Check the back axel mounts on it they're known to rot and not be caught before they let go, the wings and door sills are known to rot through on them as well not vw's finest hour. Whatever you do don't lower the damn thing they were known to chew through sumps set standard
Gotta put a beetle sump on it or put hockey pucks in the engine mounts and spacers 👌

170,000 not a bother to her, my 130 mk4 is at 234,000 and is running like a March hare.
