    Thank you for the tips! One question tho, how many projects do you recommend that you have (at least) in the portfolio? Are we talking about 5, 15, or 40 projects?

    • @thegamedevchannel3063
      @thegamedevchannel3063  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think around 5 is good, the number doesn't matter really though but make sure they are really good themselves

      @@thegamedevchannel3063 Okey, so 5 good projects is better than 10 decent ones?

      @@emilekroth100 a lot better yeah :) doesn't have even be as high as 5 if they're good, quality over quantity

      @@thegamedevchannel3063 Ok, thank you! But one last question, if you dont mind, should you only have finished games in your portfolio or could for example a level from an unfinished game be in the portfolio as long as that level is of high quality?

      @@emilekroth100 even just a level is great. You control what you show so you don't have to show that it's unfinished :)

    Hello! So portfolio are just videos/screenshots of myself playing the game, some pieces of code, 3d models and other stuff? I thought that you have to create something like a website and to place them all there.

    One question though, I'm looking forward to creating one for myself but the problem is majority of my work are courses. Is it ok to showcase them?

    Should I put projects that I'm doing to learn something on the portfolio even if they're small??

    I have a question. If I Created a game but in this I took the sprites from an asset store and the audio sources from internet can I add it in a portfolio? this because the part that interests me about developing a video game is programming. so i am trying to learn how to use unity but without dealing with the graphics or the sounds

    • @thegamedevchannel3063
      @thegamedevchannel3063  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      That's honestly fine, if you're going for a programming position then it's more about the mechanics you've implemented than the assets

    Your courses look awesome on udemy.. I'm joining them soon, is ds algo necessary as well for game dev?

      @thegamedevchannel3063  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, thanks for the support! I don't actually have any courses on Udemy yet, I have one that I started up but didn't finish and publish yet so I hope you're not thanking the wrong person haha
      I wouldn't say they're necessary but they definitely help in certain situations. I suppose it's better to know about them than not know about them :)
