  • The John Hunt Little Champion Pie Machine is without doubt a feat of old British Engineering and is still the most popular manual pie machine on the market.
Here we are testing out an ex-bakery machine prior to refurb. We are not working to the highest of production levels but just to show how the machine works and how you can make lots of pies more easily.
A couple of tips on heating and how to help with the tin lifting, etc.
If you experience tin lift, updating the knock off springs will help, ensuring the die is good and hot and that pastry isnt immediately out of the fridge. You dont ideally, and should not need the simmerstat on too high, if you find you do - give the die a good period of time before starting to ensure its at a good temperature to begin with as the die will hold its temperature well once its hot.
Failing this - air release will help prevent the vacuum in the first place by replacing the air forced out during pressing.
Take a look at how this pie machine can help your production.
Machines are available new and refurbished from ourselves or Hunts directly.
