Hi archita , such a great video. We are planning to visit on december end. Shahdag and gabala. May i know what type of shoes should we wear ? Im a bit confused. What shoes in snow regioj and what in baku or city places. Thanks in advance
Hi Aarthy, we would recommend to wear comfortable walking shoes while in Baku or city as you would be walking a lot there. For snow, if it's heavy snow, then it's better to get snow proof shoes from woodland or decathlon so that water doesn't go inside or if you have waterproof boots, they should also work. Let us know if you need any other help

New City: Funicular Ride + Carpet Museum + Little Venice Gondola Ride + Martyr Alleys + Boulevard Area + Baku Eye (Ferris Wheel). Stay at Baku. This is a very good itinerary for summers. you won't find snow in Gabala so you can skip those and anyways you are going to Shahdag. You can also include yanardag - the burning mountain and fire temple on day 3 or day 6. These attractions are also beautiful
The detail expenses and rate of rides are present in the individual videos. You can find them in the same playlist. is there any particular attraction you want to know the price of?
We stayed at the best view hotel in Nizami street and it's not recommended. Few other places that we considered are Grand midway hotel and 7 boutique hotel, which are very close to Nizami street you can check this. In old town, you can check two seasons boutique hotel and Promenade hotel
Hi Archita, great video. Sorry i am probably writing you back again… i lost the video where i ask the question. Can you help me with the details from where i can a book a cab for Qabala and Shahdaq if i have to do a 1 night stay over there.
We stayed at the two seasons boutique hotel for 4k per night. The room is very basic but the staff is super friendly and helped us a lot in planning our days in Azerbaijan l. Also, the location is amazing for this and the cost was 4k per night. Only drawback was no lift. We also considered promenade hotel Baku, it also has amazing location and within the budget range.
Hi, I am glad you enjoyed the video so we went to Azerbaijan in the 1st week of November, the weather was very pleasant and we went to two hill stations Gabala and Shadag, where we encountered snow
You can find snow in Azerbaijan in December, especially in higher altitudes. While the capital, Baku, and other lowland areas along the Caspian Sea generally experience mild winters with little to no snow, the mountainous regions, such as the Greater Caucasus, often receive snow during December. These areas, including popular destinations like Shahdag and Gabala, are known for their winter sports resorts and snowy landscapes during the winter months.

Nice Detailed Video. Thanks a lot. I was planning azerbaijan in coming months. If we have our hotel near to nizami street, is it possible to use local transport for baku city. If yes, how to get that?
You can use bolt app, which is similar to Uber. Uber is also available in Baku and local taxis are also there. In our experience, service and rates of bolt app are much better. You can also avail metro but bolt would be easy way to go from one place to another as metro is far away from attractions. Do subscribe to the channel if you find this helpful
Hello Archita. I am truly inspired by your video to visit AZ in 2025. I am from Africa and do not get EVisa. Filling the forms for online filling through the embassy, I came across a question " Inviting party to the republic of AZ". Did you or other viewers see this question, and how did you respond?
Thank you so much. South African nationals are eligible for EVisa for Azerbaijan. From where are you applying and which type of visa application are you applying for. You should be able to get Evisa in 48 to 72 hours.
If you plan your trip during late December or around Christmas, there’s a good chance that you’ll find snow. Hotels will be more expensive during holiday season, remaining everything should be same only.
There are restaurants at the coast of Caspian sea, but no cruise or boat tours. For kids, there are lots of interesting activities like mud volcano, fire mountain, carpet museum, museum of miniature books, funicular ride to highland park, doll museum in Heyder Aliyev Centre and so on
Hi, I am planning to go toBaku in october this yr and have a stay in Shahdag for a night. I wanted to check onto the option of returing to baku from Shahdag and how much does it cost. I am travelling as a family.
We used a cab to go to Shahdag. We stayed there for 2 nights and the same can driver picked us back on the 3rd day. There's also 1 bus option but its not direct and yoi have to change at Guba. As you are traveling with family, more the people less the cost per head
Hi Anisha, We took a private taxi to both the places. Gabala 2 days trip cost was 17000 INR while Shahdag trip was 15000 INR. There are also day trips or 2 days trips to these places through tour operators so you can do that as well.

Hi Archita, thanks for sharing all the information with us. I wanted to understand , you had visited Gabala and Shahdag and stayed there. How did you manage the transport? Was it like only drop to the respective places and you booked another transport for return OR is it like the transport stayed with you?
