Hi how are you guys congratulations for nice work teaching please I need to know, how do you reset a Toyota Prius2004 to clear the triang symble on the dash after
Thank you for the video I have a 2011 kia optima hybrid. In EV Mode or in running mode the isolation resistance is around 900 kOHMS, well below the spec of 2000 kOHMS but with the key on engine off, the isolation resistance is at 3175 kOHMS. Some say the 125amp resistor needs to be swapped out to a 150 amp. does this make sense to you? I was going to look for a bulging, leaking or low voltage cell but would like to get your thoughts on this first. If you think it's a cell where do I buy individual cells? Thank you so much!!!
Your car uses Lithium polymer. Using 8 cells per module with a nominal voltage of about 30 volts. With your car PAA6 caused by hybrid battery module is less common than those that use Nickel Metal Hybrid. See if there are any spilt liquid and they don't or standing water caused by rain leaking into the car. Sometimes they are not evident unless you remove some rear paneling. Another common cause is the electric ac compressor. It's important not to use AC gauge that has been use on regular car because of refrigerant oil contamination. To check if it's the AC compressor simply drive with AC off. If code only comes on when AC is on then it's the electric. AC compressor. Ebay sell those module individually for around 50 bucks. They contain 8 Lithium Polymer inside and should be at least 30 volts.
POAA6 kept coming back even after fixing the problem ! Code needs to be erased every time before the car starts. It comes back again within less than one minute and it stays off until the car is turned off again ! During the time the error code is erased for the 2nd time the car drives normal with no issues 20 to 30 miles so far ! It’s not the hybrid pack or the 12 volts batteries (both were swapped with a different functioning ones) More details from my local auto parts store scanner: -C1241 & C1249 Let me know what you think, thanks
You need to get a capable scanner and get the subcodes for P0AA6 You need 612 if it's the hybrid battery 614 I think is the air conditioning compressor and the other code is for the inverter area this is three areas where this happens The hybrid battery area inside the case the inverter inside the case under the hood silver lid. And in the Delta circuit that feeds the air conditioning compressor so you've got to get the codes red properly and get the subcodes usually once you get the code you get the initial code you turn off the car restart the car rescan the car you'll have sub
First off be careful using an OBD2 scanner because sometimes it will give you a confusing code meaning same code but with different meaning. Here are the possibility of PAA6 code. In NiMH system leaking module is common issue. No sp with lithium ion system. Another possible cause of PAA6 is the electric compressor. Erase the code and drive the car with the AC off. If code never comes back then it's the culprit. To test an electric. AC compressor for high voltage leak to ground requires an isulation tester sometimes pawnshop have them at affordable price. What it does is it inject high voltage I this case you want to choose 500 volts not more, and isolation resistance should be not less than 550 mega ohm. Anything less than that is probably a defective insulation. WARNING avoid introducing the high voltage that the meter produce into any path that lead to electronic box. You should unplug any potential wire with sensor etc. Also make sure safety plug is pulled out because you will be testing high voltages.
You finish to refeel the batery hybrid. Thanks for the answer I wait for that.

Just disconnect 12 volt battery wait a few minutes and reconnect

@@thesmuler5627 Hey thank you so very much! I'll look into it

It’s a 2005 Prius

I had the same code p0AA6 and c1641 and it turned out to be a 12v being low. Changed it with a new Bosch one and now it’s been error free touch wood
Ok it’s been raining for 2 days and the problem is back. Do you think there’s water leaking in the inverter or the AC plug got water in there
