as a chemistry student, nothing makes me as frustrated as when people say something has “chemicals in it” Everything is made up of chemicals! literally everything!! loved the video!:)
As a big sister moment to you-from someone who was married at 32 and widowed at 33 (my husband was 35) find someone who has the same values as you. Things in common fade and change as we grow as adults but what you two value together usually doesn't change. I've also found that initial attraction or spark with someone fades quickly, look for the slow burn with someone your gut will tell you if their a safe person or not. Good luck out there! These stories made me laugh as I've had those same experiences too! You're a gem of a human and I wish you nothing but happiness!
Yes!! This!! Relationships aren’t about “sparks”. Ultimately, those will fade. Couldn’t have said what you said, better. I do understand just not “vibing” with someone though. That definitely happens. But yes, if she takes anything from the comments I hope she takes yours to heart :)
Never feel pressure to date. I went 4- 5 years without dating after my 2 big break-ups. No one could rush me into anything until I was ready. Now I'm married and happy I took that time to focus on me.
I so respect the way you talk about these experiences, not sharing too much or talking poorly about these people ❤ love the life updates, hope you had a good date
I love your message. After my divorce I took a full year to focus on myself and explored new hobbies. Was the best thing I ever did. There is nothing wrong with self care and taking time to heal.
I took 4 years from dating and seriously thought I would never again. I was through. I had the most fun those 4 years. I went to concerts, traveled, followed a couple of bands for awhile and put myself 1st. Then I met Jon again and everything changed.been married over 20years. You never know ❤
This video was so much fun, I literally feel like I just sat down and caught up with a friend while we got ready for the night. So comforting and fun honestly 💜 wishing you the best for this date but also you’re totally right that there’s no pressure whether it works out or not. This is all valuable learning experiences and if not anything else, it’s just fun getting ready for a date and going out there!
I'm a bit older than you and you're absolutely right about the fact that super hot chemistry may not always be there in the very beginning. Giving it a few tries before throwing in the towel is a good thing to do. First of all, some people have a tendency to not be able to fully be themselves until they feel a little more comfortable. Actually, it can take a good while to truly get someone to be themselves. Good luck. I can't imagine how hard the dating scene is these days. I always felt its better to try and go do things and meet someone in a more natural manner. But I'm old fashioned, i realize that. I just feel that dating sites and online meeting sometimes consist of men that are mostly just looking to hook up. And thats okay maybe some ladys are too. Anyhow, good luck❤ Love your personality and watching your videos!
You are absolutely right! A lot of people can be nervous or a bit guarded on those first few dates...i know that iam lol so if there are no red flags but you didnt really feel an immediate spark definitely give it a few more tries
@@KrystalMimms yes, I'm 45 and I been married once and divorced and I'm engaged now and we've been together for almost 8 years. I'm not rushing into anything and I know when I do marry it's going to be forever this time. I agree! If there are no major red flags or signs of total incompatibility, if someone seems cool and I think they are attractive, I'd give it a couple-few dates before writing it off due to lack of chemistry.
Abby this video is so adorable 😊I never leave comments but as a current big sister and Minnesota native, I can lend some big sister advice. You are doing everything right, trust your gut, and do NOT feel pressured to do anything. When it’s right, you will know
Omg - thanks for sharing. 💕 I love dating stories. The first guy there was no chemistry and the second guy was literally clueless about chemistry . Lolz
I enjoyed hearing your dating stories so much! I am done myself at 63 but loved hearing the details. More stories please! Do you know if you took us on your dates (maybe a separate channel) you would be very successful in that endeavor. And we could be there when you fall in love. 💕
I love this style of video! It feels like we're spilling tea over brunch! Not gonna lie, I responded a couple of times like we're on Zoom or something.
I can so relate to you Abbey. Its so funny to hear your stories about those guys because I too have similar experiences, if not the same. I too am a picky person, but that’s how we are. Its ok. Not liking someone, doesn’t necessarily mean disrespecting or underestimating them. Its just that two people do not have the same/similar opinions or thought, which is completely normal. Have a good night
I'm one of your older subscribers. I have 2 sons, 32 & 30 years old. The youngest is married, the oldest has a ChemE major. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to your dating stories and hearing the perspective from a young woman (since all I ever heard was from the guy's perspective!). Please post more videos like this, it was fun!
