    Nice day on the water. Trout down due to high temperatures maybe. Still a decent bag.

      I haven't heard many reports from the troutaholics on DC lately. But normally, this time of year, most of the better trout fishing is at least 30 feet deep...and up toward the dam end of the lake...and usually using downriggers. Can't put 'riggers on my tube. Every time I try to screw down the base mounts m,y tube goes flat.

      Thanks. The only thing I had to rely on was my years of experience on Deer Creek to at least find a few. But I sure did miss being able to see the fishy marks to know where they were and at what depth so I could better target them. By making big S turns to vary my depth I did get into a few productive spots to catch what I did.

    thanks for the video, do the walleye tend to hang out in that north "flat" area of the lake? I haven't been able to find them much.

      "Traditionally" the "flats"...between the Island and Charleston...are the best place to target walleye as long as the water levels remain high enough. But every year can be different and the water levels this year are much higher than the last two or three. If you have a boat and good sonar you can scope out other areas for signs of bottom hugging fish and then work on your presentations. But while in a float tube...without sonar...you gotta just guess and pray. I\m hoping that when the water cools in the fall...and water levels drop a bit...that there will be some better walleye action.

    What did you find was wrong with your finder. How did you fix it??

    • @tubedude467
      @tubedude467  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was something I could have fixed on the water...if I could have reached far enough behind me to find the connection. There is a 10 pin connector that converts one wire into two separate transducer wires. I had it taped together but it evidently got pulled just far enough to break the connection. One push and it worked. All's well that ends.

      It's a fun and productive way to fish. I might suggest you look up my video on "60 years of float tubing" at studio.th-cam.com/users/videoZf8_RV_8CjQ/edit

      I made a video on Catfish...Hook to Pan. Part 2 shows filleting catfish. But I plan to make a video in the future on filleting perch and other species. Also one showing some of my fave recipes.
