*Try out Xtreme flakes:* *geni.us/XtremeKrillFlakes* This just in, as of this morning they are sponsoring my fish room with flake and the food I like to feed my goldfish. I am on team xtreme!
I got some new hillstream loaches, and they've been a little slow to adapt new foods. Like, it took days for them to get used to eating Repashy Soilent Green gel food, but now they love it. Just on a whim, I threw in some Xtreme Krill Flakes I got from you at Aquashella, and they immediately came out and started fighting each other to get to the flakes first. Guess that smell really does drive fish crazy!
@@MidnightGeekSS Haha, I just kept offering a little chuck everyday until they finally consumed it. They were in quarantine so it was easy to make sure no other animals were eating it.
The goldfish tank looks more amazing each time I see it. I’m jealous. Lol merry Christmas to you and your family. And all of the Co-Op crew. Wish you all the best
I bought this on sale last month from you! I haven't fed it yet as my tank is still cycling so nothing to feed. It's great to see the endorsement and makes me feel good about my purchase
Cory, thank you for sharing a couple of our premium fish foods with your audience. You are reaching people and we hope those folks will ask their fish stops to give Xtreme a try. We have some great starter packages for fresh and salt water fish stores, including free freight. Again, thanks for all this great publicity. The Xtreme Team
Great vid Cory! Really enjoying the content you're providing. I'm back in the fresh water tropicals after a 20+ year hiatus. Received my first order from Aquarium Coop today! Ordered 12-20 made it to me in Ohio in 3 days! I'm impressed! Plants are planted and look great. Very nice, healthy specimens. Wish the Coop would have been around when I was raising fish before, might not have gotten out. As a so far very satisfied customer I see why your company is growing! Thanks and keep up the good work. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Hi Cory, I am leaving this comment just to let you know that these kind of videos work as intended. I am from Poland visiting Florida and I've ordered that food (together with the general cure which u always recommend) from your website cause I guess thats exactly what I need to bring back home over the ocean lol. Thanks!
Yep, my Bettas enjoy this food just as much as their pellets. All my fish like the krill flakes, and the texture or the flake makes it possible for small fish to tear bits off of larger flakes, which is cool. Good stuff.
Used this food for years.. absolutely love it.. always ordered it online. I looked at ingredients list of course but not much else. Happened to glaze over the entire label one day and my mind was blown. It's made in my home town of 32 years. Great stuff
for controlling the amount of food I put in the tank I find pellets are great. I grind up krill or plankton and use it as a fry food. The astaxanthin in these two products is very high and will provide a natural pigment for vivid skin color. I also mix the krill powder in with the pellet food.
Great! I have a school of Pristellas that have become super picky, and will only eat every few days because they just don't seem to like anything I feed them. I'm going to try this food! Thank you, Cory!
Got some from you at Aquashella! Thanks. My fish seem to love it. Love your videos you have inspired me with some of my youtube videos. My discus tank loves it, my guppy take loves it, and my south American cichlids also love it.
Great video. Thank you so much. I've recently purchased 3 top minnow pikes 2 inches. May I ask your opinion how I can get them to eat non live foods. We are going on 5 days. Can you recommend something. Thank you so much I'm at my wits end. Thank you. Keep up the he great work. I've tried cut shrimp and whiting fish and bug bites, I have them in a 50 gallon with 20 voracious golden wonder's
I got the sample from you at Aquashella. And I give it to my gouramis, my Angel's, and even my panda Corys love it. Thank you so much. Its become one of my favorite
Hi Cory: Would you recommend feeding Xtreme Krill flakes to 4-5” blood parrot cichlids to boost their color from orange to red? I've tried so many “color enhancing” pellets without success. Thanks.
The gold fish tank look gorgeous btw. I have a 180 gallon tank that mixed with Congo tetras, two varieties of sererums, a synspilum vieja, tiger silver dollars and cories. I started all of these fish on Omega flake and mini pellets. As they grew I wanted to try Xtreme. They are are cool on the Community Crave foods but warming up slowly to it. I might try this krill based food as a mix in to see how it goes. In the long run id like to use the Xtreme products. I use the community pellet as well but I sure wish it sunk a bit slower.