Something you said about date #4 guy stood out to me. You felt like this date would be deciding for you and that either it would continue or you’d see him more as a friend. Guys don’t want friends - if you don’t want to continue, let him go and move on. If he likes you, and obviously he does because you’re going out again, he will never get over that and be friends. I could never be friends with anyone who didn’t want to date me any more but I still liked. I had a date who still liked his old girlfriend. I told him to go back to her. While HE thought we were friends, it killed me every time I ran into him somewhere. It never ceased.
oh I just love these kinda videos❤️ feels like hanging out with a friend. can't wait to hear more about where dating this guy is going for you. wish the best❤️
Loved this casual, intimate style conversation about a topic that is interesting and made me laugh with you. I recently got out of a serious 2.5 year relationship only four months ago and I feel you on what you said at the end, you have to be ready and that timeline is different for everybody.
I am the big sister trying to encourage my little sister to not put pressure on her dating life/take it slow. She just doesn’t want to listen. 😂 Loved the updates!
Absolutely love this video Abbey, thanks for being real with us. In the summer I broke up with the woman I thought would be my wife. 💔 I’m also 29 and after 7 months I’m ready to start dating again but I’m so nervous!
Your dating story was very entertaining to hear, but no one should feel pressured by friends or family to have to date if you don't feel ready for it. Thank you for sharing your experiences and feelings. Many hugs from Chile 😘
I actually gasped at spf 18 😂 Jesus! I will say when I met my husband, there wasn't an instant attraction. We started as friends, hangout all the time, I was dating someone else too. He kinda stole me away from my then current boyfriend. He just made me laugh and was super goofy. And now 10 years later, we are married with a child on the way! He is literally my best friend and we kinda read eachothers minds, it's crazy. But just don't go off instant chemistry because I didn't have that initially! I hope that helps! ❤ Love your videos!
You are wise to give the guy a second date.... what's between his ears counts far more than chemistry. We all age and change physically as we get older, and the novelty wears off. Having good conversation will always matter. The knowledge and wisdom one brings to the table is most important!
Loved your dating stories especially as someone (at a later stage in life) that is also in the beginnings of this process after a break post relationship. So nice to see you so much happier than your Chicago days!
I've been taking a break from dating my last to relationships just did more harm than good. I am st point where I am just so exhausted.Thank you for being a big sister and reminding me it's okay to be single and focus on myself❤❤.
I applaud you for getting out there! It’s sooooo hard. I met my boyfriend whom I now live with on Hinge. I didn’t think it would work at all. I also felt like I was talking to my brother during our first date. My friend encouraged me to give him another shot. Best decision ever! I didn’t know a healthy relationship could actually exist and complement my life. I had to be comfortable enough with myself before adding someone else. Slow burn really can happen! I get how exhausting it is, but it can actually work. Go get ‘em!
I’m so glad I came across this video bc I’m in the stage of my life where I’ve been single over a year and don’t even feel ready or willing to even talk to a man right now for the first time in my life. As much as it’s freeing to me it’s also scary bc im 32 and worried that I’ll never have the drive to want to find someone to b with and b single the rest of my life. So after u saying u waited 2 years gives me hope I’ll eventually wanna get back out there. Thank you for this ❤❤
Wine guy sounds like a realtor. The business meeting vibe solidified my hypothesis. As a fellow realtor, I can say coffee shop or lunch meetings are super common. Also the market is struggling just about everywhere in the US. A lot of us who weren't super established and well off have had to pick up second jobs. Hopefully if he was actually a realtor, he was honest about why he was working at a wine store
This is hilarious! especially the ACV Mail Order Mushroom Man! What else is going on if you are saying that on the first date?! And who would go out with you and think that is a good thing to say?! I did think you needed a big sister the entire time I watched this! ;) My little sister wanted NONE of my advice, but I found friendships where it fit better for me to give advice and for it to be accepted. I've also found my own "big sisters". I hope you can find that too! Love your videos :) Keep on!
