician before he passed away a few years ago. Now my grandmother, his wife, is suffering from dementia. She's lost a lot, but always perks up when we play his old recordings. When it comes to Alzheimer's/dementia, they say music is the last thing to go. We're blessed his talent was passed down to us so we can keep his spirit and her memories alive.
This movie makes me cry every single time I see it. Even just hearing Remember Me brings on the tears. Amazing movie and, as usual, reaction. I'm so glad you watched this! Edited to add: did you notice that while Hector spends the whole movie barefoot, he has shoes at the end? Once he was reunited with his family, they made him shoes! It took me a few times to notice that and when I did, there went my emotions all over again. This movie, I swear.
As far as this movie breaking anyone who watches it... yes. Anyone who can watch Miguel play that song to Coco and not at LEAST get choked up must be some kind of monster! (I'm just kidding. I wouldn't actually judge anyone like that.) But this movie hit me especially hard because it came out just a few months after I lost my dad, who was also a musician, and passed his love of music on to me. My brother got hit even harder because he was a new father at the time. He had a little girl (now he has 2). So he got the double-whammy on feelings from it.
Please watch Kubo and the Two Strings. It has a similar theme and it came out before Coco, but it fell through the cracks because it’s not Disney. It’s truly a work of art.
I credit this movie for raising a lot of awareness about Dia De Los Muertos and the sheer SIGNIFICANCE of the holiday to people of Mexican ancestry. It nailed the HEART and true meaning of the holiday. It also made quite a few people proud of their Mexican heritage, myself included and I have to respect it.
My family actually talked about seeing this is theaters but we never did but to be honest I'm glad we waited cause around the time this came out we lost our great grandmother I know if we did see it I would have definitely cried myself into a panic attack.
I was a mess after coco, she looked like my grandma, and the part where she didn't remembering her daughter, made me cry because in her final days, she did not remember who we were. So that song really hit hard.
For anyone who has had to deal with a loved one suffering through Alzheimer's, this movie hits home REALLY hard. When Coco looked at her daughter and asked who she was, damn near broke me, the first time. A very dear friend had to watch her Mother slowly fade away from Alzheimer's, and I was there, the first time her Mother looked at her and asked that same question. The end, when Coco came back DID break me. Still does. The tragic part of this movie was that because the memories needed to be passed down from someone who knew of him in life, and the family was forbidden to even speak his name, much less any story, beyond that he left them, Coco was the only one who could save him. But by telling the whole family, at the end about him, she guaranteed him several more generation, at least.
I really appreciate your heartfelt and passionate reactions to movies and not being afraid to cry or show emotions! ♥️ I cried a lot when seeing this in the theater, and again watching it with you. The power of love and music!
I used to travel a lot when my daughter was a baby... And I always sang her songs (For some reason "Cielito Lindo" was her favorite)... So I got Crushed on the scene when Hector sang to little Coco... I put my self in the same situation as Hector and the single thought of never coming back to her got me so deep... I cried like a baby right there... Now we watch this movie all the time... It's my All-Time Favorite from Pixar...
I love the reaction to the Hector/De la Cruz twist. I saw the plot coming the moment Hector showed up on screen but I enjoy seeing people take a second to catch it. It makes me chuckle every time!

Actually, I'm Mexican and in the cemetery when Miguel is "death" and Dante, the dog, sees him is a reference that in Mexican culture it was believed that the xoloitzcuintle (the race of the dog) are guardians of the souls of the death and guard the entrance to the underworld as they also guide the souls to it, that's why they also have little no hair, because of the flames and fire of the underworld
I always cry the part of Miguel playing for Coco the song. I imagine that part of my grandma too which she died long ago. I imagine I played the guitar as Miguel and Coco as my grandma because I know how to play guitar and didn't get the chance to play in front for the last time to my grandma because I was away from schooling. And after my school break that time she left me and my family already I got sad and hurried back to see her. I love my grandma so much and I missed her so. 😭

She told me certain alleyways and intersections in the movie are identical to places around Salamanca, and it's the city where Pixar held the Mexican premiere of the film. 😊
I’ve seen a few reactions to this movie, and I have to say yours is my favorite. You were so interested and seemed to really enjoy it. Thank you for being so honest with your audience.
