Insomnium wrote a song dedicated to Miika Tenkula (the guitarist of Sentenced). The song is called "Weighed Down with Sorrow". You should check that one out. Miika was very talented and wrote so many amazing songs, but sadly his life ended way too soon. He was only 34 when he died of a sudden heart attack caused by genetic heart disease.
Great band, you need to see more video to understand the magic of this band. Gothic doom metal had tone of great bands, one of the most loved type of metal. Just try Paradise Lost, Crematory, Lake of Tears, Moonspell, Tiamat, Therion , Type O Negative and mannnnnyyyyyyy more!!!
Interesting that you mentioned Alice in Chains. When AiC played in Oulu (Sentenced home town) the supporting act was S-Tool, with the ex-Sentenced vocalist.
I always loved them, until my younger brother did this exact thing to himself. After that it has not been the same, even that I can now already listen to them again. This was one of his favorite bands (if not the favorite). So I think people need to be careful if they have mental issues, and not to let them be drawn too much into these lyrics. These are meant to be entertaining and funny. My favorite song is probably "Nepenthe", but it's the old singer, and I know some people can't stand his voice. It's really amazing song...but they have plenty of those. My guess is that your next song is "Killing me, Killing you".
