Is the airline strict on checked bag and carry on weight? Would they allow 1-2kg over. Did they weigh hand luggage and allow you to gate check bags. Gate checking bags are my favorite. Allows you to carry a fake bag for free. How was the customer service

I'm 6'3" and I've booked economy IAD-DXB August. I wanted EK with its 32" pitch; but AF 31"seat pitch was half the price of EK. So, for high season my budget only allows AF. I last flew AF in February. It should be ok.
@@thomasmaresh5264 The economy seats are OK until the passenger in front of you decides to fully recline their seat and they are practically in your lap for the rest of the flight. I've had several flights like that and I was miserable; it's OK for flights for a couple of hours but it can be unbearable for long haul flights.
