We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning th-cam.com/users/postUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.
Hello I have a small sonos system (one speaker) and really like the whole idea of the add-on. We are embarking on a family room addition and want to be all in on our AV equipment. Looking at the sonos Playbar and Home Theater System I would like to know how are the satellite speakers powered? I do not want to have wires everywhere when I can prepare by having outlets prepped and at the ready when we install the speaker system. The simple Sonos system I have now with the one speaker needs an outlet. Also, does the sub need to be in front or the back of the room? Thank you great video.
Michele, all of the Sonos products need power outlets. There are a number of companies that sell little nooks that you can cut out of the dry wall and insert which hold the Sonos pieces. If you're interested in doing the full home theater system, you should check out our holiday bundle... Playbar, sub and two PLAY:3's. Everything is on sale through 12/31. Hope this helps! www.audioadvice.com/sonos-wireless-audio-system.html
I would at least mention that for surround sound it can only decode Dolby Digital which does not even include Dolby Digital Plus which is what you will find when watching Netflix. I would already own this if it could decode more inputs.
Kelthus I recommend the Nakamichi Shockwafe Pro 7.1 soundbar, unlike Sonos, that soundbar supports these audio decoders: -PCM (up to 7.1 ch) -Dolby Digital -DTS Digital Surround -DTS-HD High Res Audio -DTS-HD Master Audio -DTS:X -DTS Neutral X I'm sure you can use DTS Neutral X to upmix Dolby content (from DD+ to Atmos) for your listening pleasure instead of using boring old PCM.
I hope I'm not too late but get the Nakamichi Shockwafe Pro 7.1 soundbar, for $649 plus tax (obviously), it'll give you an even greater value than Sonos and Bose combined. If you wanna know why, just ask me.
Can you control the centre channel volume in this? I am so tired of turning the volume up (to hear talking) then turning it down (action is too loud) when I watch Blu rays and AppleTV streams, and I don't want a full surround setup.. Any advice would be appreciated!
+Jeff Bellamy you can not adjust the center channel track but it does have Speech Enhancement mode you can turn on from the app, which raises the dialog level and reduces effect levels, essentially doing the same thing as turning up the center channel.
I am going to buy 5.1 with sonos playbar and sub-configuration. I am using Samsung qn55q8c tv in 2017. Is it possible to use optical output Dolby 5.1 through pass?
hey wanted some help make a purchase decision.which do you feel is good sound setup for sonos (playbar +2×play1+sub) or (sonos beam + 2*play 5) for a living room 22ft×12ft approx. great work comprehensive reviews.
If doing option 2, your 2 PLAY:5 speakers will be more powerful than the Beam, in relation to power. De Beam does not have great lower tones. De Playbar does and if you will get a Sub, it is an ultimate sensation. Maybe a little more expensive, but it will worth it. Just a soundbar (Playbar of Beam) with 2 PLAY:1 speakers are not working very well as a real surround system. But when you bought a Sub and connect it: A total other universe of watching movies. I hope my advice will help a little. Maybe you get that I prefer the first option. 😉
Jonathan, the only place I could put the Playbar would be about an inch off the ground on the mount of my pedestal Samsung TV. I have been told that it would be a waste of money to put it down that low. Can I get descent sound (I would be using the subwoofer also) with it basically on the ground in front of the TV? Thanks.
Hi Sandy. Your TV is on the ground? As long as your television is on a piece of furniture, putting the soundbar on that piece of furniture in front of the TV is fine. We definitely wouldn't recommend putting it on the ground.
Jonathon, the setup is as follows: The TV is a Samsung Pedestal TV. The screen sits on a pedestal which contains the electronics and the pedestal sits on an integrated glass base the top of which is about an inch off the ground. The pedestal is about 6 inches from the front of the base which leaves room for the playbar on that base (the base is adequately wide to hold the unit). So it is not on the ground, but only an inch off the ground on the glass base. Will that work? Thanks again for your time.
As a home cinema system it's crap... no DTS support natively... so anyone with Blu Ray disks will only get stereo... massive problem for home cinema use.

Should i buy sonos soundbar or bose 300

Tan Khan I want the sound bar. For a bedroom. Do I need the sub or not? What do you think? Small room not huge
ColonielLizardT4 nah too many cables for the set up. Pass
Can the Sonos Playbar sound support 220 electricity voltage and how to pair it with Bluetooth?
Check with your local Sonos distributor
How can i connect the paybar if I dont have the digital optical port on my TV?
i need help which one is better sonos vs bose
Bose
Just me who was a little disappointed by the PlayBar in the music domain? Great for AV, not so good for music.
Can I connect Google Home to the Sonos Playbar? Or use bluetooth to play music from my phone?
Sonos is working via WiFi. It's possible to put a Google Home into your Sonos system and connect it together.

하상우 The Sonos only has PCM, no Dolby nor DTS support.
Does it have Bluetooth to listen to music
It does not have Bluetooth, this is also an older video and this speaker is no longer made. Thanks for watching
No sound test?
Hi there. Do I need to buy a sonos bridge to listen to the tv, and what are the bridges for. Thanks alan
no

Is it still worth buying the playbar from sonos at $400?
It does dialog really well. You can spend more and get better performance, but for its cost we feel it is the best in its class. Thanks for watching

Does SONOS Playbar has 4K bypass?
+Indrajeet Patil The Playbar does not switch video. It connects to the optical audio out of your TV. All video switching is done at the TV
Thank you.
No HDMI for Arc? Was considering it for my tv but this is a deal breaker.
What’s their to deal? It works quite well.
As a home cinema system it's crap... no DTS support natively... so anyone with Blu Ray disks will only get stereo... massive problem for home cinema use.
Nakamichi Shockwafe Pro 7.1 DTS:X soundbar is $50 cheaper and offers a lot more features & better surround sound experience than Sonos.
Is that all Bluray discs?
Bro, It is honestly fantastic. Obviously, it isn't as good as being at the cinema, but for a home cinema system, it is more than better.
Get a lg dts x with hdmi audio way better. Paid 149. Suppourts speaker kits and dts
People want to hear how this device sounds.
that's impossible, you can't convey the sound quality through a youtube video, it will be limited to the quality of your own speakers.
so... theres no output connection for a subwoofer? wireless only??...
The Playbar can only be paired w/ the Sonos SUB.
Yeah it's well dated avoid this sound bar unless under 250 quid
