@@christopherjones8448 You are correct. It would have zero efficacy if it wasn’t enforced; however, if it was strictly (and very publicly) enforced, I think it would be a valid deterrent. But when you can go 5 minutes and buy it in a suburb… It doesn’t do much if there’s no enforcement.
In Denmak (EU), a shop assistant can refuse to accept more than 25 coins of the same value. Additional, you are NOT allowed to pay more than DKK (Danish kroner) 20.000,- in cash (≈2.900 USD) for any purxhase. Forcing you to pay by card or bank.
24:50 these limits are rarely enforced, and usually if paid for by a child then the vendor usually just helps them count it out. we don't have pennies anymore, they stopped making them in 2013.
That Canadian coin law only refers to loose change. Rolls of coin are generally accepted, however you may need to provide your address and/or phone number and name just in case the roll was short a few coins. Also, Pennies have not been used in Canada for quite a number of years, so the limit on pennies is no longer an issue.
I wish the Canadian change applied to the UK. Someone I know has purposely tried to use shops to change large amounts of pennies into pound coins that amount to about £20 - £50. We have banks and post offices for that, buy a product and make sure you have the appropriate change.
It's actually within a shop owner/worker's right to turn down a lot of coins for payment, in the UK. If you've got a lot of pennies or other coins, you can get notes from machines in some supermarkets. Just put your coins in it and it either dishes out the highest denomination coins that will make up the amount, or give you a receipt which you can take to the checkout for the same thing.
I'm not 100% sure if its law but I've heard that 100 of each coin is the legal limit BUT store owners have the right to refuse a sale, I've worked in retail for 20 years of my life and still didnt know this for sure xD

Japan hasn’t really made it illegal to be fat, they just enforce a rule that fat people in their workforce, provided their waist is too large, are required to take weight loss classes funded by their employers. Therefore, I ask, You want your brother to be a little more fit right?
For the Autobahn, you need a novel to actually drive on it. There are tiny cameras down each side and will mail you a ticket. It has huge digital boards as well that have so many rules on them. No over taking a car, it tells you the pitch of the hills and mountains, it tells you the temp, the % of slickness, etc.. so all these things change on every damn board you go under. It’s a lot. So ya, you can’t just go zooming around.

In my opinion, Mark 16: 18 is referring to the enemy and its tactics. “ 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”” Mark 16: 17-18 NIV

For the Christian snake one, that verse is literally supposed to be metaphorical. Since in the bible snakes are often used to replace the devil or demons in general in metaphors. So taking a snake and not being bit, as well as drinking poison and being fine, are supposed to mean that if you follow God that nothing the devil and other demons do can kill you.
Paying for anything with a large amount of coins pisses off the clerk who must count them. Word spreads, and the cops are now ready to target people who do so.
In America, private businesses CAN REFUSE payment in any form they want. The university was only forced to accept the coins because it's a government entity, so the refusal clause does not apply to them ;)
Your paper money states that it is legal tender for all debts, public and private. That means it is illegal to refuse U.S. paper money. A truckload of coins could probably be refused.
@@geofjones9 Yes, you are correct. But there is a legal distinction in the US between government and private transactions. Businesses can refuse whatever bill or coin they want. That's so grannies don't hold up the line, when fumbling with pennies and so that they can make a blanket ban on frequently counterfeit bills in their stores. Government run public institutions have a policy, on the other hand, that says they have to accept all legal tender as long as it's not defaced, since it's them issuing the debt in the first place. Pretty cool, right?

