    Great thumbrest...swings out of the way to reach the dial without issue, makes it so much easier to single-hand hold the camera especially with a little extra grip on front with the Garitz half case (though other grip enhancers can also help). The Lensmate thumbrest is expensive but so worth it for the quality, function and features.

      I agree, its a great thumbrest!

    Thanks for youd video. I got the silver version of the lensmate thumbrest some weeks ago and you name ist. This is high quality and really really worth the cost. Although I didn*t received a bonus. But that's ok.

    It is simply the best. I only used Lensmate on my X100, T and now the V

      Yes, I recently found it works quite well on my Leica too :)

    I had the same on my xpro2 for two years and it feels like its part of the camera feature now.

    • @TheLiamGordon
      @TheLiamGordon  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Does the xpro have a similar lack of grip on the back? I’ve been thinking about getting a used one for a while

      @@TheLiamGordon its just a small groove for your thumb. Its still awkward to hold specially with heavier lenses like 16-55 or the 56mm.

    Have one on my xt30. Such a great product, helps me have better one handed control.

    It is a very fine product and worth the money, it's not that expensive either.
    Got my X100 back from the repair shop but I've not yet tested it.
    That's exactly the reason I bought the thumb rest, I was finding I’d knock the joystick and accidentally change the focus point and, as I was using the rear command dial for shutter speed, I was accidentally changing it too so the thumb rest has reduced the chance of doing that...
    Oh, and the weather seal kit finally arrived!
    Oh, and it’s aluminium 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    I said concave at one point... I'm sorry, I meant to say convext :/ I’ve been using this every day since it arrived and it’s made a big difference for me so far. Does anyone else find they hit buttons on the x100v if there’s no thumbrest?

  • @PawFromTheBroons
    @PawFromTheBroons 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    You described that shutter release button as both concave and convex.
    So no matter what its cost, it’s totally worth it for uniqueness.
    😆
    Anyway, those flippable thumb rest are the best, by far...

    • @macjim
      @macjim 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jufloca concave: shaped like a bowl, convex: shaped like a dome
      It looks convex to be honest

    • @PawFromTheBroons
      @PawFromTheBroons 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mac Jim I’m aware of the difference, but this made me smile that the shutter was both simultaneously.

    It looks like a very well made accessory, but for the price of the camera I believe that Fuji should’ve included it in the box just like they should've included a battery charger for my X-T4.

    • @TheLiamGordon
      @TheLiamGordon  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fuji don't have a thumbrest that I know of, this was a separate company that designed it for folks who want the extra grip.

    • @Enrique-the-photographer
      @Enrique-the-photographer 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheLiamGordon I know Liam, they also don’t make the BC-W235 (battery charger), they buy it for $2.00, re-brand it and sell for $69.00 instead of just putting it in the box with the camera, they could do the same with the thumb grip.

    • @TheLiamGordon
      @TheLiamGordon  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Enrique I agree with the charger thing. It’s very annoying. If they put a thumbrest in the box they’d get complaints that they should have shaped the camera better in the first place.

    Hey man, do you back button focus? Does it impede your ability to back button focus?

    • @TheLiamGordon
      @TheLiamGordon  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I usually manual focus. I’ll occasionally use the back button if I need to focus very close. I think if you always use it a thumb rest will probably get in the way a little.

    • @ferrydrums99
      @ferrydrums99 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! I've just recently received my X100-V and have the Lensmate Thumbrest and I do plan to continuously back-button focus. After playing around with different buttons, I've decided that the Fn-2 button (the one on the front lever) is the most comfortable one, since I don't have to move my thumb out of the rest to the AEL/AFL button but only raise my middle finger and click it.
      At least I find gripping this way more ergonomic. Hope it helps.
