@@TechOdyssey ok wicked I don’t mind the reflective anyway. I was just wondering. does the clarity get affected with the screen protector on. Samsung clear protector did you say ? Thanks
It does. Samsung recommend their protective FILM. This is too expensive and too narrow leaving sharp edges, making it uncomfortable for fingers. It gets appalling reviews.
I just traded my Fold 5 for the S24 ultra, and the brightness and contrast on the Fold 5 is much better. Quite a difference, but that was only after an update, so we should get an update for the S24 Ultra soon to fix this hopefully
I got my S24 Ultra last Friday and holding it next to my old S22 ultra, it was extremely obvious the S24 screen isn't as saturated. Colors are way more vivid on the older screens. But the S24 is a lot smoother with its refresh rate.
This is a very serious problem. With out a quick fix, I will return my phone. The main reason Samsung leapt ahead of iphone and other android phones was the display. Very poor quality control on Samsungs part! Thanks for the great contrast tip.
For me, i have no problems with the colors, whether in terms of content, icon colors, or watching movies on TH-cam of Netflix with HDR+. The colors are very beautiful on his display and just a gorgeous experience! Don't forget that Galaxy S24 Ultra has one of the best display in the world. Thank you for the tip. If Samsung execs have common sense they will make an official announcement about this issue tomorrow (launch day) or quietly release a day 1 fix, either way it must be officially addressed.
Anyone find a tempered glass screen protector that works with the fingerprint sensor on the s24 Ultra? Tried the one from ESR but it didn't work, looking for suggestions!
I ordered an Ailun glass protector from amazon but I haven't tried it yet. I'm not happy to hear that there's a problem with the screen protectors as I see the screen on these, all the fancy glass names notwithstanding, scratch as easily as ever.
Samsung reckon only their protective film (not glass) is ideal for the S24 Ultra. It ain't cheap (@£30) and this is rather sneaky. This film has to be fitted manually and is too narrow leaving uncomfortable edges in use, and it bubbles up too easily. It has awful reviews.
I'm having 2nd and 3rd thoughts about accepting it. Maybe i'll just keep my old reliable Note 9 and wait until they come out with genuine improvements, like Huawei - satellite calls and authentically strong glass not just fancy names.

Samsung messed up on this one. I got mine Friday and already sent it back today. My s23 ultra looks much better that's my opinion only. Plus Samsung took away the ability to just the brightness of the always on screen. Why would Samsung do that?? I know it seems Petty but it's a big deal to me.
This seems to be an S24 Ultra-only issue, as my regular S24's screen is completely fine. A small thing that I did notice when comparing it to my S23 is that white text doesn't really look white, but has green/pink-ish hue. Hopefully they'll fix it soon.
I bought mine from T-Mobile. My wifes is an international unlckked from best buy. My colors are much more vivid than hers with the same settings. Thoughts?
Can you do this on the standard s24? Got mine today from the s21 firstly its really laggy especially on fb and instagram and the phone display is no where near as vibrant as my s21 and really choppy help me 😢
It is a bug that the display icons are washed out. When i pull down to show notifications, (regardless of contrast) the S24 U wins over S21U - so in notifications the colors pop but on homescreen not - unfortunatelly we have to wait for a fix
So I just received my S-24U today, and I have my S-23U side by side. Of course there is saturation difference. But overall I'm happy with my new device. On one hand, I think the S-24U's display might be easier on the eyes over the S-23U. Samsung is suppose to be adding a vivid mode toggle in the near future, but other than that. I'll stick with my S-24U, the flat display is a welcome change for me, and it feels a little snappier.👍🏾
I missed my Note 20 Ultra with curve screen with super dark background and super vivid colors. Every time I played the TH-cam app, the full screen was really a full screen. This S24U is not giving a full edge to edge on 4k or even 8k mode. Many old apps on Note 20 U, I also missed them.
I have an s21 Fe and when I am on vivid and attempt to adjust the white balance there is no difference. It's an across-the-board issue with Samsung's software. You can switch from natural to vivid on the fe but the white balance slider does not work anymore.
