Hey folks! In addition to the entry covered in the video, there’s also an alternate at the far southern end. You’ll probably find it a bit easier. If the surface currents are pushing North, you may want to consider it. Thanks for watching!
Salt Pier is fabulous ! We had 5 turtles there, loads of snappers, a few barracudas and more. During night dive we found a few turtles and loads of tarpons hunting in our divelights, awesome ! Indeed, a divesite that sort of must be on every to-do-list. Thanks for the video about the entrance and exit, very helpful and indeed practical. Keep up the good work !
Also not my favorite site due to the artificial nature and the "junk". However, I have seen some super cool sea life, so we keep going back. I highly recommend entering farther to the North. There is a more sandy area that direction that is a lot easier. Thanks for the info!
Love the walking stick idea! When I was there last year I swear Salt Pier was the worst entry and exit ever. I slipped and fell and my hand landed on an Urchin. Hurt for days. Ordering sticks now in hopes we will make it back in October! Thanks for all the advice.
Great questions Wray! Here's a link to the "sticks" we will be using on our next trip amzn.to/3cXd8Qw . We recommend attaching them to your tank with latex tubing. We cover this in a video you can watch by clicking here bit.ly/bonaireshoredivingtenthings . Thanks for watching!
We use them to enter and exit the water. During the dive we attach them to our tanks. We cover all things walking sticks in this video th-cam.com/video/p-dz41upBCM/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching!
We loved the salt pier too, once we made it in! 🥱🤪 loved the diversity of Sea life & the ominous looking structures underwater, great for photography… so where does one get these walking sticks?!

Salt pier was our favorite dive due to the quantity of fish we found there. Use the south entry point as it is an easy entry compared to the north.
Awesome advice on that walking stick. We bought two, otherwise it looks real hard getting in
They definitely make things a whole lot easier!

I agree with Kevin on the salt pier. Its dirty and its busy but yes you see lots of different fish. I like Tolo best
Tolo is awesome!

Thanks Tina! We're "on the books" for October too. Hope to see you there!
I loved the salt pier!!!!!
Critters to suit all tastes!
Very Helpful!

I realize I’m in the minority, but I put in at the giant concrete blocks just under the pier itself on the north side. Easy peasy also getting out.
I have never seen anyone with a walking stick at any site. Where do you get them and how do you store them during the dive?

Kevin, I feel the same about Salt Pier. I just don't find diving in a junk yard appealing.
