- In this project I am going to Returning 1$ Axe To a Work Of Art!
The ax is very rusty and I had to remove the dents from the axe with a 12V 5A power supply.
First, I removed the rust with a wire brush to allow electricity to flow through the axe.
First, I removed the rust with a wire brush so that electricity would flow in the axe, then I took a bucket of water and poured salt into it to make it conductive, I connected the negative pole to the axe and the positive pole to a piece of iron, and I was able to remove the rust. I will destroy the axes.
After these steps, I washed the axe once with detergent and sandblasted it.
I started filing, but unfortunately, after working for a while, I realized that the axe has a hole and I have to fill it with welding. I stopped the work and started welding. It has been hardened before and I did not heat the blade to change its alloy.
I did most of the steps by hand, especially the sanding to get a nice, flawless finish.
I oxidized the ax with ultra blue solution so that it won't rust again and oiled it and put it in a corner and made an artistic handle for the axe.
I made this handle with pieces of scrap wood I had in the workshop. I cut pieces of wood 3mm thick from the blade and made a hammer design for it, then I glued the 3mm pieces together with wood glue.
I put the sticks between the molds and pressed them with clamps to make them that shape. I was able to give them almost in the form of a bunch because when I bent the mold, the 3 mm bars broke.
And then I started to sharpen the handle of the ax with a saw blade. I have a very nice handle for this ax and every time I look at this ax I feel good because I really did it well (maybe In my opinion)!

My name is Behnam, I was born in 1995
my father and his fathers were carpenters and I entered this field like them, I grew up with tools, I am an artisan and I have an open mind in this field. I always tried to solve any problem easily and with the help of my mind!
So we all have one chance to live! I feel good about bringing old things back and giving them new life
I believe that old tools should not be thrown away, it should be refurbished and reused. I believe that everything that is old is a solid and very resistant structure built with principles.

That’s so kind of you🙏🙏
an ax is an axe, you can have fun with scrap. But the process of making wood for it is fascinating. Incredibly cool idea.
@@wojciecharendmarciniak yes, thanks bro 😉

Thank you my friend ❤️😉
Does anybody know why the rust removal come before sandblasting? Couldn't the rust be removed through sandblasting as well?
Hello. I guess sandblasting seems to be be expensive. So it is more cost effective to remove rust before sandblasting.
The work should proceed at its own pace. Everything has principles
@@HowToRestoration ? How does that relate to my question?
@@FDA1345the rust fouls the media. Easier and cheaper to remove most of the rust first.
Kompliment 👍👍👍
🙏😉
So we're not saving the handle, huh?😅
No 😄❤️