Hello, we booked a full time cab for us to Shahdag and Gabala which took us to all the places on the way as well. The driver stayed with us, but we didn't had to pay anything extra like toll, parking or driver allowance apart from the pre decided amount. Hope this helps. Feel free to reach out for any other questions
Hi Archita, what was the temperature when you visited there. Is it recommended to travel with 1.5yr old kid during 2nd week of December. Btw, nice summary much helpful..!
More than the temperature, it's the windy weather which would make you feel more cold. We used a single pullover or jacket and that was sufficient. We went in the first week, so the second week would be colder but the temperature would not fall below 0. You can travel with kids at that time with proper clothing and winter wear and comfortable shoes
Hi, absolutely love your videos..We are planning to visit baku in October..What can we expect whether in October..and also any local tour operator if you have suggestions..
Thank you so much for the kind words. October is a good time to go, although you won't find much snow but the weather is pleasant and windy. We have mentioned the number of the tour operator in the video. Do DM us on Instagram and will share that again if you can't find it
Mud volcano me dip lekar nahaneka kya suvidha hai. Is there any facility to take shower and change cloths. Also is toilets availble on the way easily as its top imp. Thing for us. Does hotel toilets have jet spray
We didn’t see anyone taking a dip in the mud volcanoes, you can however touch them also you’ll find restroom at gobustan and yanardag (burning mountain) Also the hotels we stayed at had jet sprays
I must say one of the best videos for Azerbaijan I have seen. Very informative and detailed one. One question though - did you contact the driver post reaching Baku or can we book him in advance?
We stayed at the two season boutique hotel in the old town. It's a cozy hotel with only 4 rooms, but there's no lift, although the staff helps you with the luggage. We also liked promenade hotel on the Baku boulevard, so you can consider that as well
Hi iam nithya ..we r planning to visit Azerbaijan in dec end....during christmas how will be the city Shall we visit city on christmas time or shahdag which s best
Hi Nithya, the weather will be pleasantly cold, you'll need winter clothing for sure. Vibe in the city is very amazing due to Christmas, it's a beautiful time there. Shahdag also is winter wonderland so you can spend Christmas anywhere
Thanks for the informative video. We are planning to visit mid December. Can you please guide us how to travel between Baku-Shahdag-Gabala? Can we rent car from there itself? Thanks!
Sure, we hired a cab which took us all the places and the cab stayed with us for the entire time. You can also rent a car for self driving, a lot of people do that as well. Roads are in good condition so self driving is not an issue
Baku to Shahdag cost us around INR 17k, where we stayed for 2 nights. Baku to Gabala cost us around INR 17.5K where we did a trip of 2 days. This includes all the toll parking fuel and driver charges. You can also negotiate more to get a better deal
Hi In your video you mentioned you came back to Baku from Gabala and then went to Shahdag the next day Can you tell me if we can go to Shahdag directly from Gabala ?
Hi Rishu, In September you won't find snow in both these regions, so we would recommend Shahdag as here you can enjoy Mountain roller coaster, zip lining, quad biking. Also, if you wish to stay, the resorts here are cheaper as compared to that of Gabala. Let us know if you have any other questions and do subscribe if you find it helpful
Hi Saiba, you can apply directly on the Azerbaijan evisa website and get in 48 hours. Make my trip or any other platform would charge you additional fees as well in addition to visa fees
Pratik - you can find tons of Indian restaurant which serve veg food in Nizami street. You can also find jain food there and the you don't even have to look for it. On Nizami street, restaurant owners will lure you in after recognising you as Indian/Pakistani with delicacies name like daal makhni, butter paneer, biryani and so on. We ourselves ate at around 5 different restaurant and the food was good. Apart from North Indian, you can very easily find Pizzas pastas, rice based dishes and traditional Qutab with vegetarian fillings like cheese, herbs, avocado and so on. For a chai lover like you, you can also find adrak masala chai there, but it was not as good as we have it here
August is a good time to visit Baku. Weather is pleasant and sunny with no rains and not so hot as well. However, you won't be able to enjoy snow in hill stations of Azerbaijan
Hi we four senior citizens want to go azarbaijan for first time on our own . But i m not sure how we can handle it. We can book flights visa and hotels prior. But is it good to book one car wid driver for whole trip .will it becheap ? And wtt abt distances from one to other place u went each day. If its more than 150 km we betterstay thereat that day i think. Pl guide me .we r from bbay. Als wts appx cost of food for pp daily incl dinner and lunch. Which hotel u stayed pl give details. Visa easy milega kya. First we have to apply visa or book hotel flights?
