Getting 5% damage isn’t hard, even though it was for me when I first reached C rank. At the time, I couldn’t figure out how to get 5%. But honestly, you don’t need an S-rank weapon to deal significant damage. On the Attack Titan, there’s a specific weak point - it’s like a red skull surrounded by red lines (I’m not sure how to describe it better) - that moves around on the Titan’s body. If you hit this weak spot, you deal a lot of damage. Just focus on hitting this marker, and you’ll easily hit 5%, even without an S-rank sword. That’s what I did when I was still at C rank, and it worked for me. Hitting the nape of the Titan also gives you some damage percentage, but it’s not as effective as hitting the weak point Still, it can help. Now, if you're a lower rank (or even a higher rank but without serum), I suggest you don’t try to solo the raid. Even with an S- rank blade, it would take longer to finish the raid alone than to do it with randoms or friends. Plus, most random players with serum will actually let you get your 5% damage before they kill Eren. I’ve only run into a couple of people with serum, and every single one of them gave us the time to hit the weak point and get our 5% before finishing the raid. The main point I’m making is: focus on hitting the weak point for massive damage. Crypto pointed this out too, and it really works.

If you are prestige 1 with Yeager you can go down to every perk slot get lethal tempo and still have all the Yeager stuff unlocked

i personally found it safer to go for the nape everytime on eren when i used ODM, i got 5% without dying more consistently
