When us spaniards started following golf, and it was because of Seve, there was that calmed and determined guy who would scare us so much: Nick Faldo. We suffered him so many times, and even though we didn't know the game to the fullest, we knew he was a jugadorazo: an extraordinary golfer, a steady and fierce competitor. What a relieve, to celebrate his talent in the Ryder Cup. Thanks, Mr. Faldo.
I’m English, usually want English sportsmen and women to win whatever,,.. but when Seve was playing in the Open or World Matchplay I always wanted Seve to win even against the English players.. he was a unique genius of a sportsman.
You needed to be young and following golf in the early 80s to understand what Seve meant... there is far more to Seve than his tournament record... Ryder Cup stuff was unbelievable... made other men bigger than they were... Jack and Tiger really struggled with that in team environment...as did Nick. All legends, just different super powers.
No doubting the greatness, and importance of Senor. Severaino Ballesteros, to the game. He was what Tiger represents, to my generation of American golfer's. First European Master's, champion, that heralded the dozen or so more to come. All naming the dashing, and charasmatic matador of Golf, as their inspiritor . Muchos gracias, Seve.
Seve was my favourite golfer a real genius and magician but Faldo had the ball on a piece of string in his prime, such control of flight and trajectory and with the old balata ball.
5 majors, 5 World match play Championship, 2 world cups with Spain, 5 Ryder Cups, 6 times European Tour Order of Merit, 50 wins in European Tour, 96 wins around the world. And all, before his 40 years old. Just imagine young Seve with a good physio, good training and zero boxing and bike. With a healthy back, he would've be the goat.
@@aha3885 that's my point ...to me his style puts him up there despite the numbers ....Seven ..big Phil ...Tiger ...the big three ....in that order ..... different era for Nicklaus ...not the competition ...
Just think that you’re reaction at seves funeral was the most emotional and amazing way of showing togetherness with you friend. By the way you weren’t too bad either!!
Faldo held his nerve under pressure, the ones that were supposedly dropped in his lap were because the ones who should have won it fell apart under pressure. Jack Nicholas had a few handed to him due to people falling apart under pressure.
@@salfordnick5336 Spot on Nick. He also made other players wobble through his focus and intimidation. Most of this game is played between the ears and he was better than most if not all
Nick Deakin .... It bugs me when folk say (of any win) they were given to him.. It’s 72 holes stroke play, lowest score on Sunday evening wins. It irrelevant whether you miss a put on the last or the very first hole of the day.. It’s just those on the last have a bit more pressure on them & Nick could see it home.. Credit where credits due though, those making such stupid comments would still miss the 2 footers on their PlayStations 😉🤣
Damm Nick your video would last along longer with Jack and Tiger great shots chips putts,Seve can't hold a jock to Tiger and Jack, I believe Tiger has 122 tournament wins 81 PGA and 41 European wins i think Nick you were a better player than Seve and Nick you didn't mention how Rude Captain Seve was to the American Rider cup players ...just ask Brad Faxon.
@@paultaylor5502 a lot harder for jack & tiger round the greens with their power fast swings. Seve was an artist but jack & tiger would best him most times. They were titans!!
Today’s golf world need more players like Seve; real, authentic, sympathetic and charismatic.

How coild you not...he was just so lovable
He was just unreal
Great to have seen the respect among those two titans of the game, Seve & Faldo.

NIck Faldo cried his eyes out a Seve's funeral, there was clearly a lot of love and respect between the two, as men and as golfers.
If you haven’t already you should watch the Seve film, the hard man Faldo, sobbing at the end.
Go watch the 1986' Masters. Seve was a spectacular player, gentleman, and sportsman.
Seve was & is the forever king of European golf.
Just like Arnold Palmer in America.
Seve is the special one. Pure Genius!

So few players in the history of the game had/have the ability to create shots like Seve did. He was amazing to watch.
Very humble Nick 👏

What a legend ❤ He is missed
rip Seve, when God made you he broke the mold. Sorely missed. Taken from us far too young.
Seve was my favourite golfer a real genius and magician but Faldo had the ball on a piece of string in his prime, such control of flight and trajectory and with the old balata ball.
Nick you are a class act you won more majors than seve but you give him total respect he was unique
He may only have won 5 majors... But Seve had charisma that other golfers can only dream off....
And enthusiasm to die for. His movie is spellbinding.
Ade Griff ..... Only 😳🤣
Only 5? Only 13 people in the history of the game have won more majors than Seve.

Respect shown by respectful gentlemen.
Greatness. Seve. Faldo.

Greatest short game ever.
That was 1 thing-thanks Nick.
Nice one Nick
As a player I never wanted Faldo to win but as an analyst he is tremendous.
He is the complete.. REAL DEAL of a human and a GOLFER.. maybe has the edge. ..on most.
Seve was the most gifted player I’ve seen the only player to come anywhere near his creativity was Trevino
❤️
No one comes close to Seve in the short game he was undoubtedly the best even the stats show that when his longer game was pants
Kwaito man
it's all golf school robots now ..........
Six-time major champion... he had three of them dropped right in his lap
Faldo held his nerve under pressure, the ones that were supposedly dropped in his lap were because the ones who should have won it fell apart under pressure. Jack Nicholas had a few handed to him due to people falling apart under pressure.
Like woods’ recent masters win
Absolute cobswobble.....none of his majors were given. He won them because he held his nerve and was the best that week. Dimwit of a comment

Seve had 91 tournament wins to faldos 30 something .. He was the boss
Bit like the whole 91 Ryder cup team....cheated like mad and behaved disgustingly...then did it again in 99 to ole.

Still Tiger and Jack better.
