    Got a tip for you about lining Raaco Cabinets up, In the top there are 4 holes, use 4 of the Technic, Pin 3L with Friction Ridges (6558) and put the small end in the top of the cabinet holes (knock in with a hammer) then the top cabinet will locate on the top as there are also holes in the bottoms 😉

    Hi Keith. Just watching one of your slightly older videos where you mentioned the really useful storage. They are available in hobbycraft here in the UK. You can buy the inserts separately there too not sure about the tops.
    Also bit of trivia didn't know if you knew. Lego is the Biggest tyre manufacture in the world. Keep up the great content it's very much appreciated.

      Well done on reaching a milestone. As you've found getting to a certain level and maintaining it is hard. I sold over 30K parts last month and I need to replace them just to stand still - Thats the challenge of running a store.

    Also.. you should consider placing bulk parts and stuff that you don't need to access very often in cabinets at the top close to the roof.. and have the stuff that you access often to the ground. Would add so much more space for you as well 👍

  • @nubielegomomapril794
    @nubielegomomapril794 ปีที่แล้ว

    The box sets that need parting could go above in the bare space
    My idea would be to move everything in the 2 big white shelf’s behind where u sit , over behind the door and I would put more racko units in by the other ones

    • @BrickArena
      @BrickArena  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I could put a little more above the RAACO cabinets around the room. I used to do that previously. Keep in mind I do have another room in the house where I keep sealed sets. Some of the things (like the overflow boxes) on the white shelves behind where I sit are too wide for behind the door, so I do like to keep some wider shelving.

    • @BrickArena

      Will do - You don't get any i'm afraid they have to be bought separately. I still have plenty of spares so not a problem for me.

  • @TheSwedishOak
    @TheSwedishOak ปีที่แล้ว

    It's a shame there are not deeper drawers for the style of cabinets you are using. That would give you so much more space for pieces if there was.

    • @BrickArena
      @BrickArena  ปีที่แล้ว

      All of these kind of organiser cabinets are like that. But that’s where the drawers below come in. They are very deep.

  • @LKFaction
    @LKFaction ปีที่แล้ว

    I use the same Raaco drawers, very frustrated with the cost of the dividers and the fact that the cabinets don't come with any. It's a major expense if you've got a big set-up.

    • @BrickArena
      @BrickArena  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is an extra expense you have to consider. I've bought thousands over the years but was also lucky enough to get a donation of a subscribers unwanted ones. At least you can get dividers for them, along with spare drawers etc which is a plus.

    What proportion of your sales do you make internationally (edit: before the whole royal mail disaster!)? I'm considering opening a bricklink store in the UK but I'm wondering how much I would be hamstringing myself by (at least initially) only offering UK sales. In my mind keeping it domestic would make it easier to get to grips with everything, but limiting my customer base *in addition* to starting with a relatively small stock of parts feels like I'm setting myself up for failure.

    • @BrickArena
      @BrickArena  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’d estimate around 10% international. I would start with uk only and see how you go.

  • @emperorsgrandads
    @emperorsgrandads ปีที่แล้ว

    I think offering 2nd Class postage is a great idea. Personally, it's a little frustrating when sellers only offer 1st class and it has put me off buying from particular sellers in the past. As a seller, 90% of my stuff is sent 2nd Class and I've had very few issues over the years.
    Yes, I agree about the plate clips - a royal pain in the butt to list.

    • @BrickArena
      @BrickArena  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I agree that some are put off by the slightly higher cost though TBH I really don't think there is that much in it and I prefer the faster delivery. However, I don't want to put any obstacles in the way of orders.

      The last lot came from rapid online on eBay

  • @LukeReynoldsLondon
    @LukeReynoldsLondon ปีที่แล้ว

    So quick question, is buying random bulk lots off ebay a good way to add things to the store? is tricky deceding what is used and new, do you keep 2 draws for the same part for new/used?
    Also as I mentioned before I'm buying sets cheap some as much as over 50% espically the ice cream police chase got for £6.50 and part out value was over £60ish so over all do I just need to keep getting as many parts in the store as possible and reinvesting for stock/bricks. You're such an inspiration to many and you do such an amazing job showing how you do it!

    • @BrickArena
      @BrickArena  ปีที่แล้ว

      Bulk lots from eBay can work but there's a lot of competition and people are expecting higher returns on their sales. Plus, it's really hard to judge the value she some you'll win on and others not. Try and be creative about where to pickup bulk. - Yeah, just keep reinvesting and growing the store. But keep in mind, the bigger the store, the more sales, the more work picking and packing, which leaves less time for adding to the store.

    Hello, thanks for the video, enjoyed it again.
    One question as a non-seller. Is the inventory on bricklink and brickowl the same? And if yes, how does it work if for example the same item is ordered on both platforms simultanously, and you only have that one item?
    I'm just curious, would really appreciate an answer.
    Thanks and greetings from Germany.

    • @BrickArena
      @BrickArena  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the inventory is the same on both platforms including pricing. Both are synced with a 3rd party application to ensure when an order placed on one system it updates the other.
      It’s really very sophisticated.

    When Drawers in the Raaco cabinets are empty or have a space in them (if using dividers) I turn them around, Stops them looking untidy

    • @BrickArena
      @BrickArena  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the Ko-Fi, much appreciaated. Regarding the drawers, I do that in the cabinets close to the door and agree they look tidier but I do prefer them to be left out as its more obvious and easier to get out. I have seen people put a big label on the back of all their drawers so that when they are tuned around they are more obvious as you then see the label.

    • @icklebricks

    I would be tempted to number the blue drawers with a different range of numbers, or use a prefix. This, as you say, gives you more flexibility if you need to insert other numbers or move things about. With regard to having a gap in numbers, I managed something similar which I found a bit annoying at first but in the end I just left it and I am used to it now - it's a talking point too :-)

    • @BrickArena
      @BrickArena  ปีที่แล้ว

      My problem is what prefix :) I have already got several number ranges, some with letters. I still have time to think before I need to use them thankfully. Not sure I can live with mistake I made but its a lot of work to move them.

    hey im from the uk and considering selling used pieces, what do u pay per kg? and do you think theres anything i need to know so i dont end up with stock everywhere and being unable to fufill orders

    • @BrickArena
      @BrickArena  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd say you looking at paying between £5 and £7 per KG for used bulk. The key is being organised so you need lots of storage with a unique numbering system to identify each location specifically. Having to search for items will massively impact your ability to pick efficiently. Good luck in your journey. There's a lot of competition out there these days.
