- Tons of people have been asking me how I block ads on Twitch and hopefully, this video teaches you how! I find the first option in this video the most consistent, safe, and reliable but a bit tedious to set up. The second option is more convenient to set up but may be a security risk, so use it at your own risk. I'll leave links to the GitHub and the vaft permalink used in this video. Enjoy!

I'm not about to sit through 12 ads one after the other on Twitch again
Like there’s no way that someone streams for 8 hours and run 12 ads every 10 minutes and think that’s ok…
Thank you so much man, I am finally free from those annoying ads. Ads on it's own are fine, but these were way to long and super annoying as well. They made my blood boil every time. I've never blocked ads before as I know it's a business model and all that so streamers can earn money as well. But they've passed the point where it was reasonable long ago now.

A few people may be confused at the 4:27 mark so allow me to explain. The userResourcesLocation in line 42 is the script that uBlock Origin looks for when blocking the Twitch ads. This exact value is the vaft ublock (permalink). I will paste down below the exact value for line 42 to remove any confusion:

hey bro, copied this exact but now when i have ublock enabled, no twitch stream will load. just the black screen with a loading circle. when i disable ublock it loads. any help?
@@Samo12233 Disable all other extensions except for uBlock. If that doesn’t work, reset uBlock preferences and redo what is shown in the video. Though I think you have another extension that is interfering with the Twitch ads blocking process.

Thank you. The Vivaldi built in ad blocker has been working fine on TH-cam, but on Twitch it has been hit or miss. This solution is working perfectly. No more missing crucial moments in streams. Very happy with this.

Thanks dude, I followed your steps and it seems to be working so far. I went through a few different ad-blockers in the past then noticed just all of them stopped working for Twitch which was annoying. For TH-cam it's not so bad with ads as they don't last as long and you can skip some of them but Twitch make them appear too soon and are too aggressive. Streamers do have some control on when to use them but you can tell the difference from others who annoyingly post them all the time to make you sub which I think is wrong. I will only sub if their personality is worth my money otherwise they shouldn't get it out of annoyance or even worse, out of your own guilt!
This was excellent instruction - my first time to do such a tweak and carried it off without a hitch! Only suggestion I would have (for newbies like me) is to go a little bit slower when clicking about the various screens. I got through it by rewinding and pausing a bunch of times. Anyway - it was really fun and well done to you!
Think twitch changed something recently because i started getting ads again, but I just repeated the steps in this video, and they're gone once again

Was already using ublock. This 100 percent works. Only thing in your how to you sorta didn't explain is copy the Adress of the permalink. You didn't mention it. So it wasn't clear when you pasted it in the last step. Great vid

It works perfectly fine. I’ve been using it for like a whole month, but the problem I have is randomly the stream would continue to load infinitely, and the only way to fix it is refreshing it

Thank you for this content filtering video. Normally I just use a script that blacks the screen and mutes the tab during a commercial but this should help better. Commercials are horrible and I don't want to see them. I wish companies like Twitch and TH-cam had a different way to obtain revenue because commercials have a major negative impact on customers. it was working as intended for me for many months, but now it is blocking ads but after the ad is over the stream doest go back to 1060p and stays on 360p forever.

Worked for me, wish twitch (and youtube) would look towards different ways to advertise than to torture the viewers by unskippable 2 minute ads. No one wants it and I imagine most of us would look towards free solutions like this rather than paying a subscription

When it was just the odd 5 or 10 second ad i didnt mind but now u get 3 mins worth of ad where u cant see what is going off its awful especially when u get creators who use ads all the time. ads are getting insane online maybe if they stoped pushing there luck we wouldnt feel the need to keep using ad blockers.
Still works it does struggle sometimes but restarting the browsers have fixed it so far, pleas do make a vid about mobile adblocker 😊

It works but for some reason the quality stays low even tho I have to to full hd, it feels like its 360p
It usually does this for about the length of an ad. So expect 360p quality anywhere from 15-60 seconds and then for the video feed to update to its regular source quality.

Here on my Twitch, until yesterday everything was fine. But today the ADs started again
uBlock Origin recently had an update, which for me, duplicated the extension giving me 2 uBlock Origin extensions. Delete the oldest extension, then redo everything in this video for the latest extension.

Ublock origin works for a couple videos for me and then it just doesn't play videos anymore, like it's just a black screen in the videoplayer and it says something like "can't play video."
finally i can watch without being spammed 5 ads in 10 minutes with a duration of 2 minutes. 💀💀💀
We need another How To Watch Deleted Vods! The extension is only applicable when the streamer is live, but is invalid when I’m trying to view deleted vods.
Hmmm… That shouldn’t be the case, it still works great for me. What browser are you using it with?

That’s probably why, I don’t think the Firefox extension gets updated as regularly as the one on Chromium-based browsers like Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. I would try using it on one of those browsers and seeing if your issue is fixed there.

This worked but unfortunately I now have the issue of constant quality shifting during the streams that is only present with this method. I also get a lot of buffering issues where I get the spinning loading wheel and Ill have to resfresh to fix it. I may look for another method.

doesn't work anymore, at least for me. It worked fine yesterday, but when I got up this morning it wasn't working anymore. (germany)
Still works for me, check to see if uBlock got updated and reset your preferences. If it did, you may need to reset uBlock and redo what is shown in the video. Hopefully, that fixes your issue!

I did this, blocks ads, but i can use just 1 twitch tab, if i open like 2,3,4, etc tabs, just the 1st one works, other tabs dont load....
i noticed sometimes it frezzes the video and doesnt work anyone else? or any other methods or should i just re paste the script?
How do you get that notification at the top left saying "Blocking Ads"? Mine is not showing that.