There are so many better chocolates to be flown over from Germany though. That's like me flying Dollar Tree knockoffs of Little Debbie cakes to Europe.
While in the US coinage does have unlimited legal tender status, that doesn't mean that someone HAS to accept large amounts of coins. There is no law that REQUIRES any one to accept legal tender at all. And contrary to popular belief, refusing legal tender does NOT cancel a debt. You still owe it. So they could have just refused to accept the coins for you that fine.
11:52 So according to this law, everyone has to be either Gay or Lesbian (or Ace)- as being Hetero is illegal! lol 😆 (Underlines the “of the opposite sex”)
about singapore, u can actually bring in gum for personal use from other countries! if you’re travelling and you have left over gum or just want to chew on some in sg, it’s perfectly legal. the law only prohibits selling and buying it in singapore itself. i’ve done it before in customs and they haven’t once questioned me :) also the reason why it was banned was because people stuck it in the train doors, which meant the doors couldn’t close and millions of damage was caused, not only that but it was a safety hazard, and there was gum everywhere, on walls, lift doors, and even after issuing warnings no one listened. so the government had to take matters into their hands and ban it.

Jay and Wesley. Idk why your survey is down... I like the variety. Both soothing voices
Only way to really judge which team I prefer, would be to have Wesley and Jay do the same subject matter in comparison video. So, for example, have each do the video about craziest law for each state or laws within one state. Then, it would be compareable. Each team, does different subject matter, so if someone has interest in a subject matter, then they would be whichever team did that video. But if both teams did videos on same subject matter, then each team style would be more apparent by style instead of subject matter.
Guys I maybe a bit too late to say this but as a Jamaican citizen it is completely legal to wear camouflage clothing once it's not the same exact thing our army wears
Even as a Nigerian living there for 9 years, I didn't even know that people aren't allowed to wear camo.😂
Asin. I was born and have been living here for the past 15 years of my life and I had no idea that it's illegal. Like, my friends and I wear camo all the time and no one has ever arrested us for it.
Maybe it's because we're just a bunch of kids.
In Canada, Production of the penny ceased in May 2012, and the Royal Canadian Mint ceased distribution of them as of February 4, 2013. However, the coin remains legal tender.
Most people use Debit these days. .
How dare people insult Winnie the Pooh by comparing him to Xi Jinping!
Tbh, I don't even see the comparison! None of it makes sense to me. Now I've gotta admit I don't know anything about Xi at all, but even if we're talking apperances, I just don't see it. Like, the man's got nothing remotely similar to Pooh, minus a red article of clothing (his tie, while Pooh's is his shirt), but like..? WHAT???
Even when I hear HOW that comparison came to be, I'm still here like...Huh?
I can't choose a favorite bc I don't really separate yinz in my head, even as I'm binging your videos. But, considering I binge the videos, I obviously love yinz & the content you make.
Sometimes (stupid) laws are made to be broken
YES
Yeah. Sometimes.
What do you mean sometimes. Oh crap...
@@xXkubiX Well. For the explanation, what happens is that some laws are just plain dumb and nonsensical.
Both of y'all are amazing, both have relaxing voicing that keep me coming for more videos to watch ^^
2:21 I don’t think selling gum should be legal, but if penalties for littering and graffiti were a lot higher, we’d have a much cleaner country
I would argue a cleaner world. Since people are nothing but monsters in disguise
Thailand is nuts.
Meh there are 500$ fines for littering around here and people still do it all the time. The issue isn't price, it's enforcement, the cops are either to swamped with other issues or just don't give af, but either way they don't bother to write tickets for littering
A crime that isn't enforced isn't a crime
@@christopherjones8448
You are correct. It would have zero efficacy if it wasn’t enforced; however, if it was strictly (and very publicly) enforced, I think it would be a valid deterrent. Remember that kid decades ago who got caned for vandalizing cars with spray paint? I think that was Singapore, too.
Chicago’s solution was to ban the selling in the city.
Your videos always entertain us Be Amazed! Keep up the awesome work!
If only the United States would phase out pennies like Canada has.
“…… and someone calls the other pigs “ that got me rolling 😂 😂
I wish the Canadian change applied to the UK. Someone I know has purposely tried to use shops to change large amounts of pennies into pound coins that amount to about £20 - £50. We have banks and post offices for that, buy a product and make sure you have the appropriate change.
If you have time, just go reaaalllly slow, I'm getting paid to stand there and count change, they aren't.
@y_fam_goeglyd the UK is behind the US we have in our supermarkets coins star we've had it for several years now
I would just take my time, and "lose count" repeatedly and have to restart. Perhaps I'd be done before my shift ends. Then again, perhaps not.
I can't open the survey but I like both narrators. Wesley's voice sounds more sexy though and that makes his silly jokes sound funnier. Love you both, guys. Keep the videos coming, you're my favorite compilations channel ❤
700-pound bears weren't ever wrestled in Louisiana. It was always black bears. They don't get that big. My grandfather wrestled a 300-pound black bear at a 1949 Parish fair. He won three rounds out of three.
Wow your grandfather must be a champ at wrestling!
Shame on him

