  • Finished clearing all the trees and brush. Got most of the pile burned with just a few stumps left. Tried to smooth out the area and hopefully get it to dry quicker. Had about 30 hours in this job start to finish and sawing all the logs up and stacking them. It ended up being almost 3/4 of an acre cleared out. Now it should dry over the weekend and the builder can come back and lay out the basement and building. Thanks for watching! #EliteEarthworks #Takeuchi #landclearing

I know it’s not really right but you can secure a mini excavator down with one binder, just back the machine on so the blade faces the rear of the trailer and run a long chain through the blade holes around the d-rings and hook them, then back the machine up until taunt, get another chain from d-ring through the rear excavator loop to the other d-ring and bind it tight, do it so it’s on the driver side of truck and life is simple... no drills!

Dead rotting trees that fall naturally and lie flat on the ground will absorb more moisture than a live fully leafed out tree. It is very hard to burn them. It's better to stack them up and leave them for a few months to dry if you want to burn them. Otherwise bury them or hide them somewhere in the woods. Live hardwoods don't contain a lot of moisture in the winter and will burn easier.
