After every superboss I have beaten including 9-Tails. Him saying "My strength is unparalleled" I still get shivers. These bosses challenged me to be the best I can be. I stopped playing on easy, and only play on the hardest setting now. BRING IT ON!
I'll say this. Ninetails is definitely the toughest boss overall. However, one can beat him without using Hyper Modes. I can't really say the same for Fivetails because of his "Self-Destruct" and "SOS" shenanigans (unless one has a lot of "Build Speeds." That being said, this is an awesome theme. Period.

Nope. But then, different games have different playing styles. This one is turn-based. Then you've got side-scrollers, quick-time combos, 3D world combat, certain bosses only being affected by certain elements/weapons at certain times (and if you don't have those you're boned no matter your HP or basic attack power), bosses that can only be defeated if you know that you have to plug your controller into the second slot or else he can read and predict your every movement or action and counter it, bosses that will summon minions to distract you or boost his own stats, and so on. Ninetails would on occasion revive your own team members (which I never understood). Yes, he's unbelievably difficult compared to the main story's final boss, but he's nowhere near the hardest boss.

By now Zero should have the flame sword which lowers his defense like all hell but gives him godly attack. for now either keep him in and occasionally attack and block or bring him in with Cinnamon. X can be switched with Axl in the attention spot to avoid any of his one person attacks. Once you have your team set up with cinnamon just attack relentlessly with her cat claws and lower all of his stats. if needed two people should have the Generator or just give them both to her so you can heal whenever. after a few hits Ninetails should be slower and weaker all around. from there retreat Axl and just beat on him with heat haze Zero, X (or Marino), and Cinnamon. This is the funnest tactic to me. So far I only have had 2 people die per fight when I don't bring Axl in as bait. So that's the real reason I decided to throw him in there. But if anyone sees this you can mix it up how you want just make sure Cinnamon has those claws on and at least one generator. If you really wanna get OP with it just throw in a couple of Bat Zeros and Ultimate X forms and Ninetails will have all nine of his tails between his legs in fear. Hope this helps someone who doesn't want to take the Erosion risk of force metal. All in all amazing theme gets me pumped for the fight every time

The gameplay in X tends to be a bit faster paced and flows a bit better that older megaman games... although more recently, they haven't really been measuring up. The story itself is much more mature, with more of a space opera theme, and less of a binary "Evil madman releases robots of the week, go smash" type thing. Generally X games have an underlying problem besides "Sigma's a jerk".
I've beaten the game but have never faced Ninetails before. I did beat the other hidden bosses though to get X's Ultimate Armor and Absolute Zero. I unfortunately lost my save files so I'm going to have to start from scratch.
I was just browsing for Megaman music and when i saw that fucker name "Ninetails" just a bunch of bad memories flooded my mind.It took me 10 hours of grinding to become able to BARELY defeat him.
There's a really easy way to get to level 99 with all 7 characters. In the mine (chapter 6), there's fire blob enemies, and if you keep shooting flame missiles, you can level the enemy up to 99 (I remember shooting about 15 fire missiles, then kill the flame blobs) and if you kill the flame blob before he runs away, you get like 2 levels up on all 7 characters each time. Took me about 3 or 4 hours, but makes rest of the game an absolute cakewalk.
I renember that maybe 10 years ago give or take, a friend and I tried to beat just two tail and it was impossible, we forgot about it until a lot of time later just casually I stumble upon a tutorial on how to get both hyper modes, after several heart attacks I call him and we rush to do it, a few days later ninetails was defeated and I felt like the anime protagonist getting a power up.
Ninetails is one of the most amazing boss i ever faced in a megamn.. epic difficulty (until you god supra force metal) epic music and epic challenge, just love it. Tip: to take him down easily, take marino put as much supra force metals you can on her (regardless erosion) use the hyper mode and then you'll kill him before getting hit once :)
yep. i also hope x's ultimate armor from x4-x6 (as in, not the x8 one, that sucked), and his gold armor enhancement from x3 would make a return. then again, i do like to keep some degree of uniqueness to the fangames i make so im not entirely sure if i want capcom to use ALL the great ideas or not...
then again, the fact that there's too many armors called "ultimate" armor would require either a rename or spreading it throughout multiple games anyway so i should be safe...

Axl solves that problem easy. Decoy with his Hyper Mode and you're set.

Ninetails is the most difficult boss in gaming. No doubt about it!
I found him easier than the other odd-numbered kitsune enemies, and, if I remember correctly, 5-tails was an unstoppable beast.