I know this is late, but I want to say how much I enjoyed your quick-on-the-pickup to the complicated plot of this movie. It gets a 10/10 for comedy, action, and HEART. Yep -- wet eyes all around.
Great reaction and I'm glad you didn't catch the biggest twist before it was presented hehe because your reaction was priceless. I went to see this movie with my mom, an aunt and my grandma so you can imagine the mess I was at the end 😅
Your reaction is so emotional and your laugh so enjoyable. It reminded me my dad who is not dead but abandoned us years ago. I cried even i've seen coco like 20 times
I watched "The Book of Life" before I even knew about Coco. One of my favourite movies! Coco obviously has a deeper story in the sense, but I love how both movies used music and the land of the dead with their stories. Coco is beautiful yes, but if you have not seen "The Book of Life" please watch that also, it is different but also well worth it!
Mama Coco reminds me so much of my own grandmother who also suffered from Alzheimer’s. She would only be lucid for brief moments (usually after a nap/sleep) but also, she remembered all the songs she used to sing to whenever my aunt would play them for her. ❤
Oh i loved this film, I'm glad you reacted to it. Look forward to your reactions so much because you are so genuine. Can you watch The Father or Promising Young Woman? Both quite recent films
U should watch behind the scenes for this movie. Anthony Gonzalez did the voice of Miguel and he was 13 at the time, just like Miguel at the end of the movie, so that’s one way he relates to him I guess
Just subscribed watching this. Loved your reaction and how you were able to call out a lot of the plot points before they happened. I’ve watched this movie a bunch of times and and the scene of Miguel singing to Coco still gets me crying every single time.
Dude. Thanks for this reaction. I always cry with this movie. I have 2 kids and it hits harder. Now im crying with your reaction lol. Your family and many others will remember you if you are as cool as you showed here in this video. Greetings from Costa Rica.

You know what? I also enjoyed Coco too. And guess what? My name is Héctor Luis- Lanzó Rivera, and my mother name was Josefina. But everybody used to called her "Pepita". And she used to have the same temperament as Mamá Imelda.
Lol don't apologize for crying! It got to me too. I've watched it 7 times since it came out and it still gets me everytime. Hell, my dad (who NEVER cries) began bawling at the theatre!!!
The creators knew what they were doing when they wrote this movie and damn did they play with our hearts! And I second Kubo and the Two Strings! Such a beautiful movie with a beautiful story!
My grandmother is German & she's the exact same way with the have some more. Had a friend who's Italian & they're the same way. Always makes me smile how similar different cultures can be
I saw this in theaters two weeks after I lost my grandmother, and I will always associate this movie with her. I love seeing my mexican culture in this beautiful story!

When i watch this movie for the first time i did some research on it so when Pixar's studios went to Mexico they met the real grandmother Coco and family. which this movie is based on and then i learned Pixar's studios isn't giving any royalty checks to the family.
Man I cry when i see this people Reacting and cry and now I know and I understand that being Conscious and Aware about the amazing fact that we can experience all kind of different feelings and emotions it's something unique
If you decide to go back and watch the movie again, look closely at the photo Hector wanted Miguel to put up. You'll see something that Papa Hector passed down to his great great grandson. It's my favorite hint.
Big Hero 6 is actually a Disney Movie not one from the Sub studio Pixar But I agree that it is the most Disney has ever come to the Pixar-Style in their own originals and that's why I probably like it so much 😂
@@EatYourVegs Yea, but it is a good movie (even better than a few pixar movies) but why I said it felt more like a pixar movie than any other disney-movie is because of structure, themes and execution
There is actually a Broadway musical of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. If you get a chance to see it, I highly recommend it. Or at least listen to the soundtrack because there are loads of gorgeous songs in the Broadway version that aren't in the movie.
