If you want to save money during your hard mode playthrough, remember that there is so much free fuel in Michigan as well as Alaska that you don't really have to buy fuel from stations. You can even use fuel from mission trailers as long as you deliver them with at least 10% left.
Great minds think alike, I started a new hard game about 5 days ago, looking forward to watching new adventures and good luck, thanks for showing the new Jeep DLC I had no idea it was available
Just wanna say hi! Playing hardmode myself. What saved me a ton of money, using the Fleetstar exclusivly. Sold the GMC, Chevy and the Scout. Bought the Rubicon. With the Fleetstar, I went with the Sideboard bed and the small crane. Manual loading safes you the loading fees. For refueling I used the free fuel trailer across the farm and the heavy fuel trailer. I always try to combine tasks. Ist fun, and you come out with nice truck configs Like double trailers or double loads. Good luck out there!
@@Vbluguitar I do like the paystar myself, but ist to expensive at the beginning. Personally I will get the "whitey". And the Fleetstar is pretty reliable early on, even with roadtires.
I started up my own Hard mode about a week ago and i found out that the pre-order Khan is not unlocked in Hard mode. I suppose that is a good thing as for Michigan it is on the strong side. However i dont agree with how ppl think it´s just op. Yes it can do stuff that other scout trucks cant but sense they sliced it´s fuel tank almost in half it´s almost useless for anything else other then short scouting trips. Sure u could add a roof rack on it but then u must also spend 10k on the autonomous winch unless u wanna have a rescue truck on constant standby for WHEN u will tip over. Not if u tip over but WHEN u tip over. The thing is top heavy even without the roof rack.
Really looking forward to this series! Been searching for a good hard mode playthrough. btw, not smart refueling on your back to the garage as you could have used the fuel from the scout to refuel :P
Love the hard mode series! I hope I can join some time when you are streaming. You are on Twitch, right? About the time skip limitation in hard mode, would it not be cool if you could skip time at certain "over night" locations? For example at the garage, the motel and random houses in the woods. They could even bring in a camper trailer for the scouts so you could place time skip locations where you need them (for a cost). I like how in hard mode you only spend cash on extra equipment for the truck that you really need for the truck to perform better. It is not so much about the "bling" anymore ;-)
2 things I would do differently, I would use the chevy to go get the upgrades to increase what it sells for, also I'd add stickers which gives you an extra 3k if you add all the stickers that are free, but the the co-op scouting idea here! Wish I had friends to play with hahaha
I know I'm late to the party but you don't need to tow the scout. Drive the scout itself to the garage, then use the map to switch to the Jeep. Doesn't cost any money!
So relaxing and enchanting, up until you sold the 800 without siphoning its gas into the CJ7 and the Fleetstar. I do that in my normal playthrough. Any time I'm about to recover a vehicle because I'm finishing up that map, I drain its tanks into nearby trucks or cisterns.
@@Vbluguitar Yeah, I haven't started a hard mode playthrough yet (really want to), but from what I've seen, fuel is very precious. If you're ever gonna get rid of a fuel trailer, for example, find SOMEWHERE to put the gas. You can fill up a fuel tanker addon, and it will stay full even if you take it to a different region.
So what I did in hardmode was sell the GMC truck right at the start of the game, take Fleetstar to Taymyr and spend the money on service trailer to repair the Tayga. Stock Tayga easily clears first half of Michigan where you'll be able to upgrade your American trucks.
Hi Arthur , I enjoy your snowrunner series but you have made some mistakes . You need to get the gmc and get it to the garage and hitch up to the maintenance trailer . You then pull it to the fleet star and hey presto you have the fleet star . All the routes to the tunnel are blocked and you need a truck to clear the blockages . Secondly you can’t get to the pickup on Smithfield dam because the route to it is blocked . If you flip with no backup vehicle it is game over as recovery costs thousands of dollars . I have been playing hardcore for a while so the maps are still fresh in my head . You can do scouting missions but you need the trucks to clear blockages. Keep up the good work buddy
I’ve really been enjoying hard mode. One thing I found tho is I stopped doing every single task, because it just didn’t feel cost effective considering the price of diesel. Good luck brother.
Just watched this video for tips on starting a Hard mode playthrough and I was wondering, is there anything you would’ve changed, on how you started this mode?!
I would have scouted just Michigan and Alaska all the way, and then used the trucks I found to beat those two regions. Then I would have the money to complete the rest.
I haven't bought the jeep dlc yet but It's good to know that the jeep is $13000 I may use it in my hard playthrough because it's already got awd and dif lock right away instead of the Chevy just having awd
By OBS are you using OBS Studios or streamlabs.. i used streamlabs in the past and have had 0 issues.. if you are using the same exact configuration within OBS Studios as you did with your old computer you may want to comb through the settings and adjust things for your new PC... i agree with the recording format - i don't think simply converting a raw video to MP4 after a stream is that big of a deal if it makes the recording and stream perform better.. just my 2 cents
I'll try the FLV MKV thing. I can't use streamlabs because it doesn't support multi input audio devices. Standard OBS can turn a stereo signal to mono - Stream labs can't, so it pans my mic signal left or right, never center.
@@Vbluguitar you can get around that by using a virtual audio device... manage your audio devices through a single input, set it to mono through that and just use the virtual device in streamlabs.. let me know if you ever want to do that if OBS gives you too much trouble. I also have a studio mic that requires me to be exactly center of the logo on the side or else it isn't center in the headphones, nice quality, but a pain in the rear Im also pretty sure i had multiple audio devices when i used streamlabs but its been awhile. (not sure when you last used it but when it came out it was rediculously basic.. but has since become a streaming standard)

