If he were a good genie I would give him his freedom from the lamp. If he’s wicked? Sorry dude, you have to stay in the lamp. Can’t have wicked genies roaming around causing havoc!
Aladdin is fascinating to me, because you can clearly see that Hanna Diyab put his own twists and ideas into the story. But if you you have an eye for folktales, you can see that he was using another tale for the groundworks, called "The magic ring" or "The helpful/grateful animals". It is located at place 560 in the Aarne Thompson fairy tale index, and the oldest version I could find is from the oldest european folktale collection, Gianbattista Basile's "Tale of tales" or "Pentameron" (IV, 1 "The rooster's stone").
Aladdin = Alaa al dean Which means praise the faith or religion. The Genie origin comes Djins from old desert folklores. Short version (mischievous desert demons). Solomon was able to communicate and command them. One of the Powerful Djins refused to obey Solomon. He cursed(bannish, punished) that Djin to be a slave to whoever holds the lamp. Before Solomon passed away. He locked all his artifacts away inside a tomb underground. So nobody can find them. He also put barriers that only good at heart person can enter. The rest were pretty similar as in the video. Magical ring Genie who was weaker than the one in the lamp. Wanting to marry the sultan’s daughter. These named places are up for debate so take them with a gain of salt. Sultan was from (Persia Shiraz county) Aladdin was Middle Easten origin. When castle were transported it went from Persia to Africa. (Morocco) . There was no Mention of the roc bird.
I know another fact about Aladdin's story. Aladdin's original name was Ala-lad-din. Over time, the name was corrupted into Aladdin. Also, a Roc is an enormous legendary bird of prey in the popular mythology of the Middle East. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roc_(mythology)
Are you saying aladdin is corrupt to? Arab all name to ddin (mean religion)for religion name like asddin mean lionddin and many more with end ddin to it
Except for the part with the Magicians brother, it looks like Dingo pictures Was pretty close. But why didn't the Magician just use the Ring genie to get the Lamp?
China may have been the location due to the number of Arabs living there, along with Arab conquests of the Western part. There is a famous battle between the Abbasid Army and the Tang Army at the Talas River in the year 751. So cultural overlap certainly existed.
Aladdin is also the blue haired boi who is friends with morgiana and titus alexius and his also known as the 4th magi and the son of king solomon and queen sheba of alma torran.
Give credit for ONCE to the original Arab and muslim writers and translators of the 14th century manuscript Arabian nights: Muhsin Mahdi and Husain Haddawy for their Arabian stories (who were then taken by European writers and Disney lately).
Credit? Those stories were persian, and as usual, muslims stole them. Any "muslim knowledge" was stolen from the persians, greeks, roman and indian knowledge
Yes, Disney always changes the story but sadly, young people hardly read the classics anymore. At least the name of Aladdin is known everywhere thanks to Disney
It's important also to recognize WHAT these people did, as their work is fundamental for modern philological and literary studies on the Thousand and one nights: Muhsin Mahdi was the first to reconstruct and publish the original text of the Thousand and One Nights, and Husain Haddawy was the first one to translate it since Galland and Mahdi. A new, poetic translation based on Mahdi's edition, that also contains Diyab's Orphan Tales recently came out, by British Syrian poet Yasmine Seale and scholar Paulo Lemos Horta.
@@zalkona5051 Funny story to share. I have always loved fairy tales, legends, and ancient lore. So, since I was a child, I researched for the originals. A few decades ago I had bought The Brother's Grimm, and Hans Christian Andersen's collections of tales (his own). But at that time, I had not bothered to sit down to read any of them. One night my sister's children were visiting my children. The oldest were only five. They were all prime to have their favorite Aunt read to them. Two sentences into the chosen tale, I had to do some quick editing. After another two sentences, I chose to read from the 'other' book. Same problem. So I closed the books and just told the kids one of MY made up stories. What I learned that night, and after further reading and studying, is that the original 'childrens' story is not always written for children. The first Disney television show aired in 1954 on the ABC network. I was about four years old then, and we were one of the few families in our neighborhood to own a television at that time. Also, we could not get ABC in our area. So, no Disney exposure for me or my fellow childhood friends. We did have Golden Books, (first published in 1942), although I do not recall reading fairytales from them. But we did have wonderful grandparents, parents, and aunts who read to us or shared stories they had collected. 'Many' of 'MY' generation learned a LOT before the advent of Disney, Golden Books, and even television. And those adventurous readers who searched for more books to read, found them in books from far away places.
One of the original stories that really destroyed my childhood years was of the red hood girl and the bad wolf.... The wolf ate her grandma and after wanted to rape the red hood girl. She told him that she wanted to go to bathroom in order to pee and then she escaped from the window......
@@Lily_of_the_Forestyeah, the original Red Hood was made as a cautionary tale for young women of that time. Interesting. Becuse in Denmark we think that it was Adam Oehlenschläger who wrote the story of Aladdin. It should be closer to the story we know today. And closer to what Disney have used.
At least from the version I read, he literally only sleeps with her, he never touches her. One thing he did tho was ask the genie to put her husband inside a toilet for the whole night which was what broke him and the end and requested the divorce.
