I was 9 years old when I found this video after I got a guitar for Christmas. I'm 25 years old now and work as an chartered accountant and still can't get this song right. 16 years it has always stumped me
Wow. In under 2 minutes and without a single word you have demonstrated and in fact taught how to play this piece. The rest is up to us to practice practice practice.
You've played this so simply and yet so masterfully...I haven't stopped listening to it for the last 2 days. It may take me forever to learn this but I've fallen in love with the song ...and your hands! And I find it beautiful the way you've made the lesson flow so gracefully into the whole song. THANK YOU. Tú eres el mejor!!
one of the first yt videos that got me going with Flamenco guitar, it all started with this timeless rumba and now 10 years later I have not stopped my pursuit. Blessings
Toco guitarra hace siete años, hace ya cuatro años no veía este video y estoy muy contento de que con el tiempo estoy dominando la técnica :') Parece imposible al principio lo sé, pero con paciencia y dedicación se obtienen los resultados! Saludos
I was completely enchanted when you started playing and it felt so bad when you stopped.... This is the most beautiful sounding strumming I've heard in a long time
HACE 15 AÑOS QUE POR PRIMERA VEZ VI ESTE HERMOSO VIDEO Y GRACIAS A EL APRENDI A TOCAR RUMBA. MUCHISIMAS GRACIAS Y BENDICIONES. TENGO 10 AÑOS TOCANDO EN UN RESTAURANTE. EXELENTE.
I have to thank you for posting this video. Even more impressive than your exellent guitar skills is your capacity and, not least, will to teach what you know. I think everbody should share their music with those who want to learn. Respect.
I've been addicted to your site since I started watching this a couple days ago. I haven't touched an instrument in years (used to play bass). Strumming that flawlessly and fast is going to be the hardest part but I love it! You restored my passion for music!
the slow part is for demonstration only. The stroke has 8 beats to i: 1. down with the thumb, 2. up with the thumb, 3. down with the middle and ring finger, 4. up with the thumb,5. hit the guitar, 6. up with middle and ring finger, 7. down with the middle and ring finger, 8. up with the thumb
amazing play man...i saw this video about 3 or 4 years ago, i went and bought a guitar took some lessons in guitar basics and learned this piece thanks to this video and here i am again 4 years later haha
I've been watching this vid for years and have learned to do the basic pattern, but I would really like to get a breakdown of the 2nd-3rd parts when you add the rasgueados/triplets. even if they're just improv, they sound awesome in this particular vid. please please do a tutorial! I know a lot of others would appreciate it too
Sorry I just did not study your other rumba video. Now I know the secret of this rumba. I just played it in a wrong rithme. Now I do , Thanks. Now I can impress my wife and kids so I can buy a new and better spanish guitar, lol. Thanks form the Netherlands.
way cool! i just bought a Jose Ramirez. My nails are definately way too short, so I've decided to grow them out. Meanwhile I'm looking at your video and its' given me the inspiration to continue onward and learning this new technique. Thanks for sharing this great video!
EL FLAMENCO ES MUY BELLO,bello y simple pero complicado,no todas las manos pueden pero cuando lo consiguen unas son alavadas por todo el ke escucha con el alma, gracias por dejarnos verlo. un abrazo
thanks very much for this easy-to-understand video with chords. I learnt the chords very fast and I am getting the rythm too. Need some more practice and then it will all be good. Thanks :)
Now I get it... if you see, at regular speed the right hand is diferent, because the last stroke in slow mo is made by the thumb, and in regular speed is made by the middle.. that reduces energy, but still, this is a GREAT GREAT lesson.. thanx
You are awesome I've always wanted to learn some Spanish rhythms (only to impress the ladies =D ) I can't thank you enough I've now subscribed to your videos.
This video has been my ultimate challenge since I started to learn to play the guitar. I have managed to get the Rumba technic to a decent level but would love to play the above cords the same way you do. Any way you could make a new video detailing your technic??? It would mean the world. Thank you.
"the brown thing" on the frets is a capodastre, usually used to change tune (higher)of the guitar without turning keys, and also it's more comfortable for the left hand to play on non-large frets.
Extremamente didático, very, very good job!!! Congratulations!!! Very good job!!! Like you show, it seems easy :) but we know how hard is to play like you!!!
Flamenco é lindo e não é qualquer um que tem culhão pra mandar um flamenco bem-feito...e um flamenco bem-feito é tudo!É o estilo perfeito pra conquistar mulher hehe

Not only playing good. the shape of your hand trumming is beautiful. I enjoy watching your right hand playing just as a dancer performing on stage.

This chord progression has been used by many artists. It is just a progression. You can make it your own by creating your own melody on top of it.
man your fingers are dancing! Beautiful!!
