I’ve had the same experience with lifting these SCX24 rigs. Most of the time stock out performs the mod rig. One thing some locals do is relocate the shocks like you did and then remove the springs. This gives you the greater articulation without the high center of gravity. I’m going to try that mod on one of mine soon to see what it does. BTW the C10 and JLU rigs respond very very well to shock relocation. Deadbolt not so much. Great video thank you! I’ll try to catch up with the rest of your vids.

I hear if you take out the upper link part of the suspension(because it's a triangle it makes you only really have a 3 link suspension)and replace it with the ones in the bag of spare parts u can make an actual 4 link and get the flex that you are looking for. All u have to do extra is cut the driveshaft from the bag to make your front driveshaft work. It also brings the front rear out to the front further. Nice test and good ideas to bring up the suspension 👍

To take advantage of the Lowered Shock Placement you need to increase the wheelbase or all you do is raise your CG
changing one part of suspension geometry usually means adjusting something else, it's a balancing act of climb and Anti-climb around your center of Gravity
I've ordered some parts to change some more things but covid is still affecting supplies and postal delivery in Australia so I've had to compromise a bit lately it's a never ending search to find that balance thank you for watching pleasure to have you cheers 👊

Throw that factory supplied long arm kit on there, your crawling and flex capabilty increases dramatically.. I finally did mine after 2 years. I'm thrilled I waited soo long...

@RCU IN THE SHED it's easy to install...drive shaft extension and links for front. But connecting new links in place of they Y link takes a little dremeling on the servo cage ..otherwise it's straight forward. U can reuse the ball joints u already have. And u may need 2 brass ones from leftover stock shocks...any ball joint will work.

They are certainly top heavy and roll over easily.
My best fix has been to add weight down low and that’s not a 100% fix.

Looks like you made the red one higher but sacrificing track width making it easier to tip.
Fun getting into technicalities with this stuff.
Obticle illusion the red looks skinnier cause it's higher but I didn't change the wheel track width that's next now I know wheel weights work best i bought some proper brass extensions and weights getting a wider wheel track and weighted wheels for both will be identical then cheers bro always watching and leaving feedback luv ya work 👊👍💯

If your shocks are to bouncy try putting a piece of masking tape around the top ,so the spring has more friction when moving . I did this to my SCX 24 but I'm using the stock shocks from my RGT Adventure on it. And it helps. Best part it's free if you have tape already.

at 3:15 I think that your servo was binding on the frame, because you got so little flex out of the front left tyre
Your right I found lifting it like this sometimes causes the uni joint to rub on the suspension linkages I personally am not a fan if it being that high the perfect lift is the same I gave Betty just move the shock mounts to the chassis cheers for watching and leaving a comment 👊👍💯

You also shortened the wheelbase on the red one by raising the chassis height. That's why it climbed right over the block and the green one high centered.
That's absolutely correct it does shorten the wheelbase when you raise it that much but you also loose power to the wheels by increasing the angle on your drive shafts and uni joints cheers for watching and leaving a comment 👍👊💯
would you rather have ground clearance or have the truck tip way easier. why didn't you lower the body instead of raise it?
When I moved the suspension mounts it tipped way to easy compared to the stock one in every comparison video I did the stock performed better best thing I did was move the mounts back to stock tip the shocks upside down add oil and wheel weights best performance I've found so far I've ordered alloy shocks the should arrive any day I'll do a video on those to see how they perform cheers for watching and leaving a comment 👊👍💯

Now some weights down low on the red one to lower the center of gravity and it should be great.

I believe the issue is the suspension on the modded one doesn't flex enough I own a near completely stock deadbolt and my brother has one with modded suspension and mine with stock suspension has better capabilities
I'd agree with that up travel is as important as down travel some missed the point of this video granted it was a while ago but it was spose to be a fair comparison to show lifted that high is not necessarily better check out the updated version of where I do actually run it and think it performs the best good luck thank you for watching and commenting 👊

Just an Alan key that's all just swap the screws and the shocky ball around
On the rear just unscrew the shock mount tower and flip it upside down

raising the COG makes it top heavy and worse on inclined surface obstacles;
