The V27 series are great mid range phones! And they are pretty much superior to the Note 12 series in every way. Except the 120W charging and stereo speakers. Fun touch and the fact you get Android 13 out of the Box, is enough to sway away from the note 12. Another great comprehensive review Sir Chris. ✌👌
Yes seems a few people think Vivo paid me to say it's better than the Note 12 Pro. Oh dear it's just facts if they are both around the same price I would go for this.
If it lands in Europe for around 400e, that we would be great deal. I mean Redmi Note 12 Pro, A34 and Realme 10 Pro + goes for 370-400e. This Vivo is a league, probably two leagues above in terms of performanse, battery life also ahead, design above most of competition, only Realme 10 Pro+ can compete. Camera performance is where you would expect, 50mpix main is good with OIS. (nothing spectacular but still very good) and you would anyway use main cam for 95% of your shots on all phones in this price segment. I mean all have 8mpix UW "cameras", so it is what is. On the other hand strange solution to skip stereo sound... Still, i would pick this over competition easily. Performance and battery life are great.
@@lionelm62 Yeah Pixel is great, best camera in this segment, also software for those who like stock android and multiple years of android versions and security patches. On other hand battery life is kinda bad compared to conpetition, slow charging and no charger int he box, 60hz refresh rate of the screen and so-so design (chunky bezzels). I would wait for 7a in the summer, if regular 7 is exoensive.
If Vivo can afford putting a 50MP front camera that can record 4K videos on mid-range V27 & V27 Pro, why can't their flagship X series do the same? I wish their next best-of-the-best X100 series to be champions in both rear & front cameras.
i just cannot wrap my head around the curved screen movement happening in smartphones. i strongly prefer android, but recently switched to a used 13 pro max and the huge flat screen is so underrated. between the flat screen and great battery, I'll tolerate the asinine limitations of ios / apple. if this midranger had a flat screen I'd honestly consider switching since the battery seems to be competitive. the regular xaoimi 13 almost got me but the battery life sucked. One day 😤 lol edit: also i feel you on the dhl. i live in madrid and sometimes just getting a package to show up at your door is a nightmare
oh man DHL with the whole situation, I have had that so many times!! The UV light is a cool idea, though I haven't used it much ^^ Design wise do like how they have the back and frame fused, looks clean!
DHL really suck here lol. Not a bad phone compared to the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ we just reviewed that is maybe even more expensive or about the same price. This offers so much more.
If you dont care about the OS then v27 is really a great choice.Pixel 6a has 60hz screen and charging is really slow and you willnot get charger in the box as well.
Not bad, stabilization seems a few generations behind though, can't really get rid of many of those micro bumps or whatever when running, not as... fluid? Wondering if this does video on the wide, I didn't hear you speak bout it. Great review as always! Hi from Canada, eh!
Oh my ultrawide video sample is missing? Well it's 1080p and looks washed out. Not great. No EIS on the front camera with 4k is disappointing. I always seem to notice that mediatek powered EIS is worse than Qualcomm SoC's
Why phone with ufs 3 has no SD card slot or not support, is that required by ufs 3 or something? Ngl, with no sd card support is really deal breaker for me
Flagships have moved away from SD cards, and mid-range will be next. There are many reasons, including that in 2-3 years, we will use eSIM, so there will not be a SIM tray. Also, because we dumped SD cards, SSDs are getting cheaper, so OEMs like this phone can start at 256GB (though 128GB storage will also be gone in 2-3 years). It is called progress.
The lucky teen generation lived through a low inflation decade plus. Older viewers remember the cycles of inflation that pop up during our lifetime. Welcome to one now this is nothing new, and you have to accept it as part of your life from now on.

For some reason, a midrange phone has one of the best front camera sensors of all smartphone ever.

It sure will be. But I think it will be more like 449 euros or something. Still better than the 480 euro Redmi Note 12 Pro+ I just covered.

Nice phone. I like a curved screen. The colour shifting is not that visible in dark mode (who runs light mode nowadays? 😉)
True most people don't bother with light mode now and use dark for the battery saving mostly. Also easier on the eyes.
Hi sir! Do you prefer the Samsung A73 or Vivo V27 5g?
Chris, you mentioned the V27 Pro getting stuck at customs. Could we be getting both models in Europe, or is it just the V27 that's making the cut?
Both models, it was just my V27 Pro was sent back.

They advertised 3.1 and i ordered one. Also, can UFS 2.2 do over 800 mbps write speed as in ur test?

That depends on how larger the storage is ... The bigger the storage size the faster the speed

I don't know why Vivo doesn't prioritize speakers on their phones. Even those with dual speakers are not loud.
Very strange, they need to improve them.
Fun fact, they were among the first to put them and were loud af (I remember vivo XPlay 3s)
Ah yes but for some reason they moved away from that.
@@Techtabletssir, i need to buy IQOO 11 and be sent to Miami how can you help to find a global version?.

Not too bad, certainly had a few with my X90 Pro and Pro+

Too many negatives for me. No sd card support, curved screen, ufs2.2, single speaker.
Curved screen is the most overrated feature ever.
I prefer flat screens like you. But it's not a bad screen at all. Better flat of course.
It's hard to call something overrated when everyone complains about it.
See the sequential write. Its over 800 Mbps. UFS 2.2 cant achieve that.

Low speed for UFS 3.1
