Man the huge difference between you and everyone else with pack openings are that you actually pay attention and know the artist for like all the cards which is pretty huge and refreshing to see, even better is that you make references to past art and have their twitter for some of em very cool to watch

As an artist, I appreciate the appreciation that you give for card artists 🙏 I've been keeping a notepad of all the debut artists in this set/recent sets that I love the style of, and plan on collecting all of their cards for. They really knocked it out of the park with the artists on this set

Just want to say that I really appreciate that the cards are the always stars of your videos: the art, the artists, the attacks, the Pokemon themselves. I cannot stand the channels that rip through pack after pack after pack as fast as possible, so fast you cannot even see the cards, seeking out some ultra rare, valuable card. It's all about them: their collection, their investment, their money, their likes, their channel. It seems almost perverse to me to be only in it for the money with no nostaliga and no appreciation of the art or the game itself. Anyway, keep it up! -A new subscriber

Dude speaking of debuts, this and Obsidian Flames had two amazing artist debuts. The OF Gloom by Haru Akasaka and 151 Dragonair by Rika are breathtakingly beautiful.

I can always count on you to point out the amazing new artists! I've also had to abandon Japanese and am now strictly one ETB and booster box per english set and buy singles of the cards I like. I bought one of each product for 151 so we'll see how it goes lol.

The biggest issue that I see with this set is that the booster bundles were supposed to priced at $26.99, but those sold out immediately and now resellers bumped the price up to $40. You can still find ETBs around the $50 mark which makes it a much better price per pack than the $40 bundles. Really tired of resellers ruining releases like this. Great opening though, nice to learn some about the artists behind the cards

I’m like you in the fact that I’ve had to move almost exclusively to singles. Used to love opening, but I just feel like the pull rates have stayed pretty rough on the English side for far too long. Not worth the “fun” cost
Just want to say that I really appreciate the more chill yet still very engaging vibe especially with linking the artists socials. I’ve seen way too many other poketubers that give out way too much energy for me and way too little not including maxmoefoe. Underrated channel imo

Enjoyed the focus on the various artists! But yeah, ouch at those bundle prices.
The pricing on these are crazy right now. I was skeptical on the set because the preorders sold out super fast and that's not normal. For example, the previous set, Obsidian Flame could have been gotten for MSRP before it came out, when it came out, and even after it came out. Now with 151 it sold out in days, and now its impossible to find and everyone is freaking out calling for a reprint ASAP. $40 for a booster bundle is crazy. What's nuts is some people are even getting $45 per. It's just not worth it at that price b/c I've seen people pull nothing with 2 bundles. Imagine spending $80 and not getting a single hit? I'm so glad I picked up a few of the 10 packs when they went up for pre-order but I don't know whether to open it or keep it sealed lol.
I'm 70% done with the set and i only bought a etb, poster bundle and 2 boosters. Great art, great pulls so far, this set is what Pokémon is about, but my booster boxers were 20 dollars not 30

I was pretty happy with my first booster bundle and ETB, ended up getting a second ETB and got absolutely destroyed with duplicate rares.
i actually opened a booster bundle last night (i wanted a regular Mew ex) and found some decent hits LOL, opened the wrong boxes :')
Yeah, the pull rates were horrible for me. I bought multiple sets, and despite adding dozens of cards from outside decks I’m having trouble trouble constructing a proper deck.
Not playing water decks? Are you done with Lost Box? Those decks play plenty of water energy.

It was brutal. Then you go online for suggestions to build a deck and you’re like how the hell are these people getting four of these cards when I spent $200 and ended up with one? Just absolute junk, hardly any support cards, items, tools, just a bunch of medium low basic crap.

Wow this the first pack opening that I've seen that actually feels authentic. Love that you show you putting the cards in the binder to show your progress on completing the set. Also love that you talk about the moves on the cards if they are good, and also that you're shouting out the artists that actually designed the art. Super cool. I know it's gambling, but I would love to see you continue opening this set trying to complete it. But understandable if you don't as booster bundles are getting harder and harder to find, and their prices are going up and up.

These will be the only pack opening videos I watch from here on out, so please don't wait six months to indulge this unhealthy habit again!
I feel your pain! My son and I opened a few bundles (blunders), 2 etbs, and a poster collection this weekend. That's about $200 USD as well.
It was like gett'n mugged in a subway. But it's worse than that. All of the onlookers took turns kicking you in the nuts while you are down. I have heard this is the set to bring people back. I don't know, this might be the last straw.

It's the Promo Cards that people want I guess which is probably why people are willing to fork out a few more $ per pack. In fact if you wanted to save more than you currently are you should have got the £8.99 (~$11) tins which come with 2 boosters.
ETBs for 151 cost 70 not 80. 80 is overpriced, look around. And the sleeves they come with aren't free lol you will have to buy sleeves eventually so take 10 off the 70 for the ETB, that's 5.40 per pack. And you get way better pulls for 1 ETB then you do 2 booster bundles
I love the focus of your channel on the artwork! Also, I believe the pull rates are similar to Obsidian Flames. For me personally this will my first Scarlet/Violet set, so as someone coming from SwSh these rates are very exciting for me!

I bought a single $55USD ETB & pulled a single Kangaskhan ex Full Art ($4).
That state of modern products is so confusing. I'm an adult with money but I couldn't imagine being a kid, saving up for weeks, to buy my 1 ETB to get absolutely nothing.

With my discount at work I get booster bundles for 25 bucks a box. Etbs are 45. These prices are why I refuse to order online.
the pull rates aren't great but I've noticed that some (big) youtubers have a lot (and I mean A LOT, 3 charizard full art ex in 60 packs LOT) better pull rates and this is really weird.. I've opened about 50 packs and got one machop full illustration and one caterpie..
you know whats crazy, i literally just bought one of the 151 snorlax trainer boxes today for $45. as crazy as it sounds Gamestop of all places is actually the cheapest place in tulsa to get these things. dice addiction (one of my local cardshops that i frequent the most), walmart, vintage stock, target, and even the think geek store in tulsa's woodland hills mall are all selling them for $80. 😅 idk man, it feels super weird saying that, but here we are.😂😅

In my country ETBs are for 40$ so I have no idea where you got that 80 from. Unless you're talking about australian dollars but it's also cheaper in my country. I've bought 3 ETBs for 64 aud each.

The pull rates are terrible because what people are doing is buying all the booster bundles. You have a much higher hit rate with the binder, poster, UPC, ETB, tins, and the pokemon boxes. The booster bundles are just like the snacks and the other stuff is more like a meal if you get what I'm saying.

I have never open boxes after started buying single. 1 box of Japanese 151 is = 2 Japanese Charizard SAR. Bought 2 Japanese Charizard SAR instead and zero risk haha. For English, just buy single. Not worth opening boxes anymore

A very sad opening to watch, but loved the addition of you adding the cards into the binder as you went. Do you add the reverse holos too to fill in the empty spaces for the cards you don't have?
Also love how you just have a mini encyclopaedia of the artists in your head and how you can recognise them and pull up facts of their previous work just like that. I recognise most of the artists but I always have to Google what else they have done 😂
