To all those who have said such nice things about my performance - thank you very much. To those of you who had issues with it, I'll try to do better for you. :) So come on out and see Les Mis one more time. Also, this was my first time singing this on TV with a camera about 3 feet from my face, so I was a bit nervous. Maybe I can do it better now. ;)
I am going to see the tour again this year but wish you were still in it. You put so much passion and acting into it the way it SHOULD be!! Keep doing your thing. such a great performance!
I saw him in San Diego last May and this man brought me tears when he sang this on the stage. When I met him after at the stage door, I nearly started crying while telling him how much I already loved Javert but how he made me love Javert even more and that he did this role I love so much justice. He thanked me profoundly, shook my hand, and introduced himself like a perfect gentleman and I was SOLD on him as an actor and man immediately.
Rebecca Radillo I met him as well and he’s so humble and kind ! You’re right he was so incredible and made me feel sympathy and love for Javert to an extent I never felt before .
I love the way he holds those long notes toward the end! It sounded even better in the show with a full orchestra! I hope he reprises his role when the tour comes back around!
saw him in charleston in october and my mom and i are going down to jacksonville just to see this group perform les mis again josh davis has an absolutely incredible voice and is definitely my favorite playing the role of javert
This comment was made a year ago. All i am saying maybe he sounds different is because this is only sung with a piano instead of orchestra. The room in this video has enough sound...maybe
Came to find him because I just saw his Javert in Connecticut and was BLOWN AWAY. Third time seeing it and he just OWNED the role. Wonderful! Will be looking out for him in the future. ADBL
I'm not sure how long he will be on tour, but I hope that he's that for your stop! This Les Miserables tour appears to be a limited run tour with a set amount of stops, and with tours like this, they usually have the same cast throughout.
Ben F I know, it’s aggravating. Another reason why I love Philip Quast’s Javert so much - he just sings it straightforward and can actually hold a full, steady note.
@@Mia_Buchignani I'm pretty sure I hit at least one note correctly. :) But I agree, doing the show 8 times a week for almost two years now, sometimes it's easy to drift away from the score. I recently revisited the score again and spent some time with all those notes Id missed ;) - Thanks for coming to see the show!
I gotta say, I saw him live and I didn't like his rendition of Stars. I just think there was too much vibrato, and the technique took over for the actual acting that I feel is supposed to take place. Watching this video I feel the same. He's a great performer technically, and his other numbers were grand. But I played Javert and researched his character and, while the character is open to interpretation, I just feel like Josh didn't get the emotion across that Stars needs to be a truly great number.
I saw him tonight in Les mis. It was the worst portrayal of Javier I've ever seen. Hell I'd rather watch the movie version. He ruined my night. Please add some emotion. Too robotic.
Weird, I thought he was the BEST Javert I’d seen live. He was perfect. Stoic, imposing, silently intimidating. This guy nailed the novel Javert to a T. Sorry you didn’t enjoy it.
Mark Bockenstedt I'm so sorry that my small mistake confused you so much. It must have taken hours for your brain to figure out that I meant Javert. Either way it was a horrible performance in my opinion.
I thought he was the best Javert that I have seen. In fact I am impressed with the whole cast. Musically, he nails the part and thought his portrayal fit the character perfectly.

I loved it. I saw you yesterday in Chicago and the show was outstanding. You are indeed a wonderful Javert. Great voice!
I had the privilege of seeing you two weeks ago in Chicago, and I honestly was blown away by how amazing your performance was.
I saw you in this role twice. I thought you were great as Javert!
I am going to see the tour again this year but wish you were still in it. You put so much passion and acting into it the way it SHOULD be!! Keep doing your thing. such a great performance!

I just saw this guy in Charleston play Javert and he is absolutely amazing. Wonderful performance.
Very blessed to have seen this man perform live . Best Javert I’ve ever seen
I love the way he holds those long notes toward the end! It sounded even better in the show with a full orchestra! I hope he reprises his role when the tour comes back around!
I agree that this does not do him justice. I saw him in Syracuse last night and he was absolutely amazing. His voice is so powerful!!!
I’m in tears 😢. Bravo, Josh 👏🏽❤️🌹
Saw him in St. Louis this time. He is the best as always.
Saw him last weekend in Rochester!! The show was incredible. Loved him as Javert
I saw him last week at the Fox in St. Louis. My lord, what a performance! The audience was screaming with joy after he sung this!
I saw him a javert in Detroit and he was amazing!!!! I am now obsessed
Saw him a couple weeks ago and it was absolutely amazing❤️
saw him in charleston in october and my mom and i are going down to jacksonville just to see this group perform les mis again
josh davis has an absolutely incredible voice and is definitely my favorite playing the role of javert
This performance does not do him justice. Saw him in Cleveland and he was AMAZING - he was so much more dynamic then this. Trust me, go and see him!
agree 100%

I recently saw Josh Davis as Javert in San Francisco and was very impressed by his performance. It was the Javert of my imagination brought to life.
made me cry like 1000 times :)
saw him in Indianapolis, amazing performance!
lol don't think so. I watched that one on Tuesday night
Milch L welp, we might’ve gone to the same one 😂
Just saw him as Javert in CT with the current tour. Amazing job, one of the best Javert's I've seen. He's great
Came to find him because I just saw his Javert in Connecticut and was BLOWN AWAY. Third time seeing it and he just OWNED the role. Wonderful! Will be looking out for him in the future. ADBL
Saw him yesterday in SF, and he is THE BEST Javert, ever.
Sorry but that title has to go to Philip Quast. Just saw the new production and Davis is pretty good.
Yaaas Quast forever will be my favorite
This doesn’t come close to Quast.
I just saw him in Pittsburgh -- what a great voice!!!!
Just saw him in South Bend. Outstanding performance!
Yes! I saw him in Syracuse, right after South Bend!
This man's voice gave me chills..Great job sir!!!!
Saw him live recently. AMAZING Javert!
I saw him at the Bushnell and he was amazing to see live. Such a fantastic Javert!
I'm not sure how long he will be on tour, but I hope that he's that for your stop! This Les Miserables tour appears to be a limited run tour with a set amount of stops, and with tours like this, they usually have the same cast throughout.
I saw him at DPAC last month. My friend and I were completely enraptured. He was a PHENOMENAL Javert.
GameTheory PhantomGamer they only release stops season by season. There is a new season released. I dont know how long Josh will be on it
Ahhh I’ve spoken to him. He’s an awesome guy
This guy is perfect
saw him play javert in syracuse! amazing!
He was incredible.
Awesome.
i love this iam in the theatre and lov ethis sort of thing
sf les mis was amazing
Yes! I saw it on opening night!
Great!
Newman vs Willow
One of my biggest issues with a lot of Broadway singers is that they use such heavy vibrato you can’t even tell what note they’re singing sometimes
Ben F I know, it’s aggravating. Another reason why I love Philip Quast’s Javert so much - he just sings it straightforward and can actually hold a full, steady note.
He was so good I just wish he wasn’t so sharp in his lower register. The entire first act he didn’t sing a single low note correctly.
Anon you might have seen him on an off night, because when I saw him he hit it all out of the park. Especially his low F in “Confrontation.”
I really don’t know if he hit one note correctly in the first act last night in SF.

Jeremiah Justis he played javert not Javier. There isn't even a character named javier

I was thinking the exact same. The entire first act: “what key is this dude singing in?”
