When I first discovered Rush back in 1981... the first song I heard was Tom Sawyer...it was not performed by Rush, but by a navy band that visited my high school that June. the band played many different songs before playing Sawyer...everything from the Police to Pat Benatar..that's right they had a female singer. And when they broke into Sawyer I was hooked from the first sounds that erupted from their instruments...And when she sang the first words I had no idea that Rush was a band from Canada and had a male singer...I turned around to a guy seated right behind me and asked "What the fuck is that song they're playing"? He said "That's a new song from Rush on their new album Moving Pictures".By the end of the week I had that album in my hands on vinyl..still have it. In bad shape now but I since bought a new one on vinyl...had many cassettes and cds along with all their albums. Seen 16 shows from my first in 1984 to my last in 2015...If Rush had to have a female singer... Rocky would be a great choice... Of course I understand that would be impossible ... I'm just saying she is an amazing singer!
According to a post by her husband, Yynot was stuffing her in some singing fees. He claimed she only got $59 to do one show. There were also issues about royalties. I don't know if these money issues have been cleared up. Some of these cover bands don't make as much money as you would think. They're not area headliners.
Mood Lifters, I’ve been a RUSH fan since 1977, first tour was Permanent Waves, with 30 shows over the years and their last show as my last. All I can say is, yes, you guys are spot on musically, and Rocky's vocals, well, are amazing. But what casts you above the rest of the other Rush tribute bands imho (with absolutely no offense to the others), is the absolute enjoyment and honest passion you have for the music and lyrics. It really shows! It makes this old Rush fan happy. And of course, Rocky, you have so much real emotion behind your vocals, that, well, it makes one tear up a bit with happiness, and in missing our boys and in celebration for what you are all doing to pay homage. Much peace and cheers wished upon you all, and to many more years of Mood Lifters success. Right on! 😊
Thanks! We really do love this music like it were our own. We feel privileged and lucky to be able to play it for Rush fans just like us. As Neil said, "the night has a thousand saxophones." To us, that means there is always a place under the stars on any given evening for a performance of songs from Rush's incredible catalog, and we believe there always will be! We appreciate all like you who want to come along with us on that journey.
Rocky OWNS Hemispheres. Even Geddy admits it was too high for him to sing when they wrote it. I wish I could e-mail this into every Rush fan's inbox. If Mood Lifters comes close to Michigan, I would see them.
I’m completely gobsmacked! This is stunning, what a display of musicianship from all 4 of you. Honestly, you have enriched my life here today so, Thank you👍 Very best from Ireland 🇮🇪 🤘

I had this one turned up LOUD today to listen to again & I got to tell you I absolutely LOVE this performance & the singing by Rocky is incredible. She nails the Geddy voice. I have been following Rocky for a long time now and have seen her perform live as well. I have to say I am noticing a few things that have changed with Rocky. 1) she is singing better than ever before, 2) I can see more emotion in singing this Rush epic which translates into her voice & inflection. Huge plus I noticed right there ! 3) Rocky has extended her range in an impressive way. She always had the high notes, but now is able to get, in my opinion anyway, the lower range notes so much better than ever before. I so much hope I will be able to catch you all perform somewhere. I am in Illinois and it may be tough to get out to the West coast, but I would see your band & Rocky any day. Personal kudos to Rocky for your awesome feel of the song and voice ! Always loved your singing. Great job to the band. You sound amazing !
Rocky!!! Yes !!! Great, great job. You're sounding awesome, even better than ever. I was always drawn to your voice. Missed it honestly. Love your voice on Rush covers and originals. Moodlifters sound Great !!!
Rocky and the band have pulled this tour-de-force 'beyond compare'. Will need to break a pledge to never travel to the US to see you live. Long live Rush, Rocky and the Mood Lifters.
It fascinates me as a 50+ year guitar player the rhythm styles that Alex incorporates into this epic song to make his guitar sound as big as possible. Watching this performed, it's really amazing to see how innovative & original his right hand playing is.

Fantastic , accomplished musicians and excellent cover. Now a 58 year old, I remember going to my local record shop in Dunfermline to buy Hemispheres when it was released. Playing it over and over in my parents dining room equipped with a Sanyo 'music centre'. My first live experience of Rush was 1983 in the Royal Highland exhibition hall in Edinburgh. They had a screen behind them (Wow!) and a cool video for Red Barchetta. My last concert was on the R30 tour at London Wembley Arena. 12:45 "I have memory and awareness but I have no shape or form, as a disembodied spirit I am dead and yet unborn". I got slightly emotional listening to this as it took me right back to my parents (no longer with us) dining room. 🙂
Thanks for your comment and sharing your experience/memories! Music has so much power to bring us back to times in the past.