I think the universe brought that chemical-free guy into your life just for our entertainment value. 😂 I’m dying! 🤣 Thanks for taking one for the team, Abbey!
Abby, I'm 47 and have been through many horrible relationships. Listening to you as a young woman in the dating scene is so refreshing. Everything you said points towards a woman of high value and respects herself. Unfortunately many young women today do not share these same values. Don't ever change and keep being the "big sister". Your husband is just around the corner and he will easily reveal himself to you. Xoxo
Oh, I also took about two years before I actually felt ready to date again, and I definitely had that pressure, that I SHOULD move on faster, everybody does and blah blah. But everyone has their own time, and I wish I knew that too 🙂
I wasn’t ready to date again for awhile and then one day I was. You get there when you’re ready. Also I love owning that I’m a girl who wears “lots of makeup.” That’s just me and nothing wrong with it 😊
I feel like this strategy will work best for me as well! I always thought I had "thick" hair cause I have A LOT of hair, but I actually have pretty thin hair!
I just came across your channel today. This video is hilarious with these stories. I'm glad you got back into the dating game because it seems like you're looking for someone to settle down with eventually. Best of luck to you. Thanks for the hair care advice that this channel gives!
Love this content. I have very similar hair type and color - can you do an updated color video that we can share with our hair stylists to use less bleach in the salon? Thanks!!
How I enjoyed listening to you and watching this video 😂 it definitely felt like a girls night chatting.. hopefully you make more videos like this Abbey 💜😍
This was such a fun video! I love hearing your dating stories. Can’t wait for more 🥰✨ P.S. Your eyes look really big and sparkly without eyeliner. So beautiful 💖
I love these videos! It feels like FaceTiming your bestie!!! And thank you for big sistering and reminding me I don’t need hinge and it’s okay to just ✨be✨ for awhile and not worry about dating
the amount of time that first curl was clamped and just sitting in the curling iron I was SWEATING! it was like a full minute. I'm surprised your hair didn't burn off lol
I purchased the redkin acidic bonding shampoo, conditioner and I love it.. I can tell a difference in my damaged hair right away.. Also i have the coccunut miracle oil on right now.. I am trying to find the ph balance of the pureology strength cure that you also love and am having a hard time finding that. Do you know what it is? Have a fun time on your date... Let the best Man Win!!!!
I feel your pain Abbey. I'm 32 and dating is rough especially as a Christian. I don't have luck where I'm living at all, and I find myself downloading and deleting Hinge quite often. I met someone on there 2 years ago... didn't work out. There are no eligible bachelors in TN. I probably won't date again until I move next year😅❤ Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤
Just turned 35 and after ending a 12 yr long relationship im back in the dating world too....its WEIRD out here 😂 i dated a dude for a few months that was "anti chemical" as well and ONLY used coconut oil as sunscreen cuz it has an SPF of 4...as he stated 🤦🏼 i gave him the sunscreen/skin cancer talk as gently as i could to no avail. Over the summer he went to the beach and got FRIED....i made no comment 😂😂 some people just dont get it. Also while listening to you talk about having that spark on dates...i agree it can be a bit "ehhh idk" if you dont feel it initially but sometimes it does grow gradually and thats what i have found to be true. Ive been dating a dude for about a month and at first i wasnt sure but now im SURE lol
I’ll be 36 in January, and I don’t even know how or where to start. I hear my friends’ struggles with dating and it sounds like a war zone out there. Any advice?
Very entertaining Abby! Love the dp hue, for my dyed red hair (shh), it's a must! I combine copper with auburn depending on the brightness I'm desiring. It's amazing.
