WOW! What a FANTASTIC idea! A xmas village AND an advent calendar... I'm starting today! Did you add little lights? I guess I'm going to find out. My niece is 13 so I think she might enjoy this for a few years still - I can include jewelry, stationery, sweeties & hmmm, what else do you give teenage girls? Ooo, I'm getting a few ideas here. Anyone seen rag quilts made from old jeans / denim & lace & patches? Perhaps I will make a faux denim-style village on a similar fashion. I have seen denim DSPs, but perhaps not when I actually need it 🤔 But where's there's a will, there's a way... brain on overdrive here. I haven't watched the video yet, but for the stand you can use a bookfolded cake stand - it's really easy... just a tall hardcover book & some time.

What a fabulous design Sam! I have this set of houses and numbers from Paper Discovery, so can do a similar version. I love what you made! For the circle bases, you could also use the cardboard tiers used for wedding cakes which can be purchased from many craft stores as they are both lightweight but sturdy. Said this before but thank you again for sharing your incredible designs and construction directions with us!

Can you tell me what is the finished size of the little house. The dies are no longer available and I would like to see if it will work with my other village dies I have.

Ooh, I love this. I love Christmas villages. I can see myself making this in whites and browns to match my neutral/rustic Christmas colours. I have just ordered a circle cutter too, after seeing you use one in a few videos. Thanks for sharing Sam x
This tutorial is so confusing. It doesn't say how big the houses are, what weight of cardstock was used for the houses, and how to do the heat embossing on the roofs and the die-cut numbers in the front, or how to make the trees white
The houses are made using a die, that’s why no measurements are given and instead I direct you to a playlist of similar sized boxes to use where measurements are given. The die cut numbers, are just that, die cut numbers stuck on the front, and again I tell, and show you where to get similar. The heat embossing is from the co-ordinating stamp set for the die set, if you don’t have that you can decorate however you like and, again, as I say in the video, you can check out my 5 other advents for more inspiration! You can also find lots of other versions of this advent that’s been made by followers in my FB group Mixed Up Crafters.