Cory are you going to be announcing what products you will be selling in Canada? This food? Your Aquarium Co-op sponge filters? I found a source of the same foam at a hardware store but I have to cut it up into useable chunks and silicone them together so it would be nice to get your stuff. Merry Christmas Cory, always a pleasure to watch your work.
Thanks for the great video. Maybe it is out of the topic but I would really like to see a video about fish diseases covering common diseases , diagnosing and treating them. Another important point is disease transmission to humans via fish. Thanks a lot for all the efforts.
Hey Cory, I just wanted to ask a random question about some driftwood I got for my new aquarium. So I have it in there in for two weeks and it's not yet waterlogged but my main problem is the horrible stench that comes from it. The water or the plants do not smell bad , only the wood does. It has also grown some white fungus-like stuff on it. Do you have any idea what's wrong with it? Should I take it out or boil it?
Plenty of vids on TH-cam discussing it. Fungus bacteria 🦠 that’s not going to hurt the fish. Pleco’s eat it & so are my Stiphodon’s. It’s my current situation without the rotting stench though 😊
Hey. Thanks for the great content. I just have a stocking related question if you dont mind. I have a 55 gallon tank currently stocked with 4 dwarf gourami's (1M 3F) 4 Platies, 11 White Clouds and 1 small bristlenose pleco. Do you think there is room for anymore fish? And can i put a Kribensis in there, or would it not get along with the Gourami's. Many thanks 👍
Merry Christmas to you and yours, Cory. I received the sponge filters, so far, so good! I'm loving my day of watching neverending, TH-cam fish videos!! 🐟🦐🐠 🌲
Our rural shop has poor selection but I got some Xtreme sinking pellets for my cherry barbs. I can't find straight information on whether they prefer sinking food or floating. I've only had them a day or so and haven't noticed a pattern. I borrowed our betta's flakes to experiment. One meal they only went for the pellets and ignored the flakes completely (until they sank to the bottom, that is) and the next time only one dove for the pellet while the others chased the flakes. I couldn't tell which Xtreme flakes would be the best for an omnivorous fish so I didn't buy any. They only had the giant jars that were $25 so I didn't want to take the gamble. I only have the 6 in a tank by themselves so not sure I could get through it before the food rots even if they did like it. I was also considering algae wafers.
For any Aussies I would also recommend 'fish keepers choice' branded fish foods especially their flake food which is made in house/hand made in Australia. can be found distributed through ebay Aus and their online store I wont post links but not to hard to find. My experience with Xtreme foods is their 2mm sinking pellet which my fish really like but has caused some bloat in susceptible species so use with caution.
Got a sample from Cory at Aquatic Experience. (love the sample size) Big enough so you can actually see if the fish like, has become a staple in my food rotation.will be feeding from now on!
My fish love it. Problem I have is the flakes break down into a flour sized treat that only works for fish under 2 inches. I complained to Xtreme and they hand picked a replacement which was as bad as the original container. Fish love it but I cannot use it for the majority of my medium and large fish. They should make the flakes thicker so they are not as fragile
my fish love this stuff. they are not a fan of the micro pellets tho, haha. I never seen a fish spit food out before...then try to eat it again, only to be like "nah man, ew"
I bought some Xtreme flakes that say it's got both spiralina/krill in it. I'm wondering if there's a benefit to buying the spiralina flakes separate from the krill flakes or if the combined flakes should be good enough
I've been using it for a while 4 months ish🤷♂️ I get it locally the spiralina flake is a great dry option for variety from spiralina brine frozen food. I also love the nano pellet. The monster pellet seems like it would be good in the right application maybe baby pleco food.
I've been feeding all my fish extreme foods and they do love it. I do have a question. For color enhancement for long fin Oscars about 8" long. What's the best way to bring it it's colors?
From an earlier video where Cory recommended Xtreme foods, I tried the Xtreme Community Crave flakes (containing both Krill and Spirulina flakes in one jar) for Cherry Shrimp and they absolutely love both flake styles.
I'm wondering since it's a high quality food, would this keep better in the frig after opening? It may not but since it appears there is a lot of krill in the food I would keep it in cool storage in an effort to keep it fresher? I'm glad it comes in a smaller container. Cory can you talk about how long fish food should be kept before dumping it? I know with oxygen exposure with opening and closing would flakes stale? Thanks for so many informative videos!

I feed NLS pellets in the AM and a variety of frozen in PM. If i add this to feeding regimen would it ruin the time it took my fish to get off cheap flakes stores use and accept pellets?