I love your stories! I feel us women should start a collective book of our worst/wierd dates/conversations 🤭🤣 and also one with the best dates (to give us some faith) 😂😂😂
I love your dating stories😍 Someone not using shampoo but continuously adding coconut oil, what is their definition of “chemicals”?!🤣 And thank you for the curl iron tips, I’ve tried it a few times but gave up because the results were … different for every section of hair😬 And some of my hairs get stuck and break, and the whole section of hair never pops out as easily as yours… (I might need a different iron🤔) Anyhow: you’ve given me the motivation to try again!🤩💁🏻♀️🙏🏻
O.M.G. I'm gonna need more of these life stories videos! You are so damn hilarious! I love it, and I love LOVE! May your dreams all come true with whoever you find interesting and so KEWWWWTTT! ❤😂
my boyfriend went on a 10 mile run and when he got back I asked him if he used sunscreen I got him and he said "no, i didnt need it". After his shower i looked at him and he was as red as a lobster with a sweat band burn line across his forehead. You live and learn, or you can simply listen to your extremely smart girlfriend.
That one part sounded so familiar. I met this one guy at work and started to have a crush for him. But I thought that he must be a lot younger and interested in younger and more beautiful girls than me. I also started to think that maybe he does certain things because he likes me too, but maybe I'm just wishing and hoping... Well, I was wrong. He did like me, a lot, and we got married last year. 🥰 (and.. he is 3 years younger but looked so much younger than that)
Will you do a review on the Kevin Murphy line? When I lived in Santa Monica, it's all the salons carried, and I just moved to FL and it's what my salon carries and pushes now.
So stoked to try dpHue! If you’re ready to find the person you marry - try Match! Set very specific filters and look in other cities you’d be willing to move to, too.

Quite literally lol
Was coming to the comments to say the same thing 🤦♀️😂
Then do you also roll your eyes at "I felt like we had chemistry?" 😃
@@LiliS319 heheh no that one is fine 🤭
Exactly. Water can be toxic. Which is why I find Clean beauty so frustrating / unnecessary.

This was so much fun. Thank you for sharing your adventures in dating, Abbey 😊
I love this video so much! You are such a great story teller and I love your authenticity!!
The dating stories are just so much FUN!!!!!
I always look forward to this type of content 🎉
Yay so glad!!
the amount of time that first curl was clamped and just sitting in the curling iron I was SWEATING! it was like a full minute.
I probably won't date again until I move next year😅❤
Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤
Thank you so much - I was one of the ones that asked for this for hair ❤
Away…and up or down is the combinaison you’re looking for! 😉
Okay I NEED to know what you use on your beautiful, long eyelashes!!! Please do share the secrets! 😍❤️. Also, loved this GRWM!
Such a great sense of of humour 😂
I love your stories! I feel us women should start a collective book of our worst/wierd dates/conversations 🤭🤣 and also one with the best dates (to give us some faith) 😂😂😂
I would totally purchase that book in a heartbeat! 😄
I love your dating stories😍
Someone not using shampoo but continuously adding coconut oil, what is their definition of “chemicals”?!🤣
And thank you for the curl iron tips, I’ve tried it a few times but gave up because the results were … different for every section of hair😬 And some of my hairs get stuck and break, and the whole section of hair never pops out as easily as yours… (I might need a different iron🤔) Anyhow: you’ve given me the motivation to try again!🤩💁🏻♀️🙏🏻
I really enjoy the dating updates, you are so wise for your age, Abbey! The date night look is perfect, subtle and glowing
We need an update on the date!!!❤
I just literally love everything about this video
I thoroughly enjoyed this video! The make-up and hair as always great ---but the stories! ❤
Great video, Abbey! This made me laugh! Can’t wait to hear more dating stories 😂
Really loved the dating update. Thanks for the chuckle!
O.M.G. I'm gonna need more of these life stories videos! You are so damn hilarious! I love it, and I love LOVE! May your dreams all come true with whoever you find interesting and so KEWWWWTTT! ❤😂
I need an update on Date 4! Yay or nay? 🥰
my boyfriend went on a 10 mile run and when he got back I asked him if he used sunscreen I got him and he said "no, i didnt need it". After his shower i looked at him and he was as red as a lobster with a sweat band burn line across his forehead. You live and learn, or you can simply listen to your extremely smart girlfriend.
Abbey, what is that headband??? ❤ great video thanks! 😊
This was a fun video! I want to hear your book recommendations 😊