He had to win 3 out of 3 losing once to a bear is probably permanent
I can't open the Google survey but I'm Team Wesley. I really enjoy listening to your voice. No shade to the other guy, I'll still watch the video no matter who does the voice over.
The gum problem is easy to solve. I keep the wrapper and use it to wrap up the gum before tossing it in the trash. You don't need to make gum illegal, just make gum dispensers illegal. That includes the tiny pocket ones.
That sounds easy enough unless you have small children.
but the thing is ppl tend to thriw gums on the floor and some mischievous ppl purposely paste on the train door which prevent it from functioning n cost lots of money to remove it
Make stupid 🤪 laws illegal instaed.
I like both of you. You 2 brought a combination of facts and excellent jokes wich is kinda a god send to those who get what ya say.^^
Why did the chicken cross the road? To prove to the opossum it COULD be done. I was briefly a DJ in Chicago, and ran a "Bird on the head" contest--the first to appear gets the prize. The winner? Stole an origami bird from her roommates' door.
Everyone knows that the chicken crossed the road to get away from The Colonel and his employees.

I should send my brother to Japan. He eats all of my food so much.
That's a bit horrible to say.
Lol
🤣Haha, That's Funny!
Japan hasn’t really made it illegal to be fat, they just enforce a rule that fat people in their workforce, provided their waist is too large, are required to take weight loss classes funded by their employers.
Therefore, I ask, You want your brother to be a little more fit right?
@@RealZerenaFan Sorry. :(
24:25 what if a person is a poor indigent or in any sort of tight economy? They cannot buy food as they only have coins?
For the Autobahn, you need a novel to actually drive on it. There are tiny cameras down each side and will mail you a ticket. It has huge digital boards as well that have so many rules on them. No over taking a car, it tells you the pitch of the hills and mountains, it tells you the temp, the % of slickness, etc.. so all these things change on every damn board you go under. It’s a lot. So ya, you can’t just go zooming around.
But it's actually quite wonderful. Dynamic speed limits that automatically adjust for driving conditions and traffic jams ahead. It actually works really well. And the whole speed trap culture of policing is non-existent because it appears that the police aren't allowed to keep any portion of the fines/money they collect.
All of you work for me, cuz love the voice!
Just love learning new things, so Thankyou Mr Amazing 💯🐾🍀💖🙏
5:26 considering we’re at a point where insurance will actually pay for weight loss surgery, this doesn’t sound like a bad idea. Granted, there should be allowances for people with certain medical conditions, but… If you’re gonna keep people from buying chocolate with a little toy inside…
I think a certain mukbang youtuber would rather die due to bad health then working out
What insurance do you have that pays for weight loss surgery?
@@Erinyes999
Thankfully I’ve never needed it, but a friend of mine had it (and never lost any weight because he didn’t really follow the guidelines - didn’t change what he ate, just ate less of real bad stuff and regurgitated a lot).
Although I think he had Blue Cross Blue Shield. But, I mean, he was a big guy. A bunch of us went out one night and got a caravan taxi home, and he got stuck in the back.
Rudeness should be illegal😞

24:15 Canada isn't the only country to have these restrictions. Australia, New Zealand and Japan all have legislation allowing shop owners to refuse to accept coins above set sums. In NZ for example, 5c/10/20/50, the limit is $5 of the transaction. $1 and $2 Is limited to $100.
Being thicc is never illegal in my book 😏