Hi, see responses to your queries below: 1. Visa - process is very easy, we got our visa in 48 hours, you do not need to have flight bookings for the same 2. If you plan to go to shahdag or gabala, you can books stay there as it would take 2-3 hours to go there. You can do so visa private cabs. Also, there are lots of tour companies who organize 1 and 2 day trips which are very convenient and profressional, so you can book those as well. They are usually not very expensive 3. For food, if you plan to ear Indian veg food, it would cost around 1500-2000 for 2 people. If you are okay with non-veg food, then it's really cheap and would be around 900-1100 for a meal for 2. Let us know if you have any more questions. Hotel details along with price per night stay are mentioned in the video.
June would be relatively warm and you won't be able to enjoy snow activities, but nevertheless you can enjoy beautiful summer over there. If possible, try to plan towards later half of the year for more pleasant experience.
Yes you might In fact we were in Azerbaijan in the last week of November only and we did see snow However to see best of snow and to experience snow fall the ideal time should be between mid December to January
Hi can you give me an average price for food in Azerbaijan? Or Baku in general and outside Baku.. both street foods or cafes for shawarma, dolma, chicken lavangi etc for per person and for a couple Also can you suggest some good affordable cafes or street food joints in around nizami street?
We ate vegetarain food which is usually expensive. You can expect around INR 1000-1500 per meal 2 people, sometimes even less that that. It's a heaven for non-veg eaters and the rates are also on the cheaper side. In Old town, there's a cafe called Salaam Baku which is really nice and one more cafe jsut besides that which has a basement and live music, I don't recall the same but i t was also really nice.
You would have to take a connecting flight either via Mumbai or Delhi. We went in December start last year from Delhi and that was affordable. You can check skyscanner or Google flights to compare prizes across months. Except for flights, I don't think the cost would vary much for anything else.
Hi Travel Clever, you are correct. We hired a taxi for 2 days to gabala which took us to all the attractions and pick up and drop. For Shahdag, the the taxi dropped us on one day and picked on another. We didn't keep the taxi with us as our resort was close to the tourism centre and everything at shahdag is at the tourism centre itself. Hope you find this helpful and do subscribe to the channel for more such videos
We asked our hotel reception to help Nd they provided us wuth the cab driver details. You can also reach out to cab drivers on road and they can also help. Kindly DM on Instagram and we can then share our cab driver details. You can go with them as they were very professional and we didn't have any issue while traveling with them
Sanaa, I looked the different options and the rates have increased significantly in last 2-3 months. Azerbaijan is gaining tourism recently and the prices might have increased because of the increased demand. Holiday package sale is going on in MMT. You can talk to them if you can get a complete package at discount
Gobustan day tour would cost around 85-90 manat per person. For gabala, the day tour would cost around 120 AZN per person in shared transfer. Shahdag would also cost roughly the same
Hi , I have planned to visit Azerbaijan in may basically from 19th may to 23rd May, from Delhi, so I need some help regarding the itinerary Can you suggest which can I skip in May out of the below 3 1. Gabala+ shamakhi 2. Guba + shahadag 3. Gobustan + yanardag Given its May and everyone is telling me to take 2 days to roam and experience the city Baku, so I have to skip one of the above What is your suggestion? One thing I can do is since I am going to qobustan on 22nd and my flight is at 1.40 am on 23rd, and I guess by 11pm I have to reach the airport, so will it be better if I visit half the city on 19th and then the remaining part after I come back from qobustan at 6pm? I guess in that way I don’t have to skip any of the above? Please suggest on this
Weather is going to be pleasant in Baku with moderate sunshine and winds. In hill stations, it's unlikely that you'll find fresh snowfall. @@Architakala I am planning a trip to Baku and Tbilisi from India in the month of December...it is a solo trip. How many days are good enough and any suggestion for planning a itinerary.
Hi Ayan, apologies we missed this comment. You can do a 9-10 days trip for both the countries with dividing equally between both the places as both offer very unique experience. While Azerbaijan is more modern, Georgia is more close to nature. If you want to visit only capital cities then 6-7 should be more than enough. I must say one of the best videos for Azerbaijan I have seen. Very informative and detailed one. One question though - did you contact the driver post reaching Baku or can we book him in advance?
