I've had Vespas since... well, since shifty scoots. And there is something comforting about having Robot always available, making videos that help us all keep our scoots on the road. Probably no other make on the market that has such amazing support. 12 thumbs up.
It took me a while to catch on to his style but now I think I would watch him giving a class on how to read the San Diego telephone book. Robot is the best.
I rebuild my clutch on my 2007 Piaggio mp3 250ie because I took a drive and notice making noise on CVT and I got home I took apart find out the belt started to shred and had only 3089 miles on it because I purchase this used from a dealership as is! Mr. Robot
I ran the belt on my 2006 GT200 all the way to 10,000 miles, and it still looked like new when I replaced it. I weigh 240, and did a lot of full throttle riding, and riding in the mountains. I saw on a Vespa forum where the owner of a brand new GTS300 HPE had the belt break at UNDER 6,000 miles. The belt seems to be a weak point on the newer models. I think they have gone too far with the technology on the HPE models. They DOUBLED the amount of maintenance, and still a belt broke. That's not something you should expect for what a new Vespa costs. It can also get VERY expensive if it happens several hundred miles from home. The towing bill is going to be huge. Vespa really needs to upgrade the belt. Many 400cc-650cc Japanese scooters can be ridden a lot longer without the belt breaking. They just use a bigger, stronger belt. The Yamaha Vino 125 was one scooter that you had to drain the oil to replace the belt, making it impossible to do beside the road. If you have a new belt and all the tools, a Vespa belt can be replaced beside the road, but it would be a big job, and take a LOT longer to do than it would in a shop.
I got a Question about Mod my 2007 Piaggio mp3 250 IE I been upgrade all the lights to led & changes out all handle bar switches and upgrade the side markers to led & turn signal is it ok do that Mr. Robot
Hey Robot, on a different note I have a 2006 250GTSie. Recently I am experiencing a left to right movement while accelerating and descelerating. It feels like a loose head bearing or like a motor mount broken...
I have a 150 sprint and was thinking of upgrading to gts300… … if a Harley Davidson drive belt can last 50,000 miles… why can these only last 10k..?…… is it because of different forces on the belt.?

Thanks for your numerous instances of knowledge sharing, Greetz from the Netherlands 👍👍👍
Thanks! Great discussion on what to think about when fixing a broken belt.😊
Another great video
Very good and a quality video, for all Vespa guys!!! Thanks a lot Robot!!!
When the belt breaks that’s when I know when to change it 😂 it’s not like the valves will hit the piston or anything lol

I have a question! What is the cc limit for the scooter cannon ball? And what is the prize if any and how many days do we have to complete it?
My drive belts last around 20'000 kms it's because every 6,000 i clean the casing and blow the clutch out. 👍
