The ref ruled the ropes saved Fury from hitting the mat after he had used the ropes for exactly that purpose 4 or 5 times. He stood between Usyk and Fury to save Fury from the KO punch. He gave a slow standing 8 count after sending Usyk to the corner. A competent ref would have rules a knock down after the first rope save or, let the fight continue until he ruled Fury couldn’t defend himself. Once Fury got the rest during the round and the bell rang he had the break to further recompose. He then came out for the 10th and did an amazing job considering he was senseless in the previous round. There are no contradictions there.