I love Kinder eggs! I think it's insane how Americans think they're dangerous (but not firearms)and Brits think they're fine 😂
I'm from America and I don't understand Americans myself lol
Yeah I remember the first time I tried a "Kinder egg" (Why is it called child egg btw?) it was very confusing since I heard it was a big piece of chocolate with a toy inside which obviously mine wasn't. I googled it and was even more confused how I ended up in this strange bizarro world where a freaking chocolate egg is deemed to hazardous to sell
We have more stupid people and they breed.
Always been Team Wesley..... his voice has been ASMR for me. Always called him 'The Voice' he's the reason I started following the channel a while ago
Jay is creeping up there tho
Prepare to put Oklahoma's antifurry law on here. (Idc about it but hey silly law) 😂
Love both, but a special something for Wesley ❤😊
My grandma brought 6 boxes of kinder suprise eggs into the US last year lol. I dont think she knew there was 1,200 dollar fine per egg but she didnt get caught and they tasted good lol
11:52 So according to this law, everyone has to be either Gay or Lesbian (or Ace)- as being Hetero is illegal! lol 😆
(Underlines the “of the opposite sex”)
Fun Fact, in the Bible, "snakes" and " drinking poison" are often used as a euphemism for liars, thieves, or other "snakes in the grass."

about singapore, u can actually bring in gum for personal use from other countries! if you’re travelling and you have left over gum or just want to chew on some in sg, it’s perfectly legal. the law only prohibits selling and buying it in singapore itself. i’ve done it before in customs and they haven’t once questioned me :) also the reason why it was banned was because people stuck it in the train doors, which meant the doors couldn’t close and millions of damage was caused, not only that but it was a safety hazard, and there was gum everywhere, on walls, lift doors, and even after issuing warnings no one listened. so the government had to take matters into their hands and ban it.
Wearing camouflage is indeed illegal in Grenada. None of us at my school could bring anything in that pattern

You should definitely be aware of stoping when you are on the autobahn in europe. It's not only in germany illegal, to stop when you are out gas, in switzerland it's prohibited too, and probably in some other countries too. It's only for emergency cases, like health issues or your car broke down
The Camouflage law is just crazy! 😱
Agreed. Among family and coworkers I am "The Camo Guy"! I wear some item of camo or "Army Green" everyday. And I'm exNavy! 😅

24:10 Mackinac Island, Michigan. I went there as a kid for a field trip, they have great fudge... and there was no way I could stomach eating it there. All I could smell across the entire Island was horse poo. I never went back. Cars are illegal there, horse carriage is common, and they don't seem to do a lot of cleanup after those horses.
There are no gradient shades of unique. Unique means something that stands alone. Like the queen of hearts in a card deck. You can say something is almost unique, but you can't correctly say, something is slightly unique or partially unique. A given thing is either unique, or it isn't.

In Portugal it is also illegal to run out of fuel on the highways, if you are a repeat offender you have to answer in court and the car is seized, and you can lose your license temporarily, if you cause an accident you can go to prison for between 1 and 15 years, depending on the severity.
and it is also legal for a store employee to refuse a payment with more than 50 coins, whatever the value.

The kinder egg thing isn’t as restrictive as you might think. I brought a box of them from Germany. I had no idea back then that they were illegal. So, I told the guy in customs they were for my Dad. He just made me promise I wouldn’t give them to a kid. I then told him I wouldn’t give one to the first kid I saw. We laughed and I walked away with my eggs.

driving on the autobahn in germany you are required to have a jerry can (filled), a towing rope , a warning triangle and a safety vest so you clearly visible, not having this items you are risking a fine.

In America, the Monolith Burger Fun Meal scenario in "Space Quest III" would be illegal! This is because, in that Fun Meal, the burger patty contained a completely inedible object: a decoder ring. The main character, Roger Wilco, found this out the hard way as he accidentally bit onto that decoder ring while eating his burger. The reason the nifty toys included in the McDonald's Happy Meals are legal is that those toys and their packages are NOT incorporated into any of the foods themselves.