We contacted him after reaching there, but if you’ve an itinerary then you can get in touch with him in advance as well
Will it be hectic with kids if we do 1 day trip to shadagh and next day we go for gebele for a day trip?kindly tell.please..
we are visiting Azerbaijan from 1st to 7th November.
Is this the best time to visit, according to weather conditions
Yes the weather is gonna be just amazing, make sure to carry pullovers and jackets with you
Where did u stay, can you suggest budget hotels for family in Baku
We stayed at the two season boutique hotel in the old town. It's a cozy hotel with only 4 rooms, but there's no lift, although the staff helps you with the luggage. We also liked promenade hotel on the Baku boulevard, so you can consider that as well
❤❤nice 👌
Hi iam nithya ..we r planning to visit Azerbaijan in dec end....during christmas how will be the city
Shall we visit city on christmas time or shahdag which s best
Hi Nithya, the weather will be pleasantly cold, you'll need winter clothing for sure. Vibe in the city is very amazing due to Christmas, it's a beautiful time there. Shahdag also is winter wonderland so you can spend Christmas anywhere
Thankyou so much...dear for transportation how can we manage
We used a private taxi to go to Shahdag and gabala. In Baku, you can use public transport. Cabs are also very affordable in Baku
@@ArchitakalaThank you for your response! We will prefer hiring a car. Can you please guide us how/where from can we hire a car?
Can you please DM on @akshayjain07 on Instagram for the same
@@Architakala yes, sure.
Helo we are also planning for mid december
Hi, how much does a cab cost from Baku to Shahdag and Baku to Gabala? I’m planning to stay there for a night or two.
Baku to Shahdag cost us around INR 17k, where we stayed for 2 nights. Baku to Gabala cost us around INR 17.5K where we did a trip of 2 days. This includes all the toll parking fuel and driver charges. You can also negotiate more to get a better deal
Hi is February a good time to visit
Yeah Feb is a beautiful time to visit. You'll find plenty of snow there, so it'll be cold there but beautiful
Hi
In your video you mentioned you came back to Baku from Gabala and then went to Shahdag the next day
Can you tell me if we can go to Shahdag directly from Gabala ?
Hi
Yes you can it’ll take about 6 hrs from Gabala to reach shadag
@@Architakala
So the route is via Baku only ?
Isn’t there a shorter route directly between gabala and Baku ?
The route will go from very close to Baku city only
We are planning in September and confused between shahdag and Gabala! Plesse help.
The budget you mentioned is that per person or for a couple?
Hi Kanika, the budget mentioned is for a couple. I traveled there with my husband
i am flying to azerbaijan in april first week
how will be the weather
will it snow in hill station?
Flying second week! :)
How much time does make my trip take to get the visa for azerbaijan?? Any idea then please tell
Hi Saiba, you can apply directly on the Azerbaijan evisa website and get in 48 hours. Make my trip or any other platform would charge you additional fees as well in addition to visa fees
Hi, how do we manage luggage when we go to gabala
Are you planning to do a day trip or stay in gabala?
What about veg food options?
Pratik - you can find tons of Indian restaurant which serve veg food in Nizami street. You can also find jain food there and the you don't even have to look for it. On Nizami street, restaurant owners will lure you in after recognising you as Indian/Pakistani with delicacies name like daal makhni, butter paneer, biryani and so on. We ourselves ate at around 5 different restaurant and the food was good. Apart from North Indian, you can very easily find Pizzas pastas, rice based dishes and traditional Qutab with vegetarian fillings like cheese, herbs, avocado and so on. For a chai lover like you, you can also find adrak masala chai there, but it was not as good as we have it here
Can we go to ajerbaijan tour in August month?
Yeah you can go, although the weather would be hot at that time. If possible, plan to go during winters as it's beautiful there
Is august good time for ajerbaijan trip??
Hi, see responses to your queries below:
1. Visa - process is very easy, we got our visa in 48 hours, you do not need to have flight bookings for the same
2. If you plan to go to shahdag or gabala, you can books stay there as it would take 2-3 hours to go there. You can do so visa private cabs. Also, there are lots of tour companies who organize 1 and 2 day trips which are very convenient and profressional, so you can book those as well. They are usually not very expensive
Is June a good time to visit ?
