A lot of languages end with "ese" and I think the original comment was just making a joke saying that Hyunjin practically had her own language. Momo from Twice makes jokes like that about herself (shes Japanese.) Also I speak Japanese and I dont find it offensive at all.

not 100% on what you’re asking, but a lot of people speak english in hong kong. i’ve had very few problems using english there.

It’s Chwery in Korean. In English, she says Cherry, just like Yves calls herself Ibeu in Korean and Eve (as Yves is pronounced) when she speaks English.
