zooming and cutting is a MUST these days. why? because the majority of folks watch software tutorials using their smartphones or tablets. and on those devices you don't see the menu entries and icons well enough. editing my tutorials is quite time consuming, and i'll stick to it.
the camera is an icon, such as the manipulators for rotation etc. are icons which do not render. you'll need to model the camera as geometry and then CONSTRAIN it to the maya camera. there are several types of constraints, and lots of tutorials out there on constraints.
I have an odd need, namely, to open a .ma file containing a mesh with a slew of cameras derived from photos used in photogrammetry. I then wish to use the transform from each (sequential) camera pose to populate the timeline with one keyframe per camera per frame. Many thanks for how that might work.
