I found her through a drama hotel del luna. At first i was like what a pretty and cute girl... Few episodes later i came to know how good actress she is. Few days later i saw a TH-cam shorts of her live performing through the night. Since then she is my favourite singer. Everday i feel I love her a little more than yesterday. She is my favourite celebrity in the whole world. P.s. i liked loo's character more in previous videos but now i feel i gradually falling for lean's personality 😂😂. You both are a perfectly balanced duo as sassy and soft girls.

I have heard her greatness years ago but I just became a really big fan last year and it was such good timing too because I was always stressed out and anxious every day at that time but when I started to listen to her music and watched her videos, it gave back my strength and joy. Unlike other reactors, it's nice to see you guys having deep conversations and enjoying it through IU. Maybe it's because you're writers. Since the age of 23, IU has written almost her own song lyrics, lyrics are very poetic and contain good metaphors. I'm glad that I met people who can recognize it. Most of IU's songs have relatively less explosive rhythms or melodies like other idol songs. But if you listen to it for a long time, it's comfortable and addictive. She was living separately from her parents for years (financial troubles), living with her grandmother and relatives...attending 3 different middle schools, and she was happy to basically live at the company training studio and have access to food and a place to sleep. That makes you pretty tough - and also very loyal to everyone around her. Her IU Team is recognized essentially as an extended family. I'd suggest watching IU TV episodes. Discovering IU was the best thing that happened to me... I really changed a lot when i started supporting her, i became more humble and a lot more kinder because of her.. she.. really inspires me a lot. If information about IU's struggle with Patulous Eustachian Tube affecting her singing could be added, it would make it even more comprehensive.

What does Uaena mean?
‘You’(U) is from English, ‘ae’(愛) is Sino-Korean for ’love‘, and ‘na’(나) is Korean for ‘me’. IU’s official Daum fancafe used to be called ‘U愛나 Fancafe’ and over time, IU’s fans were called ‘Uaena’. Eventually, IU’s official fanclub started recruiting in 2017 and is also called ‘UAENA’.
Why are IU fans also called biscuits or star candies?
IU said on her fancafe that male fans are 건빵 (geonbbang or biscuits) because that’s her favourite snack and female fans are 별사탕 (byeolsatang or star candy) because IU used to have very few female fans, just like the rare star candies you would find in a pack of biscuits. Also, antis are milk.
What else does IU call uaena?
IU has also called uaena 제비꽃 or ‘violet flowers’ as her fans are quiet, but always there for her. She used the message, ‘Violet flowers, I’m always on your side’ for her first soundwave (couple) ring with uaena and also used the violet flower logo on one side of her custom in-ear monitors (the other side is the uaena logo).

It’s hard to find a documentary of IU depicting her past cuz she hasn’t really disclosed her childhood struggles much in interviews. I’ve personally never seen her talk about it, other than one on YT of a man narrating her life of poverty, but don’t know about its accuracy.

it's true IU is someone who loves to go against the norm...well nothing illegal..hahhaha example is for the song Autumn Morning ...for music to chart well they release the song at midnight but for IU its ridiculous why would i release it at midnight when it should be release in the morning so people listening can relate to the song more..She did and at the beginning its not charting well but she is IU she took over all the charts and reach the number 1 spot in no time...also the song through the night she release it at 5 or 6 cause for her music is more important and she was able to prove it her songs stayed in the top 200 for over years not only one but a lot of it...and her song go back to chart every year like not spring love or cherry blossoms and Merry Christmas in advance. i like her philosophy in life. Even when she was 18 she speak wisdom. her mom wants her to study in college but she talk to her heart to heart that since she is busy she cannot properly go to school and its unfair for other students that goes everyday but she promise that she will study music from harmony to production and anything related to creating music and will not slack off. compare to people who go to schools she actually have an advantage cause she learned from experts like writing songs. She learn it from the number 1 most awarded song writer in Korea. she is clever indeed.