Watching three of your Snowrunner series at once. I have to ask how you managed to start this game without any of the DLC vehicles retained. I started playing not long ago but feel like starting with a bunch of them is kind of cheaty so wouldn't mind starting a game without them.
I've never played on hard mode. Can't you switch to vehicles on the map from the garage? If you can, wouldn't it have been easier to drive the international back to the garage and just switched back to the Jeep to continue your journey?
No, because I needed to upgrade the tires to the jeep tires, though I could have done that at the Smithville garage - My initial thought was to get the tires, the snowrunner transmission and then head off, but I kinda forgot to get the transmission...
I used to think everything electronics was different from the rest of the new shit i bought plug and play right? Nah.. apparently everything has a break-in time. you learn the little corners of your new purchase. shit people should have WARNED WAY BEFORE about but none seems to write about them in the reviews? also what a british "wat?"
How do the contests work with coop? Do all the drivers have to go through all the checkpoints or can you coordinate to accomplish the task faster? For instance, Container delivery in Taymyr, can you have one person start the contest with the other person in position to complete the contest?
Yes, you can have one person start and immediately have the other person complete. You can also share - so if you need beams from one place and wood from another, you can split up and each get one of the needed parts.

I would agree - I would NOT pick the Marshall as my first scout for those exact reasons. Not enough gas, too tipsy.

I wish we could have finished this series, but the game is moving forward so fast that I had to pick one series and go with it.

I don’t agree with selling anything right away. You miss out on being able to sell upgrades as you unlock them plus you miss out having a backup.
It depends - but in general, the most frugal way to play is to keep everything.

@ 18mins, maybe it's the recording app ur using, see if it has settings u can change, u might be able to change the recording frame rate
it was a frame rate mismatch - I had to reduce my on screen FPS to 59.96 to match the recording

Love the content, but to hard for me.
You can just watch it here on TH-cam - I will record it while streaming and then post the recordings here.
Props to ya bud regular is hard enough can imagine hard mode
It will be interesting.
Got any tips?
Drive slow. if you get tired, take a break. Drive VERY slow
try locking the game fps to 60 or whatever the video runs at so the difference of frames per second wont mess it up and be choppy
That is exactly what worked - My monitor runs at 144, so it was causing issues. Seems the latest drivers have fixed this too.
Bring someone over Arthur as it'll help you a lot and it'll be more entertaining
coming soon - feared is going to join.
