I found this old video of Patti’s. It attracted my attention because an advent calendar is so important to me because it reminds me of my childhood. My parents made calendars when they couldn’t afford to buy them for us. Now I put a good coin aside every day in Advent which I then donate to a charity for the people at the local mission. They use it to provide food parcels. Our family wasn’t wealthy but my parents said it was important to remember the Christmas message and think what it meant every day. You could put the coin into the cups. Dad had a Christmas tree at his school and every year when it was end of the term and the tree came down . He got the children to help and each took one of the baubles home. It was a poor area and he said they didn’t have trees. My mum got so exasperated because they were our baubles and every year she’d save up buy new and they never came home. So we kids would sit making decorations from card and foil for our tree. 😂😂. She’d say No baubles AGAIN. But we had love. ❤️
That is a great story Judith. Thank you so much for sharing. We grew up poor and my sister and brother and I made most of the ornaments for the tree with paper, sequins, felt and macaroni noodles. They were great times. I look back on them and wish life was that simple again. LOL. Have a wonderful weekend.
Thank you Patti. I love advent calendars. We always had one growing up. I always had one for my kids and now my grandkids. I even started getting one every year for my next door neighbors' kids. I'll make these instead! Much nicer than the paper ones. I think my favorite is the 1st one, although I really like both of the others too. Oh... you know it's so hard for me to choose. Anyway, I hope you had a great week and I hope you have an even better weekend. Pattie
Wow Patti. These are so clever. I love all three of them. I think my favorite is the third one. But I love the other two as well. Thank you for sharing. God Bless.

I've never seen anyone make these b4, and they are all really neat. Great idea to use the k-cups instead the mini solo cups. Ho, Ho, Ho!
Thanks so much! 😊 They were fun to make. K-cups are perfect, I just don't have a k-cup machine.

Awesome
Excellent project, thank you! How long did it take for the glue to dry? Would using a glue gun work?
Thanks Veronica. You could use hot glue. I used E6000 just in case the items in the cups were heavier. It really did'nt take that long to dry.
Your first calendar has two number "sixes".
OMG, I guess I turned the 9 upside down. LOL
