I didn't know that Display Port is better than HDMI as I'm having a some kind of screen turning off and on for a split second using HDMI cable. Now that you mentioned on the video to use Display port than HDMI then I switched, and it didn't flicker or turn off and on. Thanks man. It really helps me today. You just a earn a subscription. Sir what HDMI to DisplayPort adapter did you get specifically? My 165hz Asus monitor keeps on flickering when trying to choose 120 or 144hz. I have 3050ti GPU but I don't have the DP port, only HDMI :/
@@ikdrph I didn't use any adapter, the DP calbe comes with my monitor inside its box. Maybe you can use an HDMI to DP adapter base on your monitors resolution.

Some games just naturally have really bad ghosting IE battlefield 2042 had some bad ghosting and it was the first game I had tried on my Asus monitor. Panicked was thinking of returning it but saw some gameplay on my brother's xbox and TV and it had the same exact problem. Lesson here is try different games and definitely don't use battlefield 2042 as a visual benchmark for your monitor lol.

I'm a month late and I can't speak for the monitor not working however most games have built in fps counters. Minecraft you hit F3. Steam games you can change a setting in the steam launcher to show it in-game.

DP and HDMI can effect settings both ways, My Asus vg27q runs 165hz on HDMI 144hz on DP so check both ports settings before thinking youre maxed out on one and not the other.
Thanks for the video. Recently got a new monitor (same as yours) and I came from an older Asus and couldn't get used to the color difference.. More like in certain games it felt way too dark but applying shadow boost to lvl 3 helped a lot!

my laptop uses an HDMI port and no DISPLAY port. can I do HDMI to DISPLAY port cable and get the maximum monitor hz? Laptop supports 165hz, monitor is rate 170hz, but using HDMI cable, I can only select 144hz.

What are you talking about? Higher hz is not always the best. Especally when the gray to gray is higher MS than the theoretical refresh rate latency. Sometimes lowering you hz makes your monitor perform better in timings. It may not be as smooth but it would be less blurry. Unless its a high end monitor like a high binned LG ultragear that checks all the boxes.

I have problems with the volume, the volume of my monitor is very low. I have it connected to HDMI and I already raised the volume from the monitor menu. Do I need an external audio cable?
ELMB is strobe backlight in short it adds clarity in fast movements but some monitors have low brigthness with it. OD is more voltage for pixels in short decrease ghosting some kind of glow of player models when moving.
Depends on what settings you're adjusting, for example the color profile (If I understand it correctly) only applies/works on pc. Whereas the other settings are accessed and changed using the buttons on the back of the monitor.

I own two 22 inch, 1080p / 60Hz HD monitors made by Walmart (onn brand). I was messing with settings on the monitor (my laptop was connected and was showing a purple tinted screen). I found my monitors include: Standard, Movie, FPS, RTS, and EyeSaver aspect modes. I use one of the monitors for my Nintendo Switch and am currently trying the FPS aspect setting.
I have the Asus VG27AQL1A , it supports 144hz on HDMI and 170hz on dp cable ,but dp cable shows no singnal without the HDMI cable ,if I plug HDMI then 144hz starts , any remedie(both the dp cable and moniter are new)

I received an Asus VG249 a year ago as a gift. I don't use this for gaming, I use it for photography and have been off and on trying to calibrate this monitor. If I change Game Visual to sRGB Mode I cannot change the color temperature and such to calibrate for photo editing, HELP!

Racing mode gave the best visibility on different colors and black/white scaling with some extra tweaks in my radeons software. F.e can see all colors on a hex color picker thingy. was so fkn tired of all reds and green melting into each other

Decrease OverDrive and maybe try ELMB Sync on.
Turn on ELMB, if it’s to dark raise the In game brightness

I have 240hz whenever I use 1920 x 1080 however I prefer 1720 x 1080 but when I change it it caps at 120

No you need a dp to get 165hz. Hdmi can only use 60hz
