- Please read: On Wednesday, 20th November 2013, a Virgin Train working the 10.10 London Euston - Chester collided with the buffers at Chester Station, derailing in the 'bay' platform.
Me and my friend found out about this via the internet and decided to head down to Chester to see the damage for ourselves.

Wow, using platform 1 for a change.
They usually do unless it’s a 10 car service
Where trains still running?
I know the driver that crashed this....it skidded on leaves and it was just like ice...
ChArDy JaY of course you know the driver, please don't lie lying is bad
Train.Spotter.UK I do know the driver I worked on the station...he has been driving for 30years. It locked up on a pile of leaves and he actually destroyed his own bike parked in the bike rack by the buffers.
When i went to Coventry in August 2014, I was on that train
were you ok?
Where is the buffers don’t like to be eaten message

How did the virgin train get derailed that must of hurt the driver and passenger s that were on that train from wherever that came to Chester

Wow
I suggest it’s brake failure which speared the voyager into the buffers and took a huge damage to the front end of the voyager
I think you are right, the RAIB have since done a report on the incident.
it was a problem with the sanding syetem
Poor Voyager