I can't remember if you created a video about the magnetic cases or not that don't affect the s pen. I'm trying to find a nice magnetic case, but haven't had the chance to just buy a few to try. I think UAG has a few good ones that seem to work with magsafe like products, but I don't know if it's the best.
I need your help in the setting off my phone samsung s24 ultra. On home screen I don't have the home screen layout, home screen grid, apps screen grid and folder grid.
Over time, yes. That's what semi to full brightness does. So it'll get burn in eventually down the line if your screens brightness is all the way up frequently. My s20 has burn in. I can s33 the keyboard on certain videos, time and date.
Just got my s24 yesterday and can't get it to watch youtube videos full screen without two bars on each side taking up space. Tried fixes online, but nothing is working.
well this display in combination with adaptive color mode gives you the most accurate ever done (not necessarily) the most eye pleasing experience , so for people who seeks a very accurate display not eye candy like previous s series displays thats your pick , imagine that this display changes color white balance highlights and shadows to give the most accurate colors under any ambient lightnings! ,, next update they will add a slider to make it eye candy 🍬 as you want but for many ppl including me , seeing natural acurate colors are more important than vibrancy , i wanna also mention that if you played a 4k hdr video over youtube or netflix this is the most epic display that gonna feast your eyes with visuals specially with its antireflective feature..
For me also and i have no problems with the colors, whether in terms of content, icon colors, or watching movies on TH-cam of Netflix with HDR+. Just a gorgeous experience!
I really hope this is a software issue. However I have a terrible feeling it's hardware issue, perhaps related to the anit-reflective screen layer because there is still a slight difference between Vivid Mode and Natural Mode, just not as pronounced as on the S23 Ultra and S22 Ultra. Who knows, maybe the natural mode on the S24 Ultra is more saturated in comparison for whatever reason hence the slight difference. It's a mystery at this point. Samsung should acknowledge this issue by now as it's wide spread and either issue a fix if possible or an explanation.
I just changed my wallpaper from one of the default interactive wallpapers to a bright of my motorcycle and it seems to have done the. I don't know if it's something within the system or not but since I have changed my wallpaper to a bright, daylight picture, I haven't noticed it.
Apparently a Reddit user found another way of fixing the washed out colours i haven't tried it yet still waiting for my S24 Ultra to turn up but if you Go to General Management-> Reset -> Reset all settings Then "Reset accessibility settings" in the same menu. This won't affect your installed apps or signed in accounts. It's not the same as a factory reset, which would prompt you to restore your previous phone's settings again.

Samsung needs to stop trying to be iPhone and stop with new layers on top of layers on the screen reducing color and percieved contrast or they will lose some of therebbiggest supporters who purely buy there phones for smasungs color which is what made it look better in comparisons. The problem with these overly-bright, overly-saturated, overly-contrast photos is that they dont' represent the actual photo accurately, and when you go to print them, you'll be disappointed. As a former wedding photographer, I would not want the phone to "lie" to me about the colors in my images. I think Samsung made a change toward color accuracy, and this is nothing more than that.
@@nicholash8021 I agree but they really need to stop worrying about to much brightness. Also remember we have accurate and them vivid mode. What is crazy s 24 have same switch but pushing it on helps just a little. Same thing is with clanging color saturation in settings, in s23 we see big changes when we switch from normal to vivid but in s24 changes are minimal. Looks like Samsung f up for some reason brightness and saturation levels. This thing is so much noticeable for everyone so make me thinking that they did it on purpose for some reason, it cant be a mistake, someone decided to set phone on this settings. I cant believe that they miss it out! Changing all settings in phone didn't solve the problem, it cheat your eye for moment but when you have both phones together than you cant full your self anymore.

For me Samsungs have always been too saturated, like I'm having psychedelics, to the point that I always made a trick to tone down the colors.. So for me, this phone screen is perfect
that screen protector looks like it adds the reflective back on haha
It’s not as good as the screen itself but for having a screen protector it’s pretty minimal
@@TechOdyssey ok wicked I don’t mind the reflective anyway. I was just wondering. does the clarity get affected with the screen protector on. Samsung clear protector did you say ? Thanks
@jonpeach5851 My screen clarity didn't change to me when I put on my glass screen protector.
