They shouldn't ban it. Everyone has it. It's been used for last 8-10yrs. Some found new ways to use it. Next year guess what, those fish have felt that pressure and something else will dominate. Been using it myself for 4yrs, it was easy when I first put it on, fish adapt to it. And the pros will adapt to. I can get behind a limit to units, 1 or 2 upfront. But a total ban isn't needed.

It’s an attempt to draw more of the older famous anglers to fish their tour and promote their organization. I think it will work and I think it’s a brilliant move.
It absolutely was the right move. Enough is enough. Doesn’t the idea of just going out and fishing sound good and refreshing? Hopefully this starts a trend. The electronic corps are ruining our sport.
All the State Wildlife Fish & Game Dept’s need to Ban the FFS Crap! Then we can all be finished arguing about it. Done. It’s not fair to the fish to be spotlighted and picked off.
I don’t think it’s a BAD move. If they’re the standalone trail that bans it than I’m with it. They’ve already set the precedent that they’re not trying to compete with the two major leagues. People were going to complain regardless, might as well be different and give guys a lot of time to make their decisions for next year.
I am not a fan of FFS. In fact I don’t even follow BASS anymore. However, I loved following it years ago and loved my experience as a marshal back in 2014 and 2015. Learned a lot from the 6 guys in “fished” with.
Having equip/tech limitations at the upper levels is a good idea, just like other pro sports. Let’s see how this works out for the NPFL. What bass did was milk toast in my opinion. MLF won’t make any changes.
Does this new one transducer on the Bassmaster Elites only give one option now between your choice of Live Sonar, 2D or 360? Seems that way. I like it. Now you have to pick your poison.
Good to have choices for tourney anglers. I watched less fishing this year than ever. FFS was only watchable if you had access to seeing the anglers screens. Muskie and larger game fish are lower density populations that were much more effected by FFS. Stocking a Muskie now is approx $20.
@@JohnCrews The Muskie tourney organization was one of the first to ban Live scope. Being that many lakes only have a density of 1-3 fish an acre, anglers are following the big fish even harder than bass. Sturgeon too could be decimated as they are not hard to find on the scopes and it could be potentially worse as the technology progresses and costs come down. It’s a great technology for anglers just may not be for the fish.
John I clicked on this to hear your opinion as an angler what you personally would like, not that you think Bass/MLF should do what’s best for their business, of course, that goes without saying. What’s best for John Crews the angler, that’s what we tune in for. 🤜

Anyway, I like the changes BASS just made, and I look forward to the next season with an open mind that isn’t against them expanding the alotted transducers/screen inches next year.
I think it was a great move on their part however I think the other leagues need to keep it in place . If all the leagues do the same thing, it will be no different now. It would be best if every league had different things to offer, then they no longer are competing against each other but offering different products

While Bass master and MLF are indeed businesses and should make business decisions, their business still impacts public water and fisheries that other businesses do not. Banning FFS in any tournaments. I disagree because if you let them start telling you what you can and can't use what will be next...no graphs at all, 90 HP motor, only 4 rods allowed per boat and only 3 lures in your boat. Haha! That’s a funny take. A mix is the future. You’ll see.
I don't think there have been any studies to confirm your subjective "opinion" ..
I think there should be studies and I am skeptical it has any real substantial effect
on numbers or size of bass ..
I'm just tired of all the crying..at least NPFL made a stand and now the people who hate it other pros can chose to fish with them it's basically the same payout 100grand for a win and a 5200 dollar entry only six tournaments but they have a championship so now you have choices
Banning FFS in any tournaments. I disagree because if you let them start telling you what you can and can't use what will be next...no graphs at all, 90 HP motor, only 4 rods allowed per boat and only 3 lures in your boat. No Missile baits allowed (LOL). FFS helps anglers but it doesn't guarantee you will catch the fish. John Crews you have had a couple bad years, so what I can name several anglers fishing in the Elites have had several bad years. You will bounce back!!!
Bingo. Thanks bro 👊🏼
They already have rules and tell them what they can and can’t do. This comment is mute.
John I thought you were smarter than that but it seems you are not.
John I hope You Herron Swindle Mendez Hackney Clark will spend the Winter learning FFS and quit using it as an Excuse to keep getting beat and not making the Classic
Map, depth and water temp are all you need at a maximum. If you need a cheater box to compete competitively, you are NOT a professional angler.