I have bought this from you guys and Amazon. And never got a jar with big flakes. It always looks like its went through a grinder . Fish love it. But its so crushed its kinda a pain to feed
been looking into getting Xtreme food since i saw their video some time back where he was hand mixing the food, but unfortunately i cant find it in Europe...
I haven't done a test between the two specifically. But from my research 20% spirulina is too much that fish can utilize, however I find fish will eat both.
Daaaaang how did you know I was just thinking about flakes last night?! I think I like them better than micro pellets for my tiny fish but the common brands have meh ingredients
The fish I keep are not exactly small. I tend to love the big Cental and South Americans. Would you recommend their “Big Fella” variety for my Managuense over Hikari Bio Gold?
I’m not sure I could say recommend it over, but it would be good to use to vary the diet. Xtreme would be like steak and hikari is hamburger. Most people eat both out of cost etc.
I'm sure it'll not be long till they start getting sold over here. I'd been keen to sample them. I wonder if Cory could organise a sample to be sent over to the UK. I'd be happy to pay for the product and the post and packaging. I wonder if it would be worth while contacting them directly.
I just purchased the spirulina and krill flake food from xtreme. However it breaks down before the fish even get to it and makes the tank really dirty. Unfortunately I'll be going back to Sera flakes. Seems better
Here's a counter take ... Xtreme flakes aren't great for me. I bought the 1 oz size of the Xtreme krill flake at the Aquarium Co-op retail store in Edmonds. But the fish in my two small tanks are not going crazy for it. Right now, I'm literally watching a blue ram take some in, chew on it a bit, spit it back out, and moving on. Other fish are green neon tetras (from Co-op) and an endler and galaxy rasboras from a Greater Seattle Aquarium Society member and they are definitely not devouring this food. I see more Xtreme flake make it to the bottom of my tanks than even something like Tetra Min flakes. I'm resigned to feeding the Xtreme flakes to my pond goldfish when the weather warms up.
As far as flakes go, I’ve been really happy with omega one over the past couple years with no reason to try something else. But maybe I’ll buy a small container and give it a try
You know when I first got the xtreme krill i loved them and my fish still do but as crazy as it sounds the enormous size of the flakes gets to be a pain after awhile. They are huge most larger than a 50 cent piece so with my small fish (various tetras) i have to grind them up before feeding. Sounds like a small issue and it is but after a few months just a tiny annoyance when you consider how easy it would be for them to just chop up their flakes just a little. Certainly a good food but just sharing if you have smaller fish
ive looked into that brand flake food . it seems just like any other big box store brand the first ingredient is fish meal on the flakes i looked at, to me thats disappointing, tropic zone and omega have salmon as first ingredient and that seems to keep my tank much cleaner
@@AquariumCoop i tried the krill he looked and turned away he does eat fluval flakes sometimes, on another note, i have a planted 10 gallon that just spikes with algae sometimes any idea why or how to keep that from happening?

Krill has pigments that get assimilated by fish when eaten, thus making them more vibrant. If I remember correctly, fish with reds will benefit the most with krill.

How can I get a sample?

You know when I first got the xtreme krill i loved them and my fish still do but as crazy as it sounds the enormous size of the flakes gets to be a pain after awhile. They are huge most larger than a 50 cent piece so with my small fish (various tetras) i have to grind them up before feeding. Sounds like a small issue and it is but after a few months just a tiny annoyance when you consider how easy it would be for them to just chop up their flakes just a little. Certainly a good food but just sharing if you have smaller fish
Wow a lot of people raving about it. Very cool.
ive looked into that brand flake food . it seems just like any other big box store brand the first ingredient is fish meal on the flakes i looked at, to me thats disappointing, tropic zone and omega have salmon as first ingredient and that seems to keep my tank much cleaner
I tried to give this to my betta today and he didn’t eat it! He only likes brime is that okay ?
It's best to get them to eat more than just the brine shrimp, but for now it's ok.
@@AquariumCoop i tried the krill he looked and turned away he does eat fluval flakes sometimes, on another note, i have a planted 10 gallon that just spikes with algae sometimes any idea why or how to keep that from happening?
Does anybody know a place where I can order these and be shipped international? I live in Romania and would love to give these a try