@@nicholasbrown2627 you have a Samsung one aswell
Quite a difference, but that was only after an update, so we should get an update for the S24 Ultra soon to fix this hopefully
good luck with that update
I got my S24 Ultra last Friday and holding it next to my old S22 ultra, it was extremely obvious the S24 screen isn't as saturated. Colors are way more vivid on the older screens. But the S24 is a lot smoother with its refresh rate.
yep. comparing s24 just because of the color is too minor. we should appreciate the new things it has to offer especially ai and chipset
But your device wants JUST to sit at WQHD+ and enjoy it.
Thank you for the tip. If Samsung execs have common sense they will make an official announcement about this issue tomorrow (launch day) or quietly release a day 1 fix, either way it must be officially addressed.
Wow, it worked. Contrast is much better now. Thank you!
This fixed my phone watching TH-cam videos. All my videos were dark/dem until I changed that. Thank you
What brand of your protection case ? Thanks
After seeing this issue, I'm glad that I went with the OnePlus 12 which costs a fraction of the S24 Ultra (at least here in Canada)!
Great choice. The oneplus 12 has a much better display and is much smoother
I have pre-ordered this. I don't know if this screen issue(?) would affect me. Coming from a 7year old phone (Lenovo P2) But yeah, thanks for sharing.
You’ll be fine. It’ll look great
@@TechOdyssey yup. Expectation is a little bit high because of the flagship status.
I returned the S 24 ultra and as I always use iPhone and one good android phone , I now ordered the One +12 and also use my iPhone 13 pro
don't answer the door & let them take it back
I'm still on note 9. Incredible phone. Although the battery time has degraded a lot.
@@morriemariani9646 How much do they want for a new battery? Look into it. The Note 9 is the best phone they ever made. Samsung was still selling them refurbished a couple of years ago. They're probably not anymore, but maybe the Note 10 which some say was the last of the good ones.
I don't have the battery problem because I keep it plugged in most of the time. When I don't, tho, the battery is still good.
I got the S24 Ultra and I already returned it. The sound quality is so inferior to that of the Note 9. It sounds tinny, and low.
@@morriemariani9646 How much do they want to put in a new battery? I already returned the S24Ultra. The sound quality was so inferior to that of the Note 9, and low too, and the volume control didn't always work either.
Samsung was selling refurbished Note 9's a few years ago. They probably aren't any more, but maybe they have the Note 10 which I think was the last of the good ones.
Am I being shadow banned or something? I wrote this response before and it vanished.
Thinking of canceling my order but I hope they find a fix for this cause it's disappointing, currently on S22U..
I really hope so I was looking forward to the s24 Ultra now not so much😢 I don't know what device I can get with a good display I'm stuck using my S9 Plus what's a piece of crap that has so many glitches in it the keyboard keeps freezing up I need a new device I wanted the s24 ultra so bad? can't believe they did that with the display they promised it would be better than last year's
I would get the S24 Ultra. I still think the screen is very nice and would be a huge improvement over the S9 for sure
I don’t think it’s a big issue and Samsung is working on addressing it
Dude you will be mad coming from the s22 lol the s22 was the last truely colorful phone from samsung. You will compare them and be very dissapointed.
We had the same complaints on the s23 ultra you can find it all over people comparing with the s22 uptra and samsung did nothing. This time I don't think they can do much. Especially with the ultra and that new reflective coating on the new glass.
@@reviewforthetube6485 maybe I'll consider buying the s22 ultra even though it has heating issues I want a good screen I'll probably have to go that route no choice
Samsung messed up on this one. I got mine Friday and already sent it back today. My s23 ultra looks much better that's my opinion only. Plus Samsung took away the ability to just the brightness of the always on screen. Why would Samsung do that?? I know it seems Petty but it's a big deal to me.
Wow, okay so that HELLA WORKED !!!!!!I WAS GETTING WORRIED TOO LOL 😅
Glad it helped
Right now I have contrast set to number 3. When the Vividness Update comes out Tuesday I'm going to put it back at 1 default just to be safe.
Did the update fix the color issue ?
@@AndrewLLange Somewhat.
