  • One of a Plethora of entry level SLR cameras that came out in the 90's. This is a very low cost way into the Nikon system but like all these "starter" cameras one can also outgrow it (having bought into the system first). For some reason the F60 seem to attract a degree of criticism that similar cameras don't seem to. Is it unjustly maligned or it there something fundamentally wrong?

I have just bought a F60 for £4.89 on ebay . I have not tested it yet but it appears to be well made and will work with my af lenses , thanks for the video.

Thank you. Enjoyed. Bumped into one of these, in great condition, at a Goodwill thrift store for $9.95 sans lens. Took a gamble and purchased it. Bought a Nikkor short telephoto from Ebay and attached it. Boom. Great little camera! Have since added a Nikkor 50mm AF f/1.8. Took the kit on a couple of road trips and collected some excellent pictures running in full auto 90% of the time. It's now one of my favorite shooters.

Thankyou, very helpful video. I picked one up in great condition (even came with a unused roll of film!) on EBay for $60 Australian recently. At that price it was worth a chance and I quite enjoy the idea of saving these old cameras. On my first attempt at playing with I somehow triggered the dreaded error message, which is apparently something to watch out for, however some more fiddling and the help,of the included original camera manual sorted it out and I’ve had no issue since. Haven’t finished my complementary roll of film yet but am exited to see how it performs 😊

Bought one, put 3 rolls throught it.. the "limiting" factors on this camera i dont find limiting at all.. i really liked going back to 1 focus point.. i found myself shooting alot quicker.. i got the matching lenses, and the 300mm is fantastic, excellent seperation and a little natural vinietting wich looks good.. i am definitely slowing down on buying a f4

Can’t go wrong for the prices. I have the black version and especially enjoy the viewfinder and the on/off button placement. A bit on the heavy side but grip is my fav of all film cams. She’s staying in my rotation for now. Also tried F80 but viewfinder was too small and dim in comparison. Do you know the max ISO film this camera accepts?

      Hello Prizepictures,
Thank you for your comment. It will read DX codes from 25 ISO to 5000. It also has up to -3 ecposure compensation so if you had 5000ISO DX'ed film and set -3 it would rffectivly be 40,000 ISO but I don't think that would be very useful!
      Kind regards
      MVC
