I am an international exchange student who has been looking for on campus accommodation since I have been accepted at NUS and have been unsuccessful. Tbh it was watching your and other NUS youtubers' videos of hall culture and life that made me choose NUS as my exchange university and now not being able to participate has been a major letdown to say the least. Any tips on who I can speak to or what I can do to change my situation? The UHMS has not been any help whatsover and I've emailed the housing emails of all the halls but still waiting to hear back from them and based on my previous attempts, I am not too confident in this regard too.

"PGPH" is actually the House system separate from halls, there are now two of them called Pioneer House and Light House. They're supposed to offer hall life without the constraint of points but with recommendations instead, so will be interesting to see how it goes.

Hey Dargo! I have been watching your videos and I totally love them. They give me a sense of what it feels to be attending NUS.
I am an international student coming to NUS Computing this fall. I really want to focus on studies and have a balance between hall life and academics. and I don't want to sacrifice my sleep on all the different activities I have to commit to. (I hear hall cca practices sometimes extend till 3 am?) I do want to make new friends and hang out, but I don't want it to disrupt my studies. is it even possible to have a balance between studies and hall life? Is it a bad choice for me to stay in halls? If not, what housing options would you suggest?

Here's the thing about university: you're an adult, and you'll be treated as such. If you don't want to sacrifice your sleep on different activities you don't want to commit to, then you don't have to. It's literally up to you and no one's gonna police you and give you an ultimatum and say that you must do a particular something or else you'll get kicked out of school.
Tl;dr, you do you, it's possible to have a balance. It's just what you want that balance to be.