Coco in Spanish is literally coconut. It is also used in Mexico as nickname for ladies named Socorro as in this movie. It is also used as a slang to refer to someone's head. And finally it is also used to refer to the Boogeyman that will take children in a bag if they misbehave
I want to bring up a line I feel no one talks about. Mama Imelda progressing from no music, to never forgetting how much your family loves you, to finally being “No conditions.” Unconditional love is such a powerful and loving notion. I could analyze it all day of I could. I love this movie
There will never be a time when I'm not crying when I hear Remember Me, and if I'm not its because I'm dead and even in the afterlife I'm sobbing. She not only remembered her father but her daughter as well, because we saw in the beginning she was forgetting her too.
'Coco' is short for 'Socorro', it's great-grandmother's first name, while 'Abuelita' means granny. The word you were thinking about is 'coca', that's the magical white powder. *Wink, wink*
Lol I guessed that Ernesto De la Cruz was not the real great-great-grandfather, and Hector was, mostly because of how careful they were being not to have anyone but Miguel say the his name. It was always "that man" or "that walkaway musician," or "My husband" or something. And Hector was the only other major male dead character. Lol
Not to mention that when Miguel tells his family that Mama Coco’s father was De la Cruz his father says that they know nothing about De la Cruz and his grandmother asks him if he wants to end up forgotten. A famous musician would be on plenty of Ofendas, something that De la Cruz confirms, and not be forgotten but someone who wasn’t known to anyone but friends and family would be in danger of being forgotten if their story wasn’t passed down and their photo put up.
I’m usually good at spotting the plot twists in a movie, but this one totally took me by surprise cuz the movie was so damn good even before it. It didn’t feel contrived at all. What was already a damn great movie went absolutely epic when we realized Hector was his family. And don’t even get me started on the last 10 minutes. For the love of god…
When my daughter was Coco's age in the flashback, she liked to reach her hands out and touch my face - so when that scene came up in the theater, that was when I started crying.
Bless your heart.
The voice of little Coco in the flashback is Gael García Bernal's daughter so Héctor is really singing "Remember Me" with his daughter.

I’ve seen a few reactions to this movie, and I have to say yours is my favorite. You were so interested and seemed to really enjoy it. Thank you for being so honest with your audience.
Every time Miguel is singing to Coco that scene always just reaches into my tear ducts and pulls the tears right out of my eyes.
I always cry.
I know this is late, but I want to say how much I enjoyed your quick-on-the-pickup to the complicated plot of this movie. It gets a 10/10 for comedy, action, and HEART. Yep -- wet eyes all around.
21:50 love the enthusiasm.
Great reaction and I'm glad you didn't catch the biggest twist before it was presented hehe because your reaction was priceless.
I went to see this movie with my mom, an aunt and my grandma so you can imagine the mess I was at the end 😅
There's no need to apologize, my friend - this movie had the same effect on all of us. I wouldn't trust anyone who DOESN'T tear up at the end.
I wasn't crying, my eyes were just pissing!
For the future I wish you faaar more subscribers because you are a real GEM, your reactions are honestly so enjoyable, genuine and ... just great. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
The Castilian pronunciation is "de la Cruth", but in Mexico it's "de la Cruz".
More like, we say 'de la cruth' and for us you say 'de la cruss', i love the different pronuntiations!
The c and z in Spain are pronounced as a th sound, while in Latin America they're pronounced as an s.
You know what? I also enjoyed Coco too. And guess what? My name is Héctor Luis- Lanzó Rivera, and my mother name was Josefina. But everybody used to called her "Pepita". And she used to have the same temperament as Mamá Imelda.
