- Tower Escape Part 2 - the reverse tower defense game strikes back, this time I'm on hard mode with undead minions. I build my zombie horde, and death only makes me stronger!

I downloaded this game after the last episode and anyway nothing like playing a game Tyler has played to make me appreciate how good he is at it
Absolutely! I got it in a pack with a tower defense roguelite, I hope Tyler plays that too.
Yeah absolutely seeing him get through shotgun king but also knowing he struggled at times and I gave up on that game

I like this game, but it feels weird there’s a score bonus for perfect survival when there’s a whole archetype built around summoning when killed
some give you an extra unit which is worth x gold. so it balances out.
Why is that weird? it means you have to make a sacrifice. That’s good
Eh, if you get legitimate and permanent buffs in the process, then it seems fine. Whether it's 'optimal' or not may be debatable, but it's an alternate game plan that adds to casual fun. That's really what matters more than anything.
I get what you're saying, and I don't think you're entirely wrong, but that also doesn't mean it's a bad thing either.
@@willdutt That would only be true for the perfect survival gold bonus. OP mentioned a score bonus.
@@feha92 if you have a literal army, you can grab a ton of loot and brute force high survival numbers to get points that way
By the way, if you decide to play again you can see if upgrades are available for a minion, all you have to do is hover your mouse over combine for a moment and if the minion portrait changes and has text you can, even if you don't have the available minions. If it doesn't it just says no upgrade available. Hope this helps if ya do play again
Dan’s callback game is incredible, and his attention to detail is immaculate. Between “ROOK” in Ouroboros King and the “friendship ended” memes in Tower Escape, along with highlighting which game elements Tyler is talking about, explaining things that confuse Tyler and/or might confuse us (like the succubus purchase), and even playing out a sequence of moves to explain to the audience what Tyler is seeing in the future in Ouroboros King, he makes every video both extremely viewer-friendly and absolutely hilarious. Probably my favorite editor on the platform right now. Keep it up!
Edit: Also, his references are top notch. Stanley Parable? SLAP THE MONKEY?? Incredible

I've been looking for a reverse tower defense game recently, and coincidentally found your channel yesterday.
This feels like fate
if you’re anything like me you’ll come to Alienrocks for 1 game and stay for the rest, one of my favorite channels on youtube.
Discovered mechanics: after a certain point(uncertain where, on the tower), whenever you send your path into the range of any tower, that tower will be leveled up the next run through. It happens with knights, at least.
I bought this immediately after your first video, can't wait to see you trying stuff like permadeath and classic snake mode, bc those have both stumped me HARD on anything but easy difficulty.
I feel like I end up buying games Aliensrock makes videos about.
Permadeth is hard as undead but with enchanted you can do it since they have high health.
On easy you can get the two minions per wave and permadeath achievements at the same time using wisp.
100% interested to see Cultist + Dienna synergy. Both of them buffed up, cultist keeps spawning people to get 1shot while Dienna gets massive stats

Challenge run idea: You have to click on just the exit, and let the pathing do it for you.
no matter how much Tyler says this is a reverse TD game, I always see it as a minion race game.

Kinda odd that the undead seems to be entirely antisynergy with themselves.
Tanks with on death effects that largely increade their own health, making them less likely to die.
They decrease their health with each death actually

There was a bunch of those, most in Flash. I think there's a Bloons TD game that's like both regular TD and reverse at the same time. It's pvp and you send bloons to the enemy while also defending yourself from their bloons

The grub and maggot are overpowered, just slam them in with a bunch of zombabys and grubs and even queens, and you’ll get ever expanding armies of maggots and queens

I believe that for next time you should place the zombies last, instead of first. This is because with the speed curve they get mixes up quickly, in contrast if they were to be last they would always die, for they Cannot catch up.

Why do you have it on fast forward during the actual tower defense part? Makes it way too fast. Thats the most interesting part, seeing how the strategy works out and you're speeding past it.

I almost feel like I'm getting used to the editing... But every time I notice I realize all over again how awesome it really is! The highlights and flashbacks really help to understand Tyler's thought processes, and the little funnies are just pure entertainment!
Incidentally, I have it the opposite way, these random pop-ups distract me from my thoughts and than have me thinking about these instead of the game and possibilities.
The highlights can be useful, as long as they don’t block vision of other stuff.
Why did he decide to make the zombies have less health before turning them into zed? It just seems like makes it have less health. Zed doesn't lose hp
That's actually the point. The zombies having reduced health makes the zed also have reduced health, which makes them much more likely to die and produce zombabies. Prior to that the zeds were surviving, which isn't good for the build.
@@pinkythestrongestyoshi1626 "only catch is they have more health" that probably wasn't the plan. He mightve thought zed also loses health and the health would come back after combining "The zed also has reduced health" he didn't know it would have reduced health. So he and I didn't see the bigger plan but you did.