June would be relatively warm and you won't be able to enjoy snow activities, but nevertheless you can enjoy beautiful summer over there. If possible, try to plan towards later half of the year for more pleasant experience.
Is november good time to visit? Will i get snow in shahdag?
Yes you might
In fact we were in Azerbaijan in the last week of November only and we did see snow
However to see best of snow and to experience snow fall the ideal time should be between mid December to January
Ok..thank you for the information!
Our pleasure
Let us know if you have any further questions
Nice 🙌🙌
Thanks 🔥
Hi can you give me an average price for food in Azerbaijan? Or Baku in general and outside Baku.. both street foods or cafes for shawarma, dolma, chicken lavangi etc for per person and for a couple
Also can you suggest some good affordable cafes or street food joints in around nizami street?
We ate vegetarain food which is usually expensive. You can expect around INR 1000-1500 per meal 2 people, sometimes even less that that. It's a heaven for non-veg eaters and the rates are also on the cheaper side. In Old town, there's a cafe called Salaam Baku which is really nice and one more cafe jsut besides that which has a basement and live music, I don't recall the same but i t was also really nice.
@@Architakala Thank you so much for your prompt and detailed replies, it’s helping me a lot for my trip in May
@@Architakala i guess the name of the other restaurant is qaynana restaurant? I heard good things about this place
Is December a good month to travel to this place?
December is a wonderful time to visit Baku. Pleasant weather, little cold but bearable. At some places, you can find snowfall and snow as well.
@@Architakala thanks for the reply .
Also can you tell me which would be the budget friendly time to visit this place if you are going from Kerala?
You would have to take a connecting flight either via Mumbai or Delhi. We went in December start last year from Delhi and that was affordable. You can check skyscanner or Google flights to compare prizes across months. Except for flights, I don't think the cost would vary much for anything else.
Is november end good time to go???
Hello friend, November end is a beautiful time to go. Even we went to Azerbaijan in last week of November last year. You'll have a lovely time there
How did you travel to gabala and shahdag I mean did you hire a taxi with driver for 2 days
Hey Archita It will be a great help if you can tell me how did you book a taxi. For both the places. Subscribed the channel
We asked our hotel reception to help Nd they provided us wuth the cab driver details. You can also reach out to cab drivers on road and they can also help. Kindly DM on Instagram and we can then share our cab driver details. You can go with them as they were very professional and we didn't have any issue while traveling with them

Hi,
May I know, how much was Taxi charge form Baku to Gabala for 2 days.
And also Baku to shadag.
Direct flight or connecting flight from Mumbai are so expensive around 40-50k ,any idea how to book cheap flights?
Hi Sanaa, when are you planning to travel to Azerbaijan?
@@Architakala last week of April or 1st week of May
very good
Where r u searching the flights on? Am getting them for around 24k for second week of April- one way that is.
Sanaa, I looked the different options and the rates have increased significantly in last 2-3 months. Azerbaijan is gaining tourism recently and the prices might have increased because of the increased demand. Holiday package sale is going on in MMT. You can talk to them if you can get a complete package at discount
June-july mein jaa skte h yahan ??? Garmi toh nai hogi ??
June- August is considered as Azerbaijan’s hottest and sunniest time of the year..
In which month you went to Azairbaijan?
We visited in last week of November and first week of December 2023

Which month u went?
We went in last week of November and first week of December 2023
👍👍👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Cost of day tours??
Gobustan day tour would cost around 85-90 manat per person. For gabala, the day tour would cost around 120 AZN per person in shared transfer. Shahdag would also cost roughly the same
Hi , I have planned to visit Azerbaijan in may basically from 19th may to 23rd May, from Delhi, so I need some help regarding the itinerary
Can you suggest which can I skip in May out of the below 3
1. Gabala+ shamakhi
2. Guba + shahadag
3. Gobustan + yanardag
Given its May and everyone is telling me to take 2 days to roam and experience the city Baku, so I have to skip one of the above
What is your suggestion?
One thing I can do is since I am going to qobustan on 22nd and my flight is at 1.40 am on 23rd, and I guess by 11pm I have to reach the airport, so will it be better if I visit half the city on 19th and then the remaining part after I come back from qobustan at 6pm?
I guess in that way I don’t have to skip any of the above? Please suggest on this
Out of the three, you should skip 1. And yes you should explore city for 2 day to get feel of Baku