I looove how quickly you pick on clues! You're a genius! 🤣❤️😍
This is one of the best. Always breaks me up, even after all these watches. Good stuff.
I like how the ‘hero’ is the villain
This was one helluva reaction! Thanks mate
I loved how excited you got in certain parts cuz you were so into the movie! You got yourself a new subscriber! 😃
I never really cried at this movie but now i do because what Coco with her dad it hit home for me and made me now cry
28:18 Your reaction to this bit of plot twist though!
OMG this IS the best reaction That i have ever Seen of this movie ! I really likes it !
My mother died two weeks ago and watching this ripped my heart in half. It was a lovely reaction.
I liked your harmony when De La Cruz was singing the finishing note in the concert where he died.
Bless you young man as long as we remember our loves ones they still exist they still here
Lol don't apologize for crying!
34:22 - 34:40 I laughed so hard at this because that’s exactly how I was too😂
Same😂😂😂😂
The way he just bursted out cursing at Ernesto I found it so funny and relatable🤣
I love this movie! Pixar does such a great job at telling stories!
2:58- that is the "Pizza Planet" truck; it is a visual Easter Egg that Pixar puts in just about every film. Look out for it if you do any more.
It’s even in movies that take place in a time were a pizza truck wouldn’t make sense like brave for example.
But like- if my Grandma broke my guitar I would bawl like a baby. I LOVE my guitar and playing it.
i was so excited to see you uploaded a video today, because in the last week i've been binging your old videos after youtube recommended your green mile reaction. they helped me finish my art coursework (despite the fact i was often crying along with you). it's so fun seeing your reactions to such great films, especially such incredible series like lotr and star wars. i wish id discovered you sooner!
"Coco" is also coconut, or short for Consuelo. If you know Spanish, I recommend watching the Spanish version of this movie.
One of the best reaction to this movie I've seen.
No matter how many times I watch this, no matter how many movie reviews I watch of this, I still cry lol
When i watch this movie for the first time i did some research on it so when Pixar's studios went to Mexico they met the real grandmother Coco and family. which this movie is based on and then i learned Pixar's studios isn't giving any royalty checks to the family.
different sources say different things. that she didn’t want royalties but others say pixar just didn’t. not sure what to believe.
This movie is so dang good in every way!!
Man I cry when i see this people Reacting and cry and now I know and I understand that being Conscious and Aware about the amazing fact that we can experience all kind of different feelings and emotions it's something unique
Thank you for recording your reaction! I came for the tears 💦 they were delicious! 😂
Is it normal to cry at someone else's reaction?? Im weird
Your not alone I did too.
I cried cuz coco is freaking happy/sad
hahaha been there :p
No man the only reason I don’t cry at most reactions to disney movies because i’ve seen most of ‘m at least twice.
If you decide to go back and watch the movie again, look closely at the photo Hector wanted Miguel to put up. You'll see something that Papa Hector passed down to his great great grandson. It's my favorite hint.
Suggestion: Big Hero 6
An amazing Disney movie
Big Hero 6 is actually a Disney Movie not one from the Sub studio Pixar
But I agree that it is the most Disney has ever come to the Pixar-Style in their own originals and that's why I probably like it so much 😂
@@latech7671 omg! Thanks so much I’ll have to edit the comment now lol thx 🐱🍕
I didn't find it that amazing. It's really fun throughout but not the most sophisticated ending.
@@EatYourVegs Yea, but it is a good movie (even better than a few pixar movies) but why I said it felt more like a pixar movie than any other disney-movie is because of structure, themes and execution
"THAT WAS HIS MISTAKE"
Yeeesss best movie ever. Nice to see Mexican representation in movie
This is one of the only films to make me cry
"Get 'em PAPITA, get 'em PAPITA" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I died, you changed Pepitas name 😅😅😅 love your reaction 😁😁
One of the best animated movies of all time, so so beautiful.. I cried so much. Such a cute reaction🥺🥺🥺🤍
