Today we're installing amazon's cheapest minisplit, the Rovsun 12,000 BTU Minisplit in my RV Motorhome! Although the instructions were pretty unclear, the install was mostly straight forward for someone who has basic electrical and mechanical knowledge

Great stuff bro. Couple questions. How long is your camper? Mine is 28ft and im thinking i need the 24k btu model. Do most campers have a stud in the center of roof?

how tall does this make your RV? What's your clearance for bridges/tunnels now? It looks at least 6 inches taller than the old one.

I must be misunderstanding something but what does it mean when i read the details on Amazon that it's 1 ton capacity because i know this thing doesn't weight a ton someone help me understand

The size (cooling capacity) of your air conditioner is measured in BTU (British thermal unit) and tons (12,000 BTU = 1 ton).

What about the drain line going up out of the roof? Does it still drain?

I have the drain line running separately from the rest of the plumbing! I ran it down the side of the cabinet and out the bottom of the motorhome

Where does your power supply attach in? Can you run the power supply to either inside or outside unit?

It connects to the outside unit! I just ran it through the roof directly below the outside unit into the breaker panel

Were you scared to put it on roof? I want to do this same thing I just wasn’t sure if driving would ruin the unit bc of the fan

@@gavinwright9849 I was a bit unsure, but it lasted me a year of driving in oklahoma and wyoming winds while driving 70-80 mph! I wouldn't install it with the fan facing forward, though.

@@TheModernNomad-us9gb did the unit die or did you get rid of it?

So I got my 115v unit and it only has one harness with it. The 4 wire harness? Wasn’t there supposed to be to be a 3 wire harness aswell?

I installed the Rovsun and it gave me an E0 error I emailed support they get back once a night at 2am likely from China. They asked if I paid an HVAC professional to install it I informed them I did not I had HVAC experience haven't heard back yet, but I'm not hopeful. When I went back looked on Amazon at the bottom of the details it clearly says professional installation required. The fact is no HVAC tech is going to install a cheap Mini split off Amazon. I can already see where this is going the warranty is SOL. Buyer beware if you buy a MINI split don't buy one that does not specifically state it's a DIY install or you likely have no warranty. In fact even the high end ones like Daikin which is the most common one HVAC professionals install clearly state to receive warranty you must include a HVAC installers contractors license number.