Has anyone noticed the little lines across the screen when you're on low brightness? Particularly in black or dark colors
This seems to be an S24 Ultra-only issue, as my regular S24's screen is completely fine. A small thing that I did notice when comparing it to my S23 is that white text doesn't really look white, but has green/pink-ish hue. Hopefully they'll fix it soon.
What case are you using for your 24 ultra?
This is like a walkthrough for a ps1 game to unlock a secret level or something 😊
Is it true that Exynos processor faster destroy battery than Snapdragon processor ?
I''m in doubt what to buy, S23 or S24 (exynos).
never buy exenos
It does look better. In my opinion. Thanks for the tip.🧐
Glad I could help!
Are you using adaptive brightness?
Did all the models come with a screen protector preapplied?
No. None of them do. At least not in the U.S.
Thank you so much. This really helped. Now my screen actually looks nice.
Question: The AOD clock colors only work for a certain clock style. It's not working for all of them. Do you know what the issue is?
I have an s21 Fe and when I am on vivid and attempt to adjust the white balance there is no difference. It's an across-the-board issue with Samsung's software. You can switch from natural to vivid on the fe but the white balance slider does not work anymore.
I can't remember if you created a video about the magnetic cases or not that don't affect the s pen. I'm trying to find a nice magnetic case, but haven't had the chance to just buy a few to try. I think UAG has a few good ones that seem to work with magsafe like products, but I don't know if it's the best.
I notice the difference on the icons with white backgrounds. Almost like a tinted white on S24 vs true white color on the S23.
I need your help in the setting off my phone samsung s24 ultra.
On home screen I don't have the home screen layout, home screen grid, apps screen grid and folder grid.
Good Catch! I was about to return my 512g S24 Ultra but I can tell a difference on Instagram & other social media sites.. 🤟
I'm wondering, though, if this High Contrast setting will mess with the screen over time as far as Oled Burn in!?
Over time, yes. That's what semi to full brightness does. So it'll get burn in eventually down the line if your screens brightness is all the way up frequently. My s20 has burn in. I can s33 the keyboard on certain videos, time and date.
Just got my s24 yesterday and can't get it to watch youtube videos full screen without two bars on each side taking up space. Tried fixes online, but nothing is working.
Yes I just upgraded from the s20 and there is a HUGE difference in the display that's a huge deciding factor for me and the camera
well this display in combination with adaptive color mode gives you the most accurate ever done (not necessarily) the most eye pleasing experience , so for people who seeks a very accurate display not eye candy like previous s series displays thats your pick , imagine that this display changes color white balance highlights and shadows to give the most accurate colors under any ambient lightnings! ,, next update they will add a slider to make it eye candy 🍬 as you want but for many ppl including me , seeing natural acurate colors are more important than vibrancy , i wanna also mention that if you played a 4k hdr video over youtube or netflix this is the most epic display that gonna feast your eyes with visuals specially with its antireflective feature..
The screen is really bue. Why is Samsung going for this Xperia style color scheme? I know the studio lights play some role but still.
Did not work for me😞
@@sagarvandersar Cheers for testing that I'll try and see if it works when I get mine.
Yeah my s21 ultra looks better than s24u. I tried what you did but looks the same pretty much... I will just get use to it but yeah colors do look faded on the new pup.

Samsung needs to stop trying to be iPhone and stop with new layers on top of layers on the screen reducing color and percieved contrast or they will lose some of therebbiggest supporters who purely buy there phones for smasungs color which is what made it look better in comparisons. @Noworries-PU7ye . I've had the S9÷ and the screen doesn't compare in the least. I've had every S series since the 8 so have seen the progress . The only thing is the 9 has a slightly better pixel density that you can't even tell .
If vivid mode isn't doing the job for samsugn fans that's a fail then. We can watch a nice natural image or vivid. Point is samsung isnt even giving us a choice now which there loyal buyers usually buy from them for there color punch and richness. I mean we could go iphone or pixel and others if we want more natural. I do think the brightness has gone way over boars for sure.
@@derekdrummond7544 s9+ has way way more color then the s24ultra. That's the issue. We buy samsung for there pop. Every comparison prefers samsung due to its color and pop. It's just something most people enjoy on a phone. So the fact it's so much worse sucks.
