For me, slow stitching is working without patterns and having the freedom to make all the decisions about color, stitch length, and placement, and about mixing fabrics and embellishments at will, and enjoying the process as much as the product. Hi Janet, the gold thread added so much texture and sparkle. ❤ I did some research on the slow stitch vs embroidery. For slow stitch you don't have a pattern to go by and it's done with small pieces of different types of fabric. It's origin goes back to Japanese Boro mending, Sashiko stitching, or perhaps the running stitches of Kantha from India. Modern slow stitching really made a surge during the pandemic to soothe the mind and let the creative choices flow. Embroidery has a pretty pattern that you transfer to your fabric project. The stitches are usually quite regular and decorative. Embroidery is usually done in a hoop. Anything goes with slow stitching, like you say. ❤ Ah gently sewing, definitely showing you own personality and stamp of creativity. Your hearts are just so sweet today❤❤
